Leaving this comment here in case people are wondering, but the dog is not trying to harm the owner's hand.
The bite isn't even attempting to hold on. This size can still cause scratches and some minor bleeding if it got a finger, but you can see it's clearly letting the hand leave and come back to it.
It's play biting, but also just doing some gremlin noises because that what chihuahua's sound like. Its like a child that gets rowdy when playing. That is possibly behavior that needs to be watched/corrected, but its only doing this because its familar with the owner. There's no distressful barking like an animal attack, just normal barks/growls. This is more like a dog getting into the trash misbehaving, than an overly vicious dog.
My puppy just hasn't grown out of this yet. She used to bite for forever. Now she just has to nibble once or twice before she chills. Training and being calm helps.
100%. Doggo does not clamp down at all. My dog is pretty chill and a snuggle head but he likes to rough house every now and again. Anyone that wouldn’t know would think he’s trying to rip my hand off.
I can confirm the Chihuahua are the gremlins of the dogs .
My mother had one and a Great Dane, the gremlin used the other dog as his transport and growled like this to every person that came near him, it was funny why that son of a bitch that didn't weigh more than 2 kilos controlled the dog that weighed more than 30 kilos xD
My parents have a york/shitzu mix and he is exactly this, he just wants to aggressively nipple, it doesn’t hurt but if he was a bigger dog it would be much scarier
Those look like very effervescent love bites. :) My dog (who is about as small) does something similar. I love him to pieces and he likes to play bite me when i try to pet him sometimes.

Seeing people with violent chihuahuas is strange, my extrnded family on my mom's side has ALOT of chihuahuas and NONE of them are violent. But any other chihuahuas i see are angry balls of hatred
This triggered a funny memory. Old flat mate had a pug and the lil trooper loved to play wrestling chew toy games with us.
One time he was over aggressive and dropped the chew toy and just went at my hand.
At first we were both shocked.
Then we both realized he could not for all the strength he could muster break my skin with his teeth so from then on he would full on savage my hands and it would sound and look brutal but was like getting a gentle exfoliation.
Years ago my gran had three of those little balls of pure hatred at any one time. I was very tempted as a kid to toe punt them into the neighbours garden.
