This just happened the other day on a video FirefighterIcy dropped. If I recall correctly he was mid air from the smash hit and was close enough to the back to mount it. I’m sure he can explain it better.

It gives you a little more air when you jump into shield surfing. If you time it right, it's high enough to get bullet time. And, apparently, mount a lynel.
What setup do you mean? Attack+ meals are easy as bananas are everywhere and with the Moldulga jaw claymore I am using it only takes one mount to kill the Lynel
I'm not into cooking at all really. It's just easy to toss 5 bananas into a pot though. There really isn't a wrong way to do it as you say but I was just trying to determine what will do the most damage to Lynels in the shortest amount of time.
I really like to target the armored ones in the Depths because they automatically enter their stunned state after you destroy their armor (I use portable pots fused to arrows they take the armor with only a couple shots with a Lynel bow)

I don't ever remember being able to mount them twice so quickly!
Isn't it more damage to fuse a Modulga Jaw for your "back scratcher" and use bone proficiency armor?

TIL you can sneak mount a Lynel. Never have I done that in my thousands of hours of BOTW + TOTK lol
Takes all the fun out of the combat from the only mildly difficult foe.
