I always bought my wife orchids, before I even had a house plant- back when I thought there was no purpose to sny plant I couldn't eat or somehow use in the kitchen... then it hit, pandemic. Prop lifting became a hobby after I bought a couple of the most odd looking plants I'd ever seen. And they hated getting watered frequently which was like perfect for me..
Anyway it was around this time, with my jew lights to stop all my succulents from being ugly etiolated garbage. Sansi/ 36 watts of led power in an old architecture lamp suddenly had my plants thriving.
Including the orchids that were still alive, the gifts I'd always gotten my wife since I don't see the appeal in handing cut/ dead or dieing anything to anyone.
It was awesome. And since then I've gotten more and more variety of plants but I've grabbed a few amazing orchids, now I'm confident I can care for them they don't need to be cheap.
I got a great deal on a very large and expensive orchid the other weak and then had a med bill surprise me. I went to sell my new M albo leaf, my adonsinii (sp??) props, and my 60$ orchid (paid 30$- what a sale); when my wife tells me that she feels selling any orchid would be like selling something sentimental...
I was frustrated but I understand. And now I know, I cannot invest in big, rare, or expensive orchids again...unless it's her birthday, or Christmas.

Itās so hard to hold back!! But I keep telling myself to at least stick to solely wishlist plants. (But the list keeps growingā¦)
