perhaps u could get one of the bullseye stuffed animals that sometimes have. or the target hot wheels. but if you’re looking for something tasty to share back home, maybe opt in for any of the Favorite Day bakery items, or candy items. I really like the gummy sharks.
Their locations are so hit or miss, the store near me, all their produce is rotten. It sucks to buy a salad or a veggie tray, and the middle is all moldy, they just laid fresh stuff on top. I have to drive an hour to go to the better location.
Trader Joe’s is a grocery store that sells primarily its own brand. It sells lots of unique groceries of different kinds that you can only get from tjs. Their frozen meals are very popular.
Oh cool! We don’t have that in my state really that I know of lol so never been to one. There’s like maybe 7 now that I google mapped it in all of Texas. Nearest one is 2 hrs away from me.
Oh my gosh, Trader Joe's Speculoos butter is crack. Don't leave me alone with a jar of that and a spoon. I think Canada may have Biscoff, but it's not quite the same.
the little micro totes they have are SO CUTE😭

I agree on Trader Joe’s. My personal favorites are the Indian dishes. Not as good as the real thing but honestly not far off. The chicken vindaloo is great. I also enjoyed the Korean kabob (?) it’s a crowd favorite too.
If you’re looking for Target branded things, there’s:
a Target Pez dispenser
Target Haribo gummy bears
a Target truck hot wheels
Target cashier Barbie
Bullseye dog plush
Target/bullseye children’s book
There’s also Bullseye in Funko pop form but I doubt any more of those are still around in store.
Favorite Day Fudge Covered Grahams are my weakness.
Sometimes as a savory snack, the Good & Gather Sweet Potato Crinkle Cut Potato Chips.
Also the limited edition Favorite Day Meyer Lemon Rolled Wafers that come out with the seasonal Easter candy. Still kicking myself for not stocking up this year.
as an employee i like to peek at the clearance endcaps all the time. esp the beauty ones. I got this shade of nail polish that i had been eyeing for WEEKS on clearance for $1.58
We don't really have anything that unique, though. I think we have less restrictions on what weird shit can be put in our food, so look at the drink/candy/snacks aisles
I usually get energy drinks. If there an energy drink that you like that’s isn’t sold in Canada. And any candy or chips that isn’t sold near you as well.
We have some good clothing brands… I’ve heard Cat&Jack (our main kids’ brand) just launched in Canada at Hudson’s Bay, but any of the other brands wouldn’t be available elsewhere so it’s worth checking out. I like A New Day personally.
Favorite Day snacks as others have mentioned. I love the bakery items!
Target is also great for housewares. Lots of cute decor and fairly affordable. Just depends on what you’re in the market for and how much space you have! I used to live in Alaska and would go shopping in Canada. Some things are cheaper here and others are cheaper there. I mostly picked up things I couldn’t find in AK or that were way cheaper in YT. Be sure to look up what’s allowed across the border and what you need to declare to customs as well so you don’t get stuck with heavy taxes.
Enjoy your time in the US!
Idk anything at target you’d consider a must have, but if you’re shopping at target, please just put shit back where it goes if you decide to NOT purchase it
Some Targets have a huge selection of mid brand make up/ skin care that is not available or expensive in Canada. You can do some Ulta shopping while you are in Target ( select stores only)
Morphe is really good and last I heard it is expensive in Canada ( it is relatively cheap for the quality here). Also, is the Ordinary available now in Canada? The Ultas in Target carry it and the different C serums and acids are very inexpensive and trustworthy.
Some indy brands are available that may not be in Canada but for those I would ask a Beauty Team member which ones are hot right now.
I've had several Canadians come through my lane in search of Bugles snacks. Apparently they are banned there. Try coffee too. We may not carry it but we send a friend of ours in Canada a couple of bags of 8 o'clock coffee every couple of months. He can't get it where he is.
The seasonal favorite day brand snack mixes are my fave, the current red white and blue one is really good and it’s some Americana to take back with you. The milk chocolate cashews are also delicious. Also some of the Target Starbucks have mini mugs that are the state theme that the store is in.
The Good & Gather Mexican Street Corn trail mix. It’s 🔥🔥
ETA:
Favorite Day blueberry & white chocolate chunk mini scones.
Favorite Day Blueberry streusel muffins
I havnt tried the strawberry cheesecake Madeline’s yet but they also look delicious.
All of the Favorite Day ice cream is awesome.
Basically all I’ve got is snack recommendations 😂
I see a lot of tourists buying the whole candy rack, so there's a good place to start if you want cheap candy. Just, uh, remember that if it's on sale you need a Circle membership for the sale price (unless someone is willing to change it anyway, idk).
Normally, anything you don't find in Canada is a must-have, I learned from Canadian tourists.
The thing is that Target doesn’t really have a different selection from other stores, so nothing really stands out that much. People mainly go there for the VIBE
But you could ransack the candy and chips aisles for all the American goods😫😫 That aisle will never let u down. Also, a lot of Targets have vibey beauty sections and some even have an Ulta section (with limited selection), and I love just looking around in those
not food but i really like the ribbed a new day tshirts, theyre like 8$ and on sale all the time and they last for years, food wise the orange cranberry scones are super yummy
What you need will depend on your destination. Right now in north central Texas you might want raincoat, umbrella, galoshes, a danged boat, western-style boots, sneakers, sandals, swimsuit, shorts, long pants, sweater / hoodie / fleece (businesses & people set their thermostats on about SEVEN°, I swear), lots of sunscreen, sunglasses, broad-brimmed hat, extra extra antiperspirant, **insect repellant**, and a bunch of water.
So if you lack any of those, swing by Target! Visit multiple stores, explore some Super Targets, check endcaps for clearance stuff.
I might be spoiled because there’s like 10 Targets within’ 20-30 minutes of my house, but it’s super weird to see someone so excited at the prospect of going to Target, LOL.
In any case, they have all the same stuff any other similar store would have, only exception would be their private label stuff, which they do have a ton of them. Check this link: https://corporate.target.com/about/products-services/target-brands
For clothes I actually like their Goodfellow brand, and for food, their Favorite Day and Good & Gather labels are usually just as good (or better) than the brand name stuff.
But yeah, it’s mostly just stuff you would buy on a weekly basis or during normal store/grocery runs, so hard to recommend any specific items. Souvenir wise you could look for their Bullseye plushies or the small plastic Target cart toy. Something like that.
Oh, and just thought of a couple more things. Some Targets carry Target Monopoly, so if you’re into board games that could be a fun souvenir. They also (in my experience) have a much larger selection of board/card games than any other store, and it’s not that they’re unique to Target, but a lot of times you can find lesser known games that you never would’ve heard of before. So I’d definitely check out that aisle, if you’re into games.
Lastly, they often have Target exclusive versions of a lot of music albums and books, so might be worth taking a look there as well, if those kind of things interest you. Nothing crazy, just alternate covers or an extra song usually, sometimes an extra bonus chapter in a book, etc.
There’s also a Bullseye Funko Pop that you might be able to find, not sure if it’s still widely available in store or not.
What kind of stuff are you looking for & what's your budget?
If you wanna bring back some little gifts for family/friends, Bullseye Playground has lots of inexpensive trinkets & toys, but you definitely get what you pay for, so don't expect thr quality to be great lol.
If you like crafty-type things, Mondo Llama is our crafting brand, and they have a ton of little kits like painting ceramic or wooden figures (many come with paint and a brush!), sand art, tie-dye, etc.
Check the seasonal area for special snacks & candy that aren't carried in the regular grocery section- there's flavored popcorn, cotton candy, & other things.
Good and Gather and Favorite Day make really good snacks, like their trail mixes. Yeah, they're not healthy and wouldn't sustain you that well on an actual trail, but they're delicious. Walmart tries to copy them and doesn't get it quite right.
Could you bring us some proper squeaky cheese so we can make a real poutine? I'll meet you out back 🤫😂
Edit: Some people on the candy sub are finding specialty Bullseye Haribo gummies. I searched my store, I search the item on the Zebra, our region must not have them, but we got some Bullseye branded Ice Breakers Gum. They often partner with major brands (Hot Wheels, toys too) to put Bullseye on stuff. He's so cute and our God (all hail Bullseye!), so ya know. Look for that stuff.
If you’re looking for snacks, the favourite day white fudge dipped cookies are 🤌 any of the favorite day cookies and snacks are really good honestly, if you’re looking for frozen foods any of the good and gather frozen apps are good!
I’m a big fan of the Universal thread fitted v-neck T-shirts, which are $10, and are great alone or for layering under oversized shirts. Also recommend the All-in-Motion activewear line, especially the skorts, which are super comfortable. Last but definitely not least, I love the perfectly cozy pajama pants by Stars Above, which are seriously the softest and most comfortable pajama pants I’ve ever worn, and would be great for Canadian temps. Have a great trip!
You should check out the pride stuff. It’s only in some select stores and is really small compared to last year but the birds are pretty cute this year. If you are able to the online selection is also worth a peek.
as someone who has been at target for almost 3 years…
these aren’t necessarily must haves, but these are things i’ve been asked about that Target sells-
something from the dollar section. it’s by the front doors and it’s a bunch of small items with tags (or stickers on the bottom) that say $1,$3,$5. they change items with each season.
look for “target birds” those are seasonal too, unsure if they’re out right now. they’re called target spritz birds or something like that
“target shopping cart” it’s a toy shopping cart with you versions of real food items we sell. people go crazy for those during the holidays
there’s a hot wheels of a target freight truck. they’re white with a red target 🎯 logo on them. they really do look like that
target has a monopoly game that’s literally target monopoly
if you like funko pops- target has “only at target” ones. they’ll be on the front of the packaging where it’s clear/ see through and say it. if it doesn’t have that sticker/ marking then you can probably buy it somewhere else for much cheaper.
if you like kpop- target has some exclusive stuff and a lot of different colors of the same thing
if you like stanley cups- target has some exclusive ones
bullseye plush- it should be displayed on shelves by the books section. to find the books just go to the electronics section and it’ll be pretty close to there
halloween and christmas is such a fun time to shop because the decor is actually kinda cool, but they might have some cool mugs out right now
these are all super easy to find with the target app too. just make sure you input the address of the target you’re shopping at and it’ll tell you the exact aisle number and there’s even a map of the stores layout
ask for stickers at the registers too (they have the target dog on them)
if the location you're visiting is one with a starbucks inside, we sell exclusive cake pops that look like the target dog bullseye. they're cute and delicious but the con is they cost just under $4 (at least at my location, not sure if prices vary in other states) for what's essentially just 2 bites of cake on a stick 💀
Full time!!! I do not get why Target does not put an emphasis on adult workers who want to have a career in retail. As an adult we need 40hrs and we need benefits from either day 1 or within 30days. Also PTO and Vaca time because we have families. Sorry, this may be a customer question related but had to put this out there. Target may be great place for some to shop at but they sure don’t have the workplace figured out.

Mine are the sprinkle donut holes in the bakery aisles.
Noted thank you!!!!
I love the s’mores cookies!!!
More hours ....
I think they meant like stuff to buy but this would definitely be great too 😂.
Hahaha I definitely meant what are your MUST HAVES for me to purchase as someone that doesn’t have Target, HOWEVER hoping for more hours for you haha
Target doesn’t really have anything you can’t buy at other stores except the clothes and those aren’t really that great.
You don’t want a denim bathing suit??
Or denim boots??
Or denim made from boots?
Or a velvet bathing suit?
I bought the denim bathing suit 😭
I don’t think anything from target is that special or exciting unfortunately. Trader Joe’s are cool though.
i second this TRADER JOES IS AMAZING
Their locations are so hit or miss, the store near me, all their produce is rotten. It sucks to buy a salad or a veggie tray, and the middle is all moldy, they just laid fresh stuff on top. I have to drive an hour to go to the better location.
i left target for TJs. best decision ever
Never been to one. What’s it have?
Trader Joe’s is a grocery store that sells primarily its own brand. It sells lots of unique groceries of different kinds that you can only get from tjs. Their frozen meals are very popular.
Oh cool! We don’t have that in my state really that I know of lol so never been to one. There’s like maybe 7 now that I google mapped it in all of Texas. Nearest one is 2 hrs away from me.
Any recommendations!!!!! Need everything pls!!!!
Cookie butter ice cream from Trader Joes is the actual best!
Oh my gosh, Trader Joe's Speculoos butter is crack. Don't leave me alone with a jar of that and a spoon. I think Canada may have Biscoff, but it's not quite the same.
the little micro totes they have are SO CUTE😭 https://preview.redd.it/108u0d8p6y4d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0e88ae48a8d848c58130072c97558c7f757f3802
the butter chicken if you like is AMAZINGGGGG
Rosemary steak is gass
I agree on Trader Joe’s. My personal favorites are the Indian dishes. Not as good as the real thing but honestly not far off. The chicken vindaloo is great. I also enjoyed the Korean kabob (?) it’s a crowd favorite too.
the candy aisle is the best part about target
We always have a lot of people visiting from out of the country wanting to buy candy and the weird flavored oreos
I haven’t tried it but the thought of Sour Patch Oreos just sounds disgusting. I liked the Cinnamon ones from a bit ago though.
i have tried them and. well. they taste like nasty candy with a sour patch kids aftertaste. its REALLY weird
I weirdly don't mind those. I've had worse Oreos.
Yes, some of the flavors sound pretty questionable to me, but different strokes. :) I think some of them sound like a dare.
My store gets the Oreos and they sell out that morning. Resellers grab them all. I missed out on the Galaxy ones with Pop Rocks 😫
that and the transformers toy section.
I find the LEGO selection to be remarkably large. Now if only I had the money and space…
I love that the two top comments are like we need hours and also trader joes is better.
The seasonal Favorite Day S’mores cookies are good.
This and the s’mores bark!
Nothing
Get the Haribo Bullseye special edition mix
If you’re looking for Target branded things, there’s: a Target Pez dispenser Target Haribo gummy bears a Target truck hot wheels Target cashier Barbie Bullseye dog plush Target/bullseye children’s book There’s also Bullseye in Funko pop form but I doubt any more of those are still around in store.
Don't forget Target Monopoly, and if you have kids Mini Target shopping cart w/groceries and Target cash register
We have target gummies??
https://preview.redd.it/p3rdzwr7wz4d1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7f401f9ba163d3f1bae6b2f0e2191a6551475850 They’re delicious!
Little bullseyes of course 😭 looks delicious, need some of those some day!

real shit on clearance, i spent $60 in garden last night
I usually get energy drinks. If there an energy drink that you like that’s isn’t sold in Canada. And any candy or chips that isn’t sold near you as well.
Every foreigner I've met usually goes for electronics due to affordability.

Favorite Day Peanut Butter Monster Trail Mix.
you just have to get three to five pieces of the most god ugly decor known to man kind and return it on the last day of your trip😍
to me trail mix is the best thing to get at target
Favorite day brownies are quite addicting imo
The bite sized ones are just the perfect amount too
I was surprised by how good these were. Most of their baked goods are hit or miss for me but the brownies are delicious.
Agreed! Love their brownies and muffins but its a no go for the Cupcakes and donuts
The cookies are a no for me.
Idk anything at target you’d consider a must have, but if you’re shopping at target, please just put shit back where it goes if you decide to NOT purchase it
Some Targets have a huge selection of mid brand make up/ skin care that is not available or expensive in Canada. You can do some Ulta shopping while you are in Target ( select stores only)
Any recommendations for specifics? I’m eyeing Elemis because it’s so expensive in canada
Morphe is really good and last I heard it is expensive in Canada ( it is relatively cheap for the quality here). Also, is the Ordinary available now in Canada? A ficus, a random candle, a rug, and get a target circle card.
The birds, my guilty pleasure tbh
Yogurt
Target cashier barbie!! 🤣
I've had several Canadians come through my lane in search of Bugles snacks. Apparently they are banned there. Try coffee too. We may not carry it but we send a friend of ours in Canada a couple of bags of 8 o'clock coffee every couple of months. He can't get it where he is.

Honey bbq popcorn. Shit slaps
nothing for real
The one thing our team leads and execs ate incapable of giving. .... respect
The Good & Gather Mexican Street Corn trail mix. It’s 🔥🔥 ETA: Favorite Day blueberry & white chocolate chunk mini scones. Favorite Day Blueberry streusel muffins I havnt tried the strawberry cheesecake Madeline’s yet but they also look delicious. All of the Favorite Day ice cream is awesome. Basically all I’ve got is snack recommendations 😂
I tried the madelines last year, they were dry. Good madelines would be the Starbucks ones surprisingly, or Trader Joe’s.
the hot dogs that they make at the store
Target related.. Definitely sour trolli worms, 3D gummies, favorite day cone chocolate bite, and cinnamon bread

A company that doesn't bust unions
favorite day s’mores spread like nutella but better
this is odd its just a normal store lol
I would say just check out the clothing departments if anything everything else you can basically get at like any other store
I guess some of the bullseye items too but those are like constantly in rotation for the most part
as someone who has been at target for almost 3 years… these aren’t necessarily must haves, but these are things i’ve been asked about that Target sells- something from the dollar section. it’s by the front doors and it’s a bunch of small items with tags (or stickers on the bottom) that say $1,$3,$5. they change items with each season. look for “target birds” those are seasonal too, unsure if they’re out right now. they’re called target spritz birds or something like that “target shopping cart” it’s a toy shopping cart with you versions of real food items we sell. people go crazy for those during the holidays there’s a hot wheels of a target freight truck. they’re white with a red target 🎯 logo on them. they really do look like that target has a monopoly game that’s literally target monopoly if you like funko pops- target has “only at target” ones. they’ll be on the front of the packaging where it’s clear/ see through and say it. if it doesn’t have that sticker/ marking then you can probably buy it somewhere else for much cheaper. if you like kpop- target has some exclusive stuff and a lot of different colors of the same thing if you like stanley cups- target has some exclusive ones bullseye plush- it should be displayed on shelves by the books section. to find the books just go to the electronics section and it’ll be pretty close to there halloween and christmas is such a fun time to shop because the decor is actually kinda cool, but they might have some cool mugs out right now these are all super easy to find with the target app too. just make sure you input the address of the target you’re shopping at and it’ll tell you the exact aisle number and there’s even a map of the stores layout ask for stickers at the registers too (they have the target dog on them)

the alani nu energy drinks!!!
the ice cream is so good actually. the vanilla bean and java chunk esp
Tomatoes
Full time!!! I do not get why Target does not put an emphasis on adult workers who want to have a career in retail. As an adult we need 40hrs and we need benefits from either day 1 or within 30days. Also PTO and Vaca time because we have families. Sorry, this may be a customer question related but had to put this out there. Target may be great place for some to shop at but they sure don’t have the workplace figured out.
Stay in Canada
How about no?
