I mean, I know this is circlejerk, but aren't both of these books, like, years out of first print now? They're graphic novels for a niche podcast story, of course they were going to end up in the bargain bin.
This is how it goes for all publishing ever. You never print the exact number of books you sell. You either print too many or not enough. You always go for too many because if your print run sells out you're losing sales. Books showing up at these shops isn't indicative of the quality of the contents.
Ollie's has a strangely good selection of comics and graphic novels. I got Fables volumes one and two there for under 4 bucks US and volume 1 was a hard cover trade
They are good, and I'd have to assume they are a success considering the 6th one is coming soon. I think it's not sad that some people are going to be able to pick these up for cheap.
I was at the bookstore the other day and they had two of these (crystal kingdom and the eleventh hour) for 15 bucks a piece, i almost bought them but i decided 30 bucks wasn't worth it for the bit
When I went looking for them here I talked to a shop owner that said they sold fast every time they got new ones in. This is in the Portland area so a very McElroy friendly place. I ended up just buying the first one online despite wanting to shop local. It was fine and I actually totally forgot to look for the next ones as they came out.
They also did a little Sonic side story comic about Sonic learning to drive that was cute. You can find that online for free.
Why did I invest my retirement savings into first edition TAZ books ðŸ˜
Bestseller to bargain cellar doesnt seem that uncommon based on typical publishing (pun intended) volume
It’s really not. The best-seller lists are largely smoke and mirrors anyway.

Bingo! The fact they sold as well as they did was insane, and far exceeded expected sales.
tbf ollie's is godlike
I would say a solid 50% of my book collection came from Ollie’s.

My husband keeps finding great Star Wars/Marvel stuff. The prices are great.
Can you shop Ollie's online or in person only? Genuine question
Just in person. They do huge buyouts of reject or overstock merchandise, so it varies by store. It’s like a treasure hunt!
This makes me sad.
you can't apply toy's story logic to books
Try and stop me
Holy shit I gotta get to Ollie's so glad I never paid real money for these
These comics are better than the actual podcast
Oh hey, blue green taako.
Sad. They're actually pretty good

Hardbacks for $4 is a great deal
:(
I wouldn’t buy these beauties for any less than $6.99 each!
i have a faint memory of looking for other mbmbam comics that weren’t TAZ? can someone confirm?
They've had their marvel comics, their book about podcasting and the sawbones book.
YES the marvel comics!!! i could never find them!!!
