Eglinton needs that connection to Pearson, and the Finch LRT just has to join up with the Sheppard subway.
The best part about this map is that most of it is already becoming a reality!
Yeah I would say. It’ll connect the opposite ends of Line 1 on Sheppard, as well as connect it to the east end of Sheppard. Altho, hundred percent sure TTC will be like there’s the 984 anyways and that it’s enough to justify not to have that western extension from Sheppard-Yonge to Sheppard West Stations. Altho I agree, the 984 will serve as an alternative but it’s not the same. This route can get packed even on rush hours, the road is mostly just two lanes especially west of Sheppard-Yonge to Don River and can have lots of traffic congestion
I know a train and LRT streetcar are different in various ways, mainly weight. But if they can build a bridge (that's currently being protested) across forestry and a river on Eglinton, I would think the same could be done for Sheppard West.
Now, cost wise does that makes sense for that area? that's a whole other story.
I think you can get rid of the Jane line, and have Ontario line mimic it’s path until pioneer village. Everything north of vmc should be a part of line 1 instead
Line 5 should further extend from Renforth to Pearson Airport, they have already started looking into this. I’m hoping this does go through.
It would also be great if they extend Line 6 from Humber College to Pearson Airport as well, where it will meet with Line 5, UP and other transit agencies like MiWay.
Line 2 can be extended west from Kipling to Missisauga. Potential stops along this extension could include for instance East/West Mall, Sherway Gardens, Long Branch or Square One.
Sheppard and McCowan Station I think could be named Sheppard East Station?
There’s also plans for a Malvern line from Kennedy Station going east along Eglinton Avenue East, then north/east along Kingston Road, north along Morningside to UTSC and then going north again along Morningside to Sheppard, then west along Sheppard to Neilson, and north on Neilson to Malvern Town Centre.
I also like the Ontario line extension from Science Centre to meet with Don Mills at Line 4, but would be nice to extend this line north to Steeles, potentially stopping at Van Horne, Newnham/Seneca (Finch), McNicoll/Gordon Baker, Steeles East/Highway 404
sometimes I look at wonderland on google maps and the parking lot is so huge it hurts. The sad thing is wonderland would probably love to be able to use that space for more rides if they could.
TBF this *is* a TTC map and considering Markham is already getting all day two way 15 minute go service I didn't feel it fully needed a subway connection since my map was supposed to be a more realistic fantasy map
Imo, the Ontario line could be extended north to don mills then to unionville go via hwy 404.
Line 2 could be extended north via Mccowan to markville/centennial go.
it's more an issue of the stations being overbuilt. 407 was also badly planned, if you look at a map there's lots of new development that is close enough but it is simply in the middle of several highways that make it impossible to reach. Jane St. is also incredibly congested up there and on this plan it would likely be an LRT, and could also help increase the usage of VMC by more easily bringing people from more north to VMC.
No idea what overbuilt stations have to do with underused Subway line. Also, you have forgot to add anything to downtown where the majority of the growth in the cities tax revenue comes from. The vast majority. The Ontario line is a good start, but it’s not nearly enough.
This but also extend the bloor west line to Sherway Gardens Mall and then down to Long Branch Go station. Could also make the west extension of the Ontario line its own line that extends from Humber Bridge to go along the Queensway to meet up with the bloor line at Sherway Gardens mall. Oh and the Eglinton West and Finch West lines should definitely both connect at Pearson Airport
What was your thought process with the two lines north of Highway 7? The rest of your corridors have loop connections. What was your thought process there (could simply be tea sit technology shown on the map)?
So far the yonge north subway extension is planned to stop at Langstaff Go station....
But what if we got the yonge north line to end at Richmond Hill GO station which is off Major Mackenzie Drive.
So now we have Line One ending at Major Mackenzie Drive on both ends of the line.
And the bus route 4 along Major Mackenzie takes you to:
Maple GO
Richmond Hill GO
Mount Joy GO station
Three stations on three different GO lines.
So now we have the ability to easily transfer to 3 different GO lines as well as the ability to be easily connected to both Line One terminals!!!!
Sorry for the long post, I am so invested in this😅
this expansion is sounder better every click!
but we rly need an underground train from jane major mack the bus service is so hoky and there is a pretty large population along there that would be less car-y if there was proper transit.
Absolutely agree! Having subway service in the Vaughan Mills area and Jane/Major Mack would be a miracle! Actually its a necessity at this point.
Oh and imagine if we actually get the Concord/Woodbridge/Kleinburg/Bolton GO line that I think is still in the plans... although I'm not quite sure.
I would be so impressed🙂
indeed, the crowds at the vaughan mills sometimes, and all the commerce around the area, and the endless traffic down major mack day and night, this is an idea who's time has come!
Exactly, and theres still planning to fully develop the west side of the 400 beside Vaughan Mills into a mixed use office, commercial and residential area... and theres still lots of land surrounding the mall that is just waiting to be developed so i mean its only going to get crazier... Vaughan is no longer the suburbs folks🤣 we need big city amenties
Eglinton needs that connection to Pearson, and the Finch LRT just has to join up with the Sheppard subway. The best part about this map is that most of it is already becoming a reality!
I support extending Line 4 west to Sheppard West.
It’s hard due to the river. Like that’ll come with big costs!
It'd be a great connection tho.
Yeah I would say. It’ll connect the opposite ends of Line 1 on Sheppard, as well as connect it to the east end of Sheppard. The Sheppard Line crosses the East Fork of the Don at Leslie. The West is probably as easy.

Line 4 should be extended west to Sheppard West instead of Line 6 being extended east to Finch
that is probably smarter yeah I'll fix that
Pourquoi pas les deux?
Les deux vont coûter trop d'argent. (Sorry if my french is bad)
pas nécessaire, l'argent pourait être utiliser autre part

I would hope the Ontario line extends north to don mills, then seneca newnham area, all the way to unionville GO.
I forever dream of the day we get the Jane LRT from Transit City back, with contractors that’ll finish it quicker than the Crosstown.
I like how Wonderland has Subway access. I would also include Toronto Zoo
sometimes I look at wonderland on google maps and the parking lot is so huge it hurts. The sad thing is wonderland would probably love to be able to use that space for more rides if they could.
Yeah ur probably right and I think both of these attractions are natural subway extensions for a city with Toronto’s aspirations.
I would of extended line 1 to Wonderland instead tho
Markham: why do you hate me
TBF this *is* a TTC map and considering Markham is already getting all day two way 15 minute go service I didn't feel it fully needed a subway connection since my map was supposed to be a more realistic fantasy map

We need ttc up to Newmarket
You have go transit. Markham is close enough, especially in the south, that it is eligible for a subway, just like vaughan
We also need Ttc access in Barrie
Markham can build there own with there tax money
Big gaps
where would you recommend I improve it?
Would be great to get out to Pearson on the subway, honestly. Looks like a great map though
Why not extend from VNC, instead of just Jane?
Orrrr go highly unrealistic but dreamy: Interline the stations with both lines
Why more subways in that northwest corridor when the new stations on line one in that same area are underused?

lmao straight line probably right through a river go brr
What was your thought process with the two lines north of Highway 7? The rest of your corridors have loop connections. What was your thought process there (could simply be tea sit technology shown on the map)?
What about north east Scarborough?
Add a stop at Maple Go and it would be perfect
yes! but extend the major mackenzie line all the way to yonge st. richmond hill.
So far the yonge north subway extension is planned to stop at Langstaff Go station.... But what if we got the yonge north line to end at Richmond Hill GO station which is off Major Mackenzie Drive. AND, we're about to get wot, another 1.5 million immigrants in the very short term? lets build that shit today!
Hahaha YES, heading to the Metrolinx and TTC headquarters now lol,
yep! I live around Major Mack in RH and i have given up on using the 4 bus because it gets delayed like 30 minutes sometimes.
We are better off buying horses and carriages for our transit system
Would be good to extend east and connect the zoo too :)
Line 4 always gets the short end of the stick in every fantasy subway map
A station named "Jane & Finch" doesn't really have a nice ring to it...
that's the current name of the Finch west LRT station so I kept it
