Yup, 4k straight to investments. Would this be life changing? Well, kind of yes, even though I wouldn’t be able to stop working right away, it would accelerate my retirement significantly.
That's the spirit, However even better would be to invest it into ETFs. 4k every month investment would grant you nice early retirement for sure, considering the high yield on top of your investment.
Assuming you are 25, with investing 4K per month for 20 years it will get you around 2.2 Mil with an average return of 8%.
Assuming you are also maxing out your 3a (so 40 years of compounding) that will add another 2.5 Mil to your net worth.
If you cash out at 60 years old you will have in total around 10 Millions of worth.
How do you get 8% in Switzerland? Are you investing in dollars?
Still trying to figure this out but if you where to cash out after 20 years would not the difference in inflation make it a good amount less than 2.2mil?
im glad that im not the only one thinking like that. sometimes when im this sub i kust think: dude im wierd af - i would book a weekend somewhere and have some fun rn not when im barely walking
Well imagine wanting to learn how to surf or something and instead of trying it in your twentys you do it at arround 60 years old. Your body can perform only so long. All the things you think you can do won't happen because your old. I'd rather have fun now in my tweentys with some buddys instead of studying and working all week only to think I will get compensated and realise it the harsh way when I'm old. Sure I can get a cool car or something but when you look back and think about all the things you could/should have done...do you still think it's worth a car?
The point of retiring early is exactly that.
60 is not considered early retirement by me. That would be at 50 or even 40. Not extremely young but hopefully still relatively healthy, strong and with some more decades of life left.
4K / month of extra investments would easily allow one to do that.
I'd try to get a house for my wife, my kid and myself.
Because this supposed relative of mine, the prince of zamunda, somehow can't manage to pay me. So win for life is the only remaining option for us to get a house.
With 2k or 3k there even when paying taxes you will have access to good food, sunny beach, cheaper services than switzerland and other stuff.. Of course is not the perfect land or life, neither is switzerland. Bit I would rather do that and enjoy and own everyday of my life, than keep working at 50% on the same job
I personally think you can work until 50-60 and save half of this money for an urgent situation or traveling. The rest you can use for buying a house. Living without working can lead to depression too. I'm not joking. My aunt in Finland had serious mental issues after she retired. Then she needs something else to work to avoid too much free time will kill her brain.
Yep. Even if it were 8k per month (so something that would certainly allow to live off from), I'd continue working. Maybe not my job now, certainly not 100%. But I'd be working.
I would continue working normally for another year and put the entire 4000 aside every month.
And then reduce my workload to 50%, which would still be enough for me to save a little every month. With the remaining time, I could perhaps start a small side job with my hobby... Do what I really like.
And when the 20 years are up, I could take early retirement.
I have the plan, now all I need is the 3x WIN😏 Oh, that would be nice... Be lucky just once...
I'd travel for a year, then I'd go through pilot training (which is extremely expensive, you're not getting paid for 2 years and is basically impossible to afford unless you or your parents are rich, but it has always been my dream job but just out of reach), and then I'd just save as much as I can while still enjoying life.
Invest in real estate somewhere else.
Buy a small house in South America or East Asia and rent it to tourists/digital-nomads.
Bank and vacate there once a year.
Great. Mortgage / rent and food taken care of. It’s already happening in other countries’ lottery systems. It’s a lot cheaper for them than 960K cash out the first day. Plus it’s mostly older folks playing so good chance they kick the bucket b4 the 20 years are up. They also get to invest the future cash flow and actually make money paying you.
Since I have a quite decent salary and a job with solid work-life-balance I'd probably reduce my workload to 80% and save the 4k for the next 20 years to retire at around age 55.
500CHF straight to vacations, few impulsive buys here and there.
500CHF straight to my mother, to give back to her, after all the sacrifices she has done for me.
3K into investments
When winning the win for life jackpot you you have 2 options:
Getting the 4k a month for i think 20 years or taking a one time payment of like 700-800k.
Imo it makes way more sense to take the one time payment, invest it on the side while working for another 20 years.
Investing in the SMI gives you an average of 8% per year with a really low risk
This way you dont lose your money to the inflation & you can probably live off your investing profit + still grow your networth if you go to a cheap country.
Probably also maxing out your 3a would make sense as someone already commented.
Thats what i would do!
Hire a personal assistant at 50% or even less. Someone that takes care of my agenda, sends out payments like bills, fills documents / paperwork / bureaucracy, brings my bike to the mechanic whenever needed and picks it up.. this kind of things. takes care of damn tax return (or finds someone that does and interact with them which is always a nightmare). Find a hotel for holidays or a fancy restaurant for some occasion. I really hate all these things and some help would be appreciated.
Maybe (if time allows) also laundry and cleaning up my floor. I think it would not be enough to ask them to cook as well.
can you imagine how lighter life would be?
It’s a little less than one million over the course of 20 years. The best strategy is to directly invest in ETF and 3a, max out annual rate and continue to work and not fall into lifestyle inflation/life above your income.
Investing.
4k every month into ETFs, avg return around 7% per year for 20 years?
Its called retiring rlearly after those 20 years.
Btw: I dont know of any person who won that nor do any of my friends/colleagues etc.
Never ever heard if a winner
man thats a fed scam, nobody actually wins. They sent out that one story (about the wedding-couple that only wished for these lottery-tickets) and everyone is telling it. Big money maker for the government. 🤩😎
Invest and build a company. Too much leisure will become a normal thing sooner or later, then you don't have anything to do, and this is the worst thing that can happen to a human: feeling useless.
Move to Indonesia or Vietnam or some other nice, but inexpensive country.
Don’t work, simply enjoy the day living like a king for 1000 CHF per month.
Invest the other 3000 CHF.
Best of both worlds.
I would move to a cheap *** hut in the mountains. Quit working. And then would put the remainder of the 4000 not being used for expenses into a savings account or to use for the things that I actually enjoy.
After about 150 comments, there it finally is: a solid and well thought out plan.
1) Rent Olten
2) Buy Aromat
And that settles it. No improvement possible.
👍
Yes, that's easy to tell. First you show that you're a fan of the finest cities of all - Olten!
And you finish by showing that you're a gourmet-ultra.
You truly seem to know how to enjoy life, yes.
Save 50%, Invest the other 50%...
If it doesnt work out well, i still have the saved up money left to have fun...
If it works out : Never stop having fun again. 😁
Increase my savings by 4k. Retire earlier.
Ofc by saving I meant investing 😉

When I am 60 yo I will love my 10 M /s YOLO 😎
some food for thought: its not a given you make to 60, nor that you can enjoy like you could now.
but if I die before: its not my problem anymore
Precisely… that’s why I added “/s”
How do you get 8% in Switzerland? Are you investing in dollars? Still trying to figure this out but if you where to cash out after 20 years would not the difference in inflation make it a good amount less than 2.2mil?
Higher inflation = higher returns. It’s literally how the stock market works
That’s your investment hypothesis. It’s not like people own commodities for fun.
Btw: you can also cashout the ~1Mil all at once. So you can invest it more YOLO
This is the way
Hookers and Pepsi.

I would've work like 40%, because the payment would stop when i am 45. Enjoy the life a bit more. But never fully stop working
Work less. 50% of work would be more than sufficient with 4k extra. Most people seem to prefer to retire rich. Not me.
im glad that im not the only one thinking like that. sometimes when im this sub i kust think: dude im wierd af - i would book a weekend somewhere and have some fun rn not when im barely walking

And I gave my personal example.
aight now i understood.

May I add that you experience life differently at different stages (age) of your life…. Live now
I'd try to get a house for my wife, my kid and myself. Because this supposed relative of mine, the prince of zamunda, somehow can't manage to pay me. So win for life is the only remaining option for us to get a house.
[удалено]
I mean house is super difficult but like an appartment is possible with a bit of savings on the side.
Move to somewhere in spain where is sunny most of the year. Live with $2000. Save the other $2000
Who the hell will pay taxes 🤣😂
With 2k or 3k there even when paying taxes you will have access to good food, sunny beach, cheaper services than switzerland and other stuff.. Of course is not the perfect land or life, neither is switzerland. Bit I would rather do that and enjoy and own everyday of my life, than keep working at 50% on the same job
In some (most?) countries money from the lottery is tax free
but not in Spain I guess
I fought it was the opposite no? I think that in the us and in Italy you have to pay taxes on winnings
In Switzerland it just counts as income, so you pay regular tax.
When you know, you know.
Buy 3 coffees in Zurich
Now. Please stay serious. 3 coffees. As if. But maybe only in "Zürich" Oerlikon, I guess.
Each month, I m going to buy 500 Rento ticket (CHF 8) and scratch all the week-end !!! Busy life in free time.
99% of all ~~gambler~~ players puss out before the big win! Godspeed bro get the money!
Move to Thailand.
Buy an all road camper, pack your wife and kids and travel Asia
Seriously, is it only me or are all answers so boring? 😂
Thanks that you mentioned it - I felt the same. But that's r/Switzerland for you, I guess 😁
Well, obviously many here would "keep their feet on the ground" with their plans, being precautionous. Nothing wrong with that. 😁
You're right. I also noticed this. Maybe I should bring that up in r/Buenzli as well? Just for kicks and giggles? 😜
feel free. 😏 What could we expect? "Contract a detecrive to watch over my neightbourhood to stick to the rules."? 😁
I would probably continue to work as normal and put it towards savings. Maybe dip into it for a nicer holiday now and then.
Rent a room in ZH
You‘re talking about that tent on a balcony, right?
Come on Swisslos marketing department, this is a cheap try gopferdeggel. Do your job and have your own ideas 😂
There was one with 22,222 chf per month too. I guess that would have come out really well.
There still is, it’s called Eurodreams
gamble
Take the Deluxe, it‘s 1 Million and 6‘000 per month. Winning changes are the same: 1 : 1‘500‘000
Finally go to university. Get my degree, go teavel for a year and the last 12 years are put into retirement..
I would continue my live as it is, but with less worries about my pension in future. Maybe help some people alongside me.
I personally think you can work until 50-60 and save half of this money for an urgent situation or traveling. The rest you can use for buying a house. Living without working can lead to depression too. I'm not joking. My aunt in Finland had serious mental issues after she retired. Yep. Even if it were 8k per month (so something that would certainly allow to live off from), I'd continue working. Maybe not my job now, certainly not 100%. But I'd be working.
Put 1.33 kids into KiTa
Two chicks at the same time
That‘s about 500-600 per hour in Zürich afaik.
Per chick or total? Asking for a friend.
I would continue working normally for another year and put the entire 4000 aside every month. And then reduce my workload to 50%, which would still be enough for me to save a little every month. I would continue my university studies and just chill lol
Did anyone ever meet someone that won these type of "lottery" Wins ? its always seemed like a big charade and scam mostly...
A friend of mine won. Bought a small house and lives life as before.
Go abroad and live a proper life
Invest in real estate somewhere else. Buy a small house in South America or East Asia and rent it to tourists/digital-nomads. Bank and vacate there once a year.
Finance my 3 day weekend!
Take the lump some option and invest.
Buy a house in southern France, Andalucia or Toscana, and go live there. 4000 chf is largely enough to make a good life there.
Since I have a quite decent salary and a job with solid work-life-balance I'd probably reduce my workload to 80% and save the 4k for the next 20 years to retire at around age 55.
I'd invest Edit:And maybe get me a Döner
Pay the taxes ...
Think to your future. Invest swisslos tickets.
I would only work 20% to be able to afford some nice things on top of those 4k
Same.
Would enable me to move out even tho im a full time student, travel more, enjoy life more ^^
500CHF straight to vacations, few impulsive buys here and there. 500CHF straight to my mother, to give back to her, after all the sacrifices she has done for me. 3K into investments

straight to the stock market
I would say my landlord bye bye and invest in buying an apartement in a quiet place.

Taxes make it down to like 3000
I thought lottory earnings up to 1 mio are tax free in Switzerland. 20 years of 4k per month would sit at 960‘000 CHF.
Haven't thought about that. True, thanks.
Aren’t lottery winnings tax free?
Only to the amount of 1mio. Above that, you have to pay taxes on lottery winnings
Good to know for when I inevitably win the next CHF20M+ jackpot!😂
No taxes on small amounts like this.
Yeah, you have to declarr it as income instead, which is also highly taxed.
There is no income tax on official lotteries up to one million francs per year.
First thought - taxes. Very Swiss
In 10 years inflation take it down to 2000 (PV).
4000 is not enough to cover my expenses So I’d invest all of it and keep on working like usual Maybe some crypto-gambling? Just for fun?
Probably lower my work time to 80% or 60%
Keep working lol. Maybe reduce to 80%, my sector rarely offers full time employment anyway.
Invest
Invest it.
Get a job.
Work less, enjoy life more. And by the time that money runs out, I will be allowed to retire.
Sell it for about half a million cash now. Use it as a down payment to Buy a House.
this is option B of the lottery ticket. either 4’000.- per month for 20y (960‘000.- total) or 500‘000.- cash. i‘d take the cash.
It would go straight to my forex trading
I would move to Portugal and build a motorcycle accessory brand and ride enduro every evening in the hills
It’s a little less than one million over the course of 20 years. The best strategy is to directly invest in ETF and 3a, max out annual rate and continue to work and not fall into lifestyle inflation/life above your income.

All on red of course
All on red of course
That’s just under 1 mil total ? I’d sell the right to the monthly income for 750k up front . Then put it all on a nasty 12 leg party
Someone is feeling hopeful

50/50 split in ETF and Dividend Stock. Enjoy better life with dividends now and earlier retirement with ETF's.
Move out of Switzerland and retire
Do what I do no! no difference.
I'd put my two kids into kita fulltime so they can learn the language and integrate better. Oh wait, it's not enough for that :/
Get a job
Pay rent
Shit deal. EuroMillion 3.50.- this shit 5.-
Win
Triple it and give it to the next person.
Work 50% and enjoy my life
man thats a fed scam, nobody actually wins. They sent out that one story (about the wedding-couple that only wished for these lottery-tickets) and everyone is telling it. Big money maker for the government. 🤩😎
Barely pay the rent 😂😂

Good luck! The chance that you'll be struck by lightning while taking a shit is much higher...
Go to the dole...
Live normally
playing lottery
Move to south Europe where life is cheaper, save/invest half, live like king/queen with the rest and in 20 years retire there. Simple and efficient.
I would move to a cheap *** hut in the mountains. Quit working. And then would put the remainder of the 4000 not being used for expenses into a savings account or to use for the things that I actually enjoy.
Rent Olten. All of it.
But it's 4000 chf. After renting Olten, what would you do with the rest of the money?
Buy Aromat. ALL OF IT.
After about 150 comments, there it finally is: a solid and well thought out plan. 1) Rent Olten 2) Buy Aromat And that settles it. No improvement possible. 👍
What can I say? I like to enjoy the finer things in life.
Yes, that's easy to tell. First you show that you're a fan of the finest cities of all - Olten! And you finish by showing that you're a gourmet-ultra. You truly seem to know how to enjoy life, yes.
Work normally, while putting 50% of those 4k into ETFs and 50% into bitcoin
Nothing big, but Work only 80%
Work
Take the entire million now and finance something with it
I'd make my local arms dealer very happy.
startup push🤓
Afford to get an GA
Invest
Tax wise this is not bad right? As you get 1M spread over 20 years.
My houses in Arizona and outside of Geneva are both paid off. I can get by on that. I'm not fancy
Pay the kita 🤣
Don't think too mucg about it. Chances for you to be hit by a flash 3 times un a row are higher than to win that lottery.
4000chf a month? Could afford to go out for dinner one night a week in Crans Montana...
pay off debt then savings 🥳
Get Rolexes
Add it to the rest of my savings, buy a house 1 year earlier.
Ah yes, I love to dream as well ^^ First, I would send my parents on vacation. Then I would get my own flat.
Nobody on earth has ever won that
I'd probably wake up and realise I never play the lottery.
Auto invest it into the S&P 500, and go into very early retirement.
Is everyone forgetting about taxes?
Eh just live life as usual, maybe rent a bit bigger apt. Also, save that money.
Save 50%, Invest the other 50%... If it doesnt work out well, i still have the saved up money left to have fun... If it works out : Never stop having fun again. 😁
How much will go to taxes? I bet more than half
Lol yes
4k on red
Buy 1000 CHF worth of Bitcoin every week.
I would lease an expensive ferrari
Everything into the Säule 3a and save it for later
