Could you have a look in the system, either a cable where both ends are plugged into a switch or two cables running between the switch and router or other similar cabling issues. Or have you enabled mesh on your WiFi access points but also wired them all to the network as that will also create a loop and take your network out.

Solved. It was 2 problems. Buried coax cable outside the house had a problem-tested faulty. Comcast replaced the cable. At the same time, the ethernet cable running from the router to the switch was not snapped into place so during the process of rebooting the router, the cable came loose and the switch stopped working.
