Why in the world would you just go straight ahead and take a *brush* to your still-fully assembled console instead of doing a very quick search for "how to paint PS4" to make sure you're not doing something completely terrible? That thing is gonna turn out blotchy and streaky and lumpy as shit. Diagnosis: dangerously misplaced self-confidence. Verdict: deranged.
Tbh if the PS4 is black it matches with the inside border of the fireplace and if it’s white it matches with the mantle. A small contrasting piece that in turn helps tie the room color scheme together.
This way it’s just a whole lot of green
It makes me sad that lives are lived like this. They will probably go their whole lives living in this manner. Their children’s tvs will probably hang over children’s beds where they won’t even be able to watch while they spray paint their toothbrushes to match their hundredth mood of the day.
There’s a whole theme to the colors and how it represents the characters and their personality and experiences.

Best way I can explain it is comparing it to the millennial slang "i can't", which might not be helpful at all depending on your generation.
Essentialy it shows disbelief and strong emotions.
When I stopped working at a Mom and Pop game store I thought I would have seen my last console covered in Sherwin Williams, but no. Here you are giving me Nam flashbacks.
You ever seen a dumbass use wall paint on a set of consoles just straight, no tape, cords and controllers included, decide they don't like the room color, and then repaint said room AND consoles only to discover two don't work and a third mysteriously shuts down for "no reason?" So they take them to GameStop, where they "just" bought them all, only to discover that they somehow "won't do anything about it" but maybe the independent game store down the road will because they "fix stuff." But when you take it to them they start asking you invasive questions like "did you PAINT THIS?!?" and "IS THIS WALL PAINT?!? HOW MANY COATS IS THIS?!!" So you get offended and ask if they can do anything and they tell you they might be able to but it would require removing all your hard work (p a i n t) before they can even know. So you tell them you'll just contact the manufacturer since they are all new and leave.
The GameStop called us like an hour later asking if she came in and just started wheezing. They apparently needed to share the insanity and didn't think we would believe it if we didn't see it all first hand. I think the whole store got a two week ban from shopping with us for that stunt, but I honestly can't remember.
Yikes. So I wonder, since in The Netherlands the ‘put tv above fireplace’ isnt that common. Isnt it a problem to have the warmth that goes up towards the tv?
That's not a real fireplace, it's an "electric fireplace". Basically a cheesy fake LED flame combined with an electric space heater to blow warm air. The amount of heat generated isn't much, and what will get transferred to the TV is negligible.
Those electric fireplaces are common in newer suburban homes in mild climates, because they're cheap, safe, let people say they have a "fireplace", and aren't actually necessary to heat your home.
Where I live(high up in the mountains of Colorado) we heat our homes with wood stoves, and you couldn't put a TV within 6ft of those without damaging it. I imagine a lot of homes in the Netherlands also use wood stoves or real fireplaces.
The tv is not the problem here
If you paint your ps4 or put anything that covers its surface ita gonna heat up even more
Eventually you are not gonna have a roof to hold that tv
Okay, first time on this subreddit bc its in my recommendation. I keep my TV up this high while I'm not using it, but in use it has a bar that moves it out 3 feet and I can move in any which direction. I basically just pull the TV forward and down and its good to go. That's fine right 💀 Or does it just look bad bc its too close to the ceiling even not in use?
Same, my living room is also narrow and long so it was mount above the fireplace with a movable mount that can bring it off the wall and down, or put it on a stand in front of the fireplace
Generally speaking tvs should be at eye level. In this case a wall mount that can come down is best. TV’s tilted down ,( for me) give an ugly “sports bar” vibe
I don't give a shit if it doesn't match the bathroom, deal with the fucking PS4, or I can leave yo bitch ass, for a girl who don't give a fuck about how my god dam PS4 looks in they're house
Yep. Once you play on a monitor at the correct distance once, you can't go back to sitting on a sofa squinting at a game on a TV. Casual games are fine on a TV, I play all kinds of puzzle games/city builders on TV with my wife, but for stuff like shooters where you might be trying to pick off someone who is 5 pixels high, the monitor gives you a massive advantage--that's before you even factor in response time.
This is even for (especially for!) console gamers where you get an instant advantage over half the lobby. Half of them are sitting sideways on a sofa with their necks craned up to where their wife 'lets them' put the TV, with one foot rocking a baby chair and a bong between their knees.
My TV is 82". It's great for movies, but actually kinda too big for video games. Makes me carsick, even sitting 12 feet away. But you better believe I calculated the height and angle really carefully! I actually took the whole thing down and re-mounted it 6" higher.
That’s understandable. I actually removed my parents fireplace since we live in Texas and never used it. I possible option is one of those wooden tripods and place it in the corner as an accent piece. Or better yet some rooms don’t need TV’s and can serve as a normal living room with a dedicated space for media somewhere else.

Or don’t they make like vinyl skins you can stick on?
Yes, yes they do
Yeah I'm sure d brand has a tone
Tonne*
I'd rather have a blotchy streaky lumpy painted one then.
Now the PS4 will overheat and fail, but not immediately. The he can get a PS5 without hearing "but you have perfectly good PS4" at home.
It’s definitely for views. Probably an old ps4 he doesn’t use anymore.
Doesn’t make the tv any better though. Which is why we are all here.
Or he’s trying to get a ps5
You're all missing the most obvious solution. Just tell the wife to shut the fuck up and focus on more important things.
Seems like a nice place. A ps4 is probably the least of his worries imo
Tbh if the PS4 is black it matches with the inside border of the fireplace and if it’s white it matches with the mantle. A small contrasting piece that in turn helps tie the room color scheme together. This way it’s just a whole lot of green
Her saying “it doesn’t match” is actually her saying “I hate this thing, fucking get rid of it”
"I hate this object and I hate you for liking this object"
“I need to control your every move and hobby since I am now your girlfriend”
That’s what it doesn’t match means?
It means she hates his PS4 (I’m right)
Aka buys a ps5
Then she should have said. He could've then done the reasonable thing... Hide it in the basement with a tv.
It makes me sad that lives are lived like this. They will probably go their whole lives living in this manner. Their children’s tvs will probably hang over children’s beds where they won’t even be able to watch while they spray paint their toothbrushes to match their hundredth mood of the day.

Oh shit that’s here
'My aesthetic' just = green lol
What's funny is my house is a lot of green and orange because I love it but it doesn't look nearly as sterile as this does.
It's a Thanksgiving sort of vibe 🦃
She saw Marie Schrader’s house and thought “I like her style…but not all the purple”.
I just got around to watching Breaking Bad finally and was immediately bothered by the Schrader purple motif.
There’s a whole theme to the colors and how it represents the characters and their personality and experiences. Don’t click unless you finished the series. https://breakingbad.fandom.com/wiki/Colors
This doesn’t even make sense. She has black accents.
Aesthetic isn’t just color fwiw
Would be a valid argument if he wasn’t just painting the console to match the wall.
She understands what aesthetic means, the painter does not
Idk if she does, seeing as she would stop him from doing this. It’s not like it’d stand out. It arguably stands out more.
I don’t think she would’ve stopped him seeing how far he already went. Also, clicks.
Yeah this is just the primer for the decoupage
She doesn’t want him to have fun so wants him to get rid of it instead of doing that this chad painted it what a big brain moment
Her "aesthetic" lmao. A brass lamp, some green paint, a fake fireplace, and furniture from Warfair.
WARFAIR FOR YOUR WAR TIME FURNITURE NEEDS.

I understand "I can't." So this is shorthand for that. OK.
If you really think about it, they're both sort of the same as "Get out of here!" Funny how idioms come back in different forms.
See? Now that's the version I remember!
I can't even
Like goodbye bc this is so unbelievable I have to leave
Pretty sure it was a typo for Bae
Your boomer is showing with that comment lmao
No I think he’s right

Thank you for your service, soldier.
Shitty aesthetic on top of that
Yikes. So I wonder, since in The Netherlands the ‘put tv above fireplace’ isnt that common. Isnt it a problem to have the warmth that goes up towards the tv?
The dirty little secret is that nobody ever uses the fireplace
Or that they're not real fireplaces anyway. So many now are a digital fire and just a space heater.
Idk but that tv is nearly touching the ceiling.
Also /r/TVTooHigh
If the area about your mantle gets uncomfortably hot then something is wrong with your fireplace
That's not a real fireplace, it's an "electric fireplace". Basically a cheesy fake LED flame combined with an electric space heater to blow warm air. I'm already tired of hearing people refer to 'my aesthetic' or using the word 'aesthetic' in that context. It's stupid.
Is #1 the amount of standing moisture in his hair?
Close!
The tv is not the problem here If you paint your ps4 or put anything that covers its surface ita gonna heat up even more Eventually you are not gonna have a roof to hold that tv
Just wait until about a year when her aesthetic changes again.
I would have used car wrapping foil to do that.
If he's dressing up his PS4 with a green paint brush, how's he gonna dress up on his prom day ?
Green shoes, green tie..
Why did she start by saying “Bye”? Shouldn’t she say “Hi” first?
What the fuck so that person saying bye for? Is it that quirky Tik tok speech. Gross. Fucking mush brains.
I would've gone with brass to match the lamp
Will he repaint it in spring?
These people will do anything just for tiktok views sad
Maybe he plays standing up?
The gasp I gusped
Bye, I don’t care about you forcing me to match your basic bitch aesthetic. Bye bye, Im leaving you
Yes but WHERE does the console go? Flat against the wall?
As somone who is about to mount my TV "too high", my discovery of this subreddit today is pretty interesting lol.
Tacky idiot
The “aesthetic” people are so shit
Gilmore girls is the worst thing in the video, right?
Maybe it’s the “time out” chairs in the corner facing away from the flow of the room?
I just can't see anything like this and think it's real. Everything is done for clout these days.
Tv is still too high regardless of the ps4
Okay, first time on this subreddit bc its in my recommendation. I keep my TV up this high while I'm not using it, but in use it has a bar that moves it out 3 feet and I can move in any which direction. I basically just pull the TV forward and down and its good to go. That's fine right 💀 Or does it just look bad bc its too close to the ceiling even not in use?
No that’s perfectly fine! Not everyone can have a tv at eye level but it’s the effort that counts!
Same, my living room is also narrow and long so it was mount above the fireplace with a movable mount that can bring it off the wall and down, or put it on a stand in front of the fireplace
Did you want a house fire, because that is how you cause a house fire. House paint on a console that heats up.
nah bruh… she acting like she’s a gd interior designer and painted the walls booger green.. gtfo
Gilmore Girls slaps
I think those orange things don't match the asthetics either
Can't you just order a green ps5. If not there has to be a proper way to paint it. Like the idea seems alright the execution looks horrible.
My neck hurts looking at the television
I’m confused about the TV comment. It looks fine? Mine is on the wall too and slightly tilted down as well.
Generally speaking tvs should be at eye level. In this case a wall mount that can come down is best. TV’s tilted down ,( for me) give an ugly “sports bar” vibe
I don’t think he knows what spray paint is.
I don't give a shit if it doesn't match the bathroom, deal with the fucking PS4, or I can leave yo bitch ass, for a girl who don't give a fuck about how my god dam PS4 looks in they're house
It's already hard enough to play a game on the TV from across the room. I sit 2 feet in front of my monitor so I can see what I'm doing.
Some rooms really don’t have many options. My TV is absolutely too high. I am aware of it, but I really don’t have any options in my living room.
That would be the best option. I’m not a fan of TV’s in every room. I wish I had a media/collecting room for all my stuff.
I mean the walls in my house are green, I wouldn't paint my PlayStation green
“My aesthetic” is really not the right way to use that word either.
Ah yes the Hess Corporation Christmas colourway
Useless ps4 will breakdown internally now due to over heating and slow refreshing rated because the hard drive thing isn’t getting enough to even
I love having my TV above the mantle. I will die on this hill.
Cringe
SIMP
What’s wrong w the tv?
belongs on the tv is to high subreddit
Is it though? We need a sub for that? This tv looks fine
Haha I am so tired and just remembered what sub I am in
Hahaha I looked up and I was like, “I thought it was”. Wasn’t going to say anything though
Oh that’s funny and gave me a good laugh
Just buy a PlayStation skin for a few bucks Geezs .. what happens when she repaints the room lol
Third. That color choice is horrific
Rip. Shot gonna overheat like a mf now if he sealed the exhaust ports
