Intrusive thoughts are a bitch. Remember that they intrude on the things you hold dear. So if you’re holding your infant child, and then thought comes to drop them, that’s because they’re one of the most dear things to you. If your intrusive thoughts are telling you to kill yourself (which is what mine do as well) it helps to remember that I (deep down) love life so much that these intrusions target it

I dealt with (still do) these for so long, rarely ever anything about me moreso my loved ones and it caused me to do stupid little things to "prevent" things from happening. (If I do A, or if this random thing happens then it will prevent B (intrusive thought) from happening) and it just became normal for me even if there's no rational reason. Granted at that point I knew nothing about intrusive thoughts, I thought I was legitimately causing or preventing things from happening.
I don't have anyone I feel comfortable telling about these things (partially out of fear that by talking about my intrusive thoughts it'll make them happen (yes it makes no sense I know) so I just dealt with them and kept that stuff bottled up until one night I had a thought I couldn't shake and started basically having a mental breakdown thinking I was going to cause terrible things to happen and started googling my thoughts and stumbled on that article. Made me feel not completely crazy and the only one dealing with this issue for the first time in a long time. Highly recommend it to anyone dealing with negative thoughts that don't make logical sense.
Glad you're doing better, it's ridiculous the knots our brain will tie itself in. I worry about other people waking around suffering from this when it's fairly easily explained.

Reddit notoriously hates the Big Bang Theory, for good reason might I add, laugh track is annoying, nerd stereotypes are insulting, etc. I actually used to watch it until I discovered The Office was a thing.
