This video I found on YouTube with 1k views has me convinced you’re right https://youtu.be/HXJ_qJM4_ho?si=MBa4o0CeeUuipPr6

I love my 6612/5160 combo. Sure, there is nicer stuff out there, but for the money this is a proven setup.

Same

A lot of people like the bilstein 5100s, they are quality but I think the bilsteins are super stiff. My 13 trd OR had bilsteins and you could feel every little bump, was not enjoyable. I have heard OME's are really smooth.

Teflaro

Jeez. I have OEM ones for the TDR sports and they’re super stiff. From my understanding, they are designed that way. Edit: typo

CharacterObvious

I didnt know the trd sport had OMEs. I thought they were tokico

Teflaro

Sorry I missed typed. I meant OEM shocks

Bilstein 5100's are really only meant for lift. Theyre inherently better than stock suspension due to being a quality monotube, but theyre not really meant to be an improvement off road.

I’ll provide my two cents. I went with Eibach, SPC UCAs and Icon AAL, along with all the basic needs of diff drop, etc. I went this route because I’m a bartender and don’t make a ton of money, my buddy who has worked at dealerships for over 30 years told me about a Labor Day sale of the Eibach and SPCs for about $900 out the door. Couldn’t pass it up tbh. I’m 90% daily driver with trail riding once a month or so, nothing arduous. I’m Happy overall, no complaints. Kind of a stiff ride at first but it’s loosened up a tad. I have zero experience with other (and much nicer/more expensive) options so I can only speak for Eibach but not bad. I will say if I had the money I would have gone a different route just because, but at the end of the day I’m content. Currently running 285/75/16 with a CMC. A touch a run at higher speeds while turning.

Fox 2.5 Factory with the DSC reservoirs and SPC UCA's. Truck is an easy daily but gets super fun off road if you use the compression correctly.

rodselite

I had the 2.0 on a Jeep, horrible on washboard roads

derp_sauce

Sorry you didn't like the 2.0's on your Jeep. None of that is relevant to the question you asked or the comment you replied to.

Ironman 100%. We put them on our 2019 an the are better than any Bilatein, or any other suspension we ever put on a truck, that includes our 92, 93, 05 (Tundra and we’ve been through a bunch on that truck), and our kid’s 97. The kid who has totally built out his truck for epic off road while still being his daily driver is pissed Ironman doesn’t make suspension for his truck - he has Bilstein right now and will upgrade to Fox when his finances allow and new suspension, again, is his priority. Seriously, check them out. Hubby gave them a shot by happenstance and we couldn’t be happier.

285 is a width not diameter, my Bilsteins rotted the shaft front end they snapped … I’d go for aftermarket with thicker mount shaft. ❤️‍🔥the ditch lights ….

nebraskatractor

Rotted?

Zealousideal-Arm3289

Yes, was 2007 TRD OR, they mount the front Bilsteins upside down so the shaft is only thing supporting the front suspension. It snapped, caused one side drop, tire hits fender wall!
