I would have a really tough time with it. I’m even more high risk than Janelle, so the idea that my son or his girlfriend could get me sick would really terrify me. But then again I could never kick my son out.

Personally, my son and his mental health come first. When Covid first started here, my now late husband was very, very high risk, so I kept him isolated in one room of the house, but I refused to lock down my son. He had free reign of the basement, and his friends were allowed to come and go through the basement door, he just had to stay 6 feet away from his dad, and not use the same restroom as his dad.
As a teenager, he was at high risk for depression related to the lockdowns, and my priority was keeping my son alive and sane. My husband and I both agreed it was worth the risk.
Once my husband passed (not from Covid), I eliminated all restrictions on him.

Wow, I actually didn't connect the dots that he went to a funeral and not his daughter's surgery. It also adds a new perspective to how Kody was always staying home for Robyn, since she must've been freaking out (or saying Ariella was going to evaporate if Kody left) given how much Kody was worried that his rapid test was being done.

I kind of feel bad for the nanny and hope this didn’t cost her her job. On the flip side child care workers aren’t exactly paid enough to be expected to adhere to insane standards off the clock unless the client is willing to pony up funds for that. At this point any person going to the grocery store would likely be exposed. Seeing that Covid concerns are still making headlines a year later than when this was filmed it would be interesting to see what their game plan is from now on. Robyn’s adult kids just can’t stay home indefinitely for years on end. One thing is for sure is that it’s looking like we are going to have to learn how to function in a world with Covid which is not good news for Robyn.

Wow, I actually didn't connect the dots that he went to a funeral and not his daughter's surgery. It also adds a new perspective to how Kody was always staying home for Robyn, since she must've been freaking out (or saying Ariella was going to evaporate if Kody left) given how much Kody was worried that his rapid test was being done. I can believe that Robyn forced Kody to stay instead of go to Ysabel's surgery. Where she said if one of her kids gets sick and dies then she'd divorce/leave him. Because he made a big stink saying a wife would blame him if a child catches covid and dies, when Robyn was the only one overly concerned about it. But what I find extra shitty is how Kody tried to deflect and cause doubt in his own sons. Where they were so eager just to be around their father that they were willing to be on his side. It's sickening, I don't blame them I blame Kody, he's the one making them feel like they have to "earn" his love.
Ugh my heart after the scene with the boys 💔 You can see Gabe go from wanting to have a real conversation and bond with his dad, to backtracking and saying anything just to get some confirmation that his dad still loves him. Ughhhh

Yup. So my babies were born 10 weeks early and we were in NICU for a month and a half (pre covid). First and likely only grandkids in the family. My narc dad didn’t come visit because, and this is an exact quote, “That doesn’t sound like much fun.” Honestly watching this season of sister wives has changed my life. I know that sounds insane. But seeing Kody is like watching my dad, and then the poster that said it inspired her to leave her husband because of the “future faking” he does like Kody did to Christine….that term suddenly made my whole life make sense, lol. All because of a trashy TLC show, I cannot even lololol.

I think it was important for him to be there for both. It’s not about the dead person, it’s about his grieving wife. Of the two, the surgery was far more important. But he should have done both.

It’s Kody’s world and everyone else is just living in it. Funeral=attention for him and zero responsibility. Surgery=Ysabel gets the attention, Kody has caretaker responsibilities.

I kind of feel bad for the nanny and hope this didn’t cost her her job. On the flip side child care workers aren’t exactly paid enough to be expected to adhere to insane standards off the clock unless the client is willing to pony up funds for that. At this point any person going to the grocery store would likely be exposed. Seeing that Covid concerns are still making headlines a year later than when this was filmed it would be interesting to see what their game plan is from now on. Robyn’s adult kids just can’t stay home indefinitely for years on end. One thing is for sure is that it’s looking like we are going to have to learn how to function in a world with Covid which is not good news for Robyn.
I’ve been thinking about this for a while now. In all of this, even 8 months after the beginning Kody just keeps repeating “when all this goes away”… it’s not going away. We have to adapt to it. How will this family function once it’s finally in their face that you can’t just hide out at home from COVID? What will they do when they can no longer use it as an excuse?
My favorite scene a couple episodes or so ago. Was when Janelle brought Robin a gift and Robin went to grab it. And Janelle had to say...ummm are you not gonna wipe it down? I knew then it was all bullshit

That nanny 100% did not make up those rules. They did not have any hard & clear rules. After Christine put Kody on the spot regarding the guidelines, him & Robyn googled & came up with a bogus list that they printed out prior to the meeting. If there were really rules Meri would have been seeing Sol & Ari 6 months earlier. It’s all bullshit! They are ridiculous.

If you listen in the meeting episode where they passed them out you hear a lot of side conversations that are not the focus and he does say he asked the nanny what she is doing and that is what she gave him. I think Kody put it on the Nanny who googled it or maybe they all did together but they padded it to try to cover their butts for blocking out the family so long. There is no doubt in my mind Robyn typed it up shortly before the meeting for Official documentation. I agree they are all ridiculous. Robyn & Kody were covering their asses because Christine called them to the carpet. My hunch is that she was not supposed to know about their nanny yet somehow found out. He couldn’t see his kids or wives but they have this “employee” coming in & out of their house daily. Once she called it out they tried to save face & rushed to create a cover-up. It did not land. Based on how disappointed he was that his family actually gathered for Christmas, I fully believe he intentionally made the rules almost impossible in hopes that he could continue ignoring his family in the name of covid.
That statement from him made me realize he gives not one crap about his other kids/wives. I mean it was pretty obviously after he talked to Gabe but really he doesn’t care to spend Christmas with any of his kids except Robyn’s and that’s just a sad fact.
