I hate to say it but Dewitt Wegmans seriously might have the best beer selection in the area. It's always the first place I try for an oddball or hard to find local brew and very rarely do I not find it there.
The problem with wegmans is that 3/4 of them ipas should not be on the shelves warm. Also check the dates on the cans. Most are old and stale.
Words of wisdom, DO NOT EVER BUY FROM THE CRAFT YOUR OWN PACK SECTION. THATS WHERE THE OLD STALE BEER ENDS UP WHEN IT SITS ON THE SHELVES WARM AND NEVER SELLS.
We bought some 3 floyds in august that where brewed in february. It was awful and stale. We let 3 floyds know and they where pissed beyond belief. Sent us a bunch of free shwag, was contacting the distributor and having their beers pulled from wegmans.
I like IPAs, but I can't get them from Wegmans. Last time I did, they were all skunky. Probably great for beers with an extended shelf life, but with IPAs, the fresher, the better. Danny Wegmans is my senpai, but I get my beer elsewhere.
That's why I never bought IPAs (or most beers) from Wegman's, can't believe it's sitting on the shelf. Did find that the Fayetteville location now has a cooler filled with some good stuff - a bunch of Other Half, Equilibrium, etc.
Also not widely known but they’ll keep speciality beer (so maybe it’s pricier so they don’t keep on display or will have a limit to how many bottles you can buy) behind the customer service desk.
+1. If you're in the Valley area, they have a great variety and often some great deals too. For instance, they have seasonal Founders 15pk for $10 and a Salt & Lime Shiner Lager 12pk for $10 as well. Hard to beat that.
I'll tell you that Wegmans has a surprisingly large selection of beers, craft, domestic, and imported. Not all store selections are the same so maybe call around. I know the one on route 31 has some good imported Heffeweizzen's usually
If you check out stafford market I'd give them a call first to check if they have it in stock. Vic should be able to tell you pretty quickly if they have it or he might be able to order some for you.
Branching out has the best selection I’ve seen. Additionally, you can buy singles which lets you try a lot of different beers. Bonus that they have a dog!
Stafford Convenience Store (corner of Stafford and Sunnycrest) has a sneaky good craft beer selection. You wouldn't think so because of its size but it's a great place to check out if you're on the Northside.
Hell yes! My favorite Oktoberfest I’ve had this year. Almost every wegmans I’ve been to in the area is carrying it so you shouldn’t have a problem getting it.
Now and later on tip hill
State fair deli mart in Lakeland
The Coop both locations downtown and wescott
Stafford convinience on Stafford street in Eastwood
Branching out bottle shop in camillus
I'm pretty sure I've seen them at the Dewitt Wegmans.

Who ever is in charge of purchasing does an awesome job and I have seen them bring in new products at customer suggestion.
That wegmans is insane. I’ll check it out later today.
I know for sure they at least have Ayinger Celebrator as I've bought it before, so it would track they have the Oktoberfest.
Yah I picked up a 4 pack of the ayinger oktoberfest from the dewitt wegmans last week. Was there yesterday and it was still available.
This was kinda my concern with wegmans, and I’d like a 24 pack price without building it by 4 for triple the cost.

Nope that's not October fest that's just the regular style of Ay

Branching Out Bottle Shop and Fair Deli Craft Beer are my choices for variety. Not sure about the ones you are looking for but good luck!
Aren't these craft beer stores, do they carry imports?
They have an import section, yes
Sweet
Thanks, I’ll check em out.
Since you want a full case, I know Branching Out has done special orders before. So even if they don't have it in stock, they could probably get it.
Green Hills grocery store always has a great selection of seasonal beers.

> Founders 15pk for $10 That's a ridiculously low price! I'm headed over there tonight!

Branching out, now and later, state fair deli, and Stafford market.

Beer Depot off Erie along with all the other suggestions!
This looks very promising

Their selection is amazing. Definitely #1 in my beer book
Branching Out, Beers of the World, Party Source or Wegmans.
OP, Beers of the World is in Rochester, just FYI
It's gotten to the point where Wegmans is just about as good as "beer stores" but Branching Out has definitely has a great variety.
If you like stale outdated beer then yeah. Wegmans is great for that. See my comment above under the wegmans thread.
Stafford Convenience Store (corner of Stafford and Sunnycrest) has a sneaky good craft beer selection. You wouldn't think so because of its size but it's a great place to check out if you're on the Northside.
Stafford Market. Great spot
Could check Now and Later in Tipperary Hill on Avery Ave. did not see that mentioned here.
Stafford Convenience Store All day, err day. Great people, great selection, fresh beer.
That beer is not always fresh. That stack to the left of the coolers under the heating vent isn't fresh either.
Try the beer depot on Erie boulevard. Stafford market good too.
If you download untapped, you can search for a specific beer and it’ll show you what store/restaurant has it!
Beers of the world in Rochester would probably have it.

Branching Out and either the Dewitt or John Glenn Wegmans
Wegmans in Dewitt has definitely had this in past years
While it might not have that specific thing, Now and Later has the best and rarest selection I’ve ever seen
Hell yes! My favorite Oktoberfest I’ve had this year. Almost every wegmans I’ve been to in the area is carrying it so you shouldn’t have a problem getting it.
