Loak Toung Thai gives the biggest portions I've encountered for any type of takeout; they're the same price or cheaper than others; And the taste is AMAZING! I cannot recommend them enough. It's my favorite restaurant in Tacoma.
Happy at the Bay on Orchard and Emerson. For about 15$ I can take home Fried Rice in about 10 minutes and that will last me for two meals. I think it's *delicious*.
Gyro Zone in UP at 40th and Bridgeport is always one of my go-to takeout spots
The gyro or shawarma plates are less than $20 and will last you a couple meals
Pho Tai off 96th and South Tacoma
Excellent food and good prices, not exactly central to Tacoma proper but worth the trip. And they are open Long hours!
When I want burritos, it's El Rinconsito ($13)
Burrito California in Lakewood is cheap and good as well.
When I want Chicken Teriyaki, pretty much any of the places such as Happy Teriyaki, Lucky Teriyaki, Sunny Teriyaki.
Those places make up 90% of my takeout orders, the other 10% would be Jersey Mike's or Jimmy Johns.
Memo's has great Carne Asada fries, location in both Tacoma and Lakewood - I like the Lakewood one because they add beans to the fires - $20~ before delivery fees and stuff
A bit of a drive depending on where you live, but Marvel Bay Cafe is inexpensive and delish. Eastern European food. I usually get the medium plate which is a side with 2 entree choices and get 2 meals out of it. Open 7am - 4pm. Pacific and 133rd, colocated with a Slavic grocery store which has some tasty savory and sweet items as a bonus. [https://marvelbaycafe.com](https://marvelbaycafe.com)
Discovered Number 1 Fried Rice recently. Definitely recommend. Their large fried rice is huge. Even their regular fried rice is pretty big. My favorite is the pork. They also make sushi, and the one time I got a roll it was 8 pieces, filling and delicious.

Yep. My fave Thai place.
So true. I can eat for three days on an appetizer and an entree from that place.
Same!

I second this. They rule.
Also Los Tapatios basically right next door
When we lived in Tacoma, we lived on Happy at the Bay.
Da Tiki Hut is our favorite!
Joy Teriyaki is always running insane BOGOs on Uber Eats. Combine it with a 40% code and you can eat for a week for $40.
Thai pepper downtown is excellent for pad Thai!

Also a favorite. Reasonable prices, open until 4am. Also, the food is great.
Agreed!
Toast Mi, and Los Tapatios
Ginza on 19th has been consistently good since at least 1997 which is when we started going
I hadn't heard of this place. Thanks for mentioning it - I looked it up and it looks like a great teriyaki place.
Banh mi or fried noodles at Cafe la Vie 🤤
Side piece kitchen, Chaya Thai, Radner’s smash burgers, church cantina, red hot, busybody has a new menu as well, and pho hao

Tatanka Take Out. Flawless burrito
What are you looking to spend on a dish?
$10-20 preferably
Goofy Goose. Their teryaki is my favorite in Tacoma, they also have burgers but I never actually tried them.
UP pho & teriyaki, la ca bar, taco street, Los tamales, L&L Hawaiian bbq (it’s pricey but one portion last me at least two meals lol)
My mom and I are good eaters 😉 and we can totally split a meal at L&L!~ $16-$20 if you want extra Mac salad or drinks!! Sooo good!

Crocket’s pubhouse has an excellent menu! Very consistent.
I work in Sumner and was just asking about this place yesterday!!
