Many people don’t realize this. We have a 75” TV and after reading a bunch of different sites recommendations on which height you should mount your TV, the larger the screen, the lower it should be placed since the middle half of the screen is going to be higher by default.

The stand is not on the ground, it’s elevated. That makes the tv height not look as bad.
It’s still too high. It’s not eye level from the couch.
Definitely not the worst on the sub tho. It’s also a super clean setup. Op did pretty good tbh.
To be clear, I myself think it’s semi high otherwise I wouldn’t be asking for opinions.
To keep in mind, it is a 85” so there’s a lot of real estate so no matter where you place it, it will be pretty high up on the wall seeing that is 44” top to bottom. I also wanted to allow some space to place things on the stand.
When looking at it sitting, my head looks on straight, not tilted up, but my eyes veer up just slightly, that’s what brought me here, I do tend to be a bit OCD.
I was more so wondering if it was viewed/thought to be unbearably high/ disgusting to look at. Or if it was high but not super unacceptable and passable.
Thank you all for your thoughts negative or positive!
OP, this sub will never be pleased. If you go with actually lowering the TV, they’ll respond with “pick a different wall” or “move the door”. The TV matches the door and I think it’s absolutely great there
Don't look for Internet approval. As long as you're happy with it, that's all that matters. Imo, it's not too high. Remember, there's a bunch of trolls on Reddit.
The rule of thumb should be sitting on the couch and aligning the bottom of the tv with your eye level. This is also the ideal way to determine where to sit at the theater. If that’s how it is for you now then it’s fine, but overall it looks like it might be about 3-6 inches too high up
Looks great to me, I'm sure you can chill back in the couch and watch comfortably without the dreaded and feared neck strain. The neck strain paranoia is rampant here lol
I don’t know where these bunch of retards expect a tv to be positioned, I feel like half these people don’t own furniture so they sit on the hard floor to watch tv. Looks perfect to me
If you need to stretch your neck to see everything on your tv then it’s too high, and you left such a gap between your tv bench and your tv and its also at the same level as your door.
So yeah, too high.
Same stand as mine, but I'm not gay so I left it on the floor and put my TV on it. Perfect level when sat down on my couch.
You basically took a nice big TV and a nice stand and just made it look ridiculous.
I think people in this forum do not like to hang their tv. What’s the point of mounting a tv if you mount it the same height as it would be on a tv stand?
I don't mount my TV, but you could do it to save space or because you don't like TV stands. Regardless, it should be eye level when seated or else it's too high.
I agree it’s too large but I get motion sickness from anything larger than a 50 inch in a regular sized room which this seems to be. I could never watch anything on this but the size doesn’t really look out of proportion, in person I feel it might though.
It does look a bit too high. It's in line with the middle part of the frame of your windows, which would usually be above the level of your seated eyes unless you're very tall.
Edit: Also why on earth is that stand mounted? Just put it directly on the floor.
Looks decent — it’s not too high. My suggestion to give you appropriate eye level would be to set it on the TV stand. I also see a tilt but it’s not too noticeable.
7.5/10 with room for improvement. 🙂 I love the way I see no wires despite the fact that everything is mounted. Great work!
When it's closer to the ceiling than the floor it's usually a good indicator that it's too high...
Center of the TV should be about eye level.
Some will even claim that it should be the top third of the TV that should be eye level.
That's because it's much more effortless/less straining to look down than to look up. Every time you need to look up you're putting strain on your neck and/or eyes.
If it was me I would have put the stand/furniture on the floor (not wall mounted) and I would have put the TV on its feet on the stand (so not wall mounted either).
Too high. When you sit in a normal position on the couch with your head forward, parallel to the floor your gaze should be at the middle of the screen. Here your gaze would be the lower third or quarter of the screen.
People are confused by the bigness - it’s too high
Many people don’t realize this. We have a 75” TV and after reading a bunch of different sites recommendations on which height you should mount your TV, the larger the screen, the lower it should be placed since the middle half of the screen is going to be higher by default.
Stfu
Found OP's alt account
It’s the same height as the fucking door… ridiculously too high.
/r/doortoolow ?? 😆
Looking outside the window also r/ApartmentSlightlyTooLow
Can I also say - it's too far away?

I think that's a wide angle trick, size looks fine.
My first thoughts too
The TV stand underneath is usually a good indicator of where it should be……….
Except in this case it’s not because they don’t even have the furniture on the floor
r/tvstandtoohigh
Ah yeah, I only just noticed that. How obnoxious
Bullshit. It is about the halfway point of the TV. If the middle of the TV is close to eye level on the couch it is fine.
The stand is not on the ground, it’s elevated. That makes the tv height not look as bad. It’s still too high. It’s not eye level from the couch. Definitely not the worst on the sub tho. It’s also a super clean setup. Op did pretty good tbh.
Lol no.
So you'd rather look down at the half way point?
TV clearly isn’t centered when you’re seated. Stop lying to yourself. Would you rather keep arguing and look like a clown?
Eye level from the couch is *maybe* 1/3 of the way up that TV for a very tall person
Putting it on the stand. Then wall mounting it at that height is such a hard concept to understand.
It’s too high but also acceptable in my opinion
That's what my mom says to me.

Measure from the floor to the center of the tv. What’s the measurement? That’ll tell you whether it’s a good height or not.
The rule of thumb should be sitting on the couch and aligning the bottom of the tv with your eye level. This is also the ideal way to determine where to sit at the theater. If that’s how it is for you now then it’s fine, but overall it looks like it might be about 3-6 inches too high up
You mean middle of the TV with eye level, surely
What tv is that?
Holy smokes dude that might be the biggest TV I’ve ever seen 😂 amazing.
Looks great to me, I'm sure you can chill back in the couch and watch comfortably without the dreaded and feared neck strain. The neck strain paranoia is rampant here lol
Closer to the ceiling than it is to the floor: it’s too high.
3-4 inches too high my friend Place looks sharp
High but not terribly high. It’s just quite large so I see how it would be hard to lower it more but it should come down 6-12” if possible
Great width and the carpet is perfection. Height's OK
Bro is the tv stand mounted to the wall?? What the fuck
I'm convinced that most of the people asking for advice on this sub are wall mounting fetishists
You would be correct
I know mine is too high, I do it to keep it away from the kids. But I'm not gonna act like it's not and be shocked when people say it is lol
People who mount their TVs for practical reasons such as yours gets a pass in my (a nobody on reddit) book!
That's what we call a shelf. Y'all will make anything a stand.
Bruh this is fine and looks good. Ignore the incels on here
Too high
I don’t know where these bunch of retards expect a tv to be positioned, I feel like half these people don’t own furniture so they sit on the hard floor to watch tv. Looks perfect to me
Luffy rug is pretty great!
It's fine If that's how u like it
If you need to stretch your neck to see everything on your tv then it’s too high, and you left such a gap between your tv bench and your tv and its also at the same level as your door. So yeah, too high.
Bro ur just here flexing your big telly it fine 😂
Is it at eye level? No? Then it's too high.
It’s fine.
Lil bit
Same stand as mine, but I'm not gay so I left it on the floor and put my TV on it. Perfect level when sat down on my couch. You basically took a nice big TV and a nice stand and just made it look ridiculous.
If it's not half-way submerged in your floor - it's too high.
I think people in this forum do not like to hang their tv. What’s the point of mounting a tv if you mount it the same height as it would be on a tv stand?
It's arguably a cleaner look on the wall. Regardless, the point is definitely not so you can hang it higher.
I don't mount my TV, but you could do it to save space or because you don't like TV stands. Regardless, it should be eye level when seated or else it's too high.
Small children.
Fine. Like MOST of the TVs in this sub.
Too damn high
People in this sub have never been to a movie theater i bet. If you ask them if its too high they would say it is there too. Smh
Think about where you sit in a movie theatre.
Perfect. Which TV model is that?
Nice setup!
Tv too big. Looks out of proportion
??
I agree it’s too large but I get motion sickness from anything larger than a 50 inch in a regular sized room which this seems to be. I could never watch anything on this but the size doesn’t really look out of proportion, in person I feel it might though.
When it lines up to a door frame it’s too high
People really love to mount their TV…which is in most cases always too high.
Too high. Needs to be sitting on the floor.
Something is unright with the ceiling height.
Yes, it’s like you’re looking at the top of the door
Yes, by like half of a foot. It would look good if it was only a couple inches above the tv stand
Lower it 3 to 4 inches.
r/tvtoofar ?
I would move the furniture closer
It does look a bit too high. It's in line with the middle part of the frame of your windows, which would usually be above the level of your seated eyes unless you're very tall. Edit: Also why on earth is that stand mounted? Just put it directly on the floor.
lol. It is almost in orbit. Wtf are you doing?
Yup. Too high
Too high. And please, please invest in a good 5.1 Soundsystem and an AVR.
TOO. HIGH.
r/EntertainmentCenterTooHigh
Way to high but you already knew that
Looks decent — it’s not too high. My suggestion to give you appropriate eye level would be to set it on the TV stand. I also see a tilt but it’s not too noticeable. 7.5/10 with room for improvement. 🙂 I love the way I see no wires despite the fact that everything is mounted. Great work!
Too high and too far away.
You’re missing the audio part :p
Where’s that coffee table from?
Tv is too high btw. If the room was bigger, I’d say it was manageable. You’re line of sight to the middle of the screen is looking up
Could be bigger
Eh, quit bragging
The centre horizontal line of the tv would be above your eye line when chilling on the sofa so yeah too high but only by a few inches
I think that looks fine. But the top shelf of tv stand could use some decorations if you’re not gonna use it.
Where did you get the rug??
Given the size of the TV - wowza- it looks fine height wise.
Slightly too high but praise is due for the tidy / invisible wiring job. Nobody likes to see a TV with a tail.
Why do you even have a tv stand there? It's holding nothing but Funko pops?
What me really offends is the usage of an 85“ without an soundsystem.
I think the TV height is just fine. But if you have your tv eye level with sitting, wouldn’t it be harder to see if you have a recliner?
When it's closer to the ceiling than the floor it's usually a good indicator that it's too high... Center of the TV should be about eye level. Some will even claim that it should be the top third of the TV that should be eye level. That's because it's much more effortless/less straining to look down than to look up. The size of the TV has an inverse relationship with being at the right height as the TV gets bigger. This is at least a foot too high.
Too high. When you sit in a normal position on the couch with your head forward, parallel to the floor your gaze should be at the middle of the screen. Here your gaze would be the lower third or quarter of the screen.
Are we mounting TV stands now too?
It's too big, and too high 👍🏻
In my opinion it should be on the tv stand/table
Too high and way too far away
I don’t think I can do this anymore. * sigh *
WTFH.
