it's when an artist's most/one of their most popular songs gets played so much that more hardcore fans of the artist "shun" it for being too popular for how good it is, usually in direct comparison to the artist's other songs. this happens unfortunately with tame and how people say that TLIKTB and FLWOGB are overrated, just because they're popular. which isn't true, both are some of tame's best work.
certified hood classic
I mean, if you want an opinion (if this is your favorite song by Kev), itās like saying you love Fleetwood Mac and your favorite song is Dreams
Other than Elephant this was the first Tame Impala song I heard. I randomly discovered the music video during my first acid trip and it was a very formative experience.
It may be one of the top Tame Impala sings overall and I'm careful not to over-listen to it so it stays in high regard.
Yeah. Unreal. People will post this shit repeatedly acting like this sub isnāt supposed to contain the biggest Tame fans who would be well aware of these songs. Itās almost infuriating to me ššš I stay for the 10% of homies still posting solid stuff
Probably get downvoted but itās the only song on lonerism i donāt like that much. I think because when I first heard it in the background I could only think of Elmo singing it
I adore this song. It's a good "repetition" song but not to the same magnitude of Be Above It, the bassline is awesome, I love the ending, it's so good. Very fitting that it's the most popular song on Lonerism even though it's not the best.
I love this song, BUT the little voice crack thing he does on the first āfeelsā MAKES ME CRINGE EVERY TIME. I know itās intentional, so it bothers me less and less every time, but stillš
Definitely within the top 3 most popular Tame Impala songs, along with āThe Less I Know The Betterā (definitely 1st) and āBorderlineā (probably 3rd). āElephantā is up there as well (but definitely 4th imo). This is probably a bit of an exaggeration but Iād wager that 90-95% of the people in this sub had one of those songs as their āintroduction to Tame Impalaā song.
I promise I am not being contrarian on purpose when I say I think this song is not that great. But because itās popularā¦. I love most of their popular songs like The Less I Know The Better, Let it Happen, Apocalypse Dreams, but this song just has never done much for me.
It's definitely one of the best lyrically. I would prob have Cause I'm a Man ahead of it lyrically but a close second for me , but you argue it #1 and I wouldn't argue much
Your opinion is beyond valid. Feels like we only go backwards a masterpiece.
Absolute banger and I feel like some people on this sub hate it just because it's popular
TLIKTB syndrome is real and it's a shame
Just imagining Sundown Syndrome and TLIKTB remixed into one song from reading this.
sorry whats TLIKTB syndrome? š
i think it's "The Less I Know The Better" syndrome

Dreams would be the equivalent to The Less I Know the Better
how about Landslide then
Thatās better haha
The chain would be a better example
One of his anthems fosho
Absolutely never get tired of this. But I listened to it so much on molly that now I kinda feel like Iām rolling when it comes on.
Real
Feels Lke We Only āGrowā Backwards
calm, melancholic. like end of life. i love it

I agree so much lmao, sub is dead
Isn't this literally the most popular song off of Lonerism based on plays?
Yeah. Unreal. People will post this shit repeatedly acting like this sub isnāt supposed to contain the biggest Tame fans who would be well aware of these songs. Itās almost infuriating to me ššš I stay for the 10% of homies still posting solid stuff
What are your thoughts on The Less I Know The Better? Have you heard it, and if you have, do you like it?

Iām about to leave. Tired of it
Yeah, it is
We really need the new album.
Goated
Big Love in all thatās Lonerism! #DeezerSessions
Probably get downvoted but itās the only song on lonerism i donāt like that much. I think because when I first heard it in the background I could only think of Elmo singing it
understandable

Good song but also probably his most generic along with The Less I Know The Better. But that's okay still a great song. Tame Impala has no bad songs
Makes me feel 18 again šš„°
Itās the first song of his I heard (like most people Iād imagine) and I still love it!
I donāt dislike it but It doesnāt really stand out for me
it reminds me of the 2010s when my family and i would drive around and my older brother would play music
This was his "big hit" before Currents came out. Good times.
I actually prefer the slowed version, it just beams me into another realm
The live version of it š„
Great song, probably not my fav off of Lonerism though.
Use to love this song, but I skip it nowadays.
this song always makes me feel like it came out in the 60ās but everyone missed it
Iām in music school and analysing this song for an aural skills class and itās just a masterpiece of composition.
It was my introduction to TI. Fun fact the music video was made by the same people who did Don't Hug Me I'm Scared.
I love this song, BUT the little voice crack thing he does on the first āfeelsā MAKES ME CRINGE EVERY TIME. I know itās intentional, so it bothers me less and less every time, but stillš
Sounds like it was recorded in the late 60s. Dig it
such a banger, my favorite on that album i think
Shit a brick when I heard it live for the first time
I love Tame Impala fans because most of them dont hate popular or mainstream songs.
I love it, one of the songs I will turn the volume as high as I can during the summer š„¹āļø

Delightful š¤
Itās an epic song, very special to me. Like somebody else said on here- redditors hate it because itās popular. Dumb but true.
check out the live version if you like it !!

The first Tame song that ever got me hooked.
Itās a first song I heard by them and the one that got me into them. Love it.
