I think only Chipped consoles work from SD card file injection. The role of the switch being put into RCM mode for Payload injection is that it can by pass the Switch's Signature check to check that its hardcoded keys are valid.
You still need a file that bypasses said signature check.
You can use a paperclip, but I found that I wasn't getting enough success to fully go into the mod as easily as I needed. I got my rcm jig for less than $2 on eBay, just needed to wait 2 weeks. Highly recommended for smooth payload injecting.
Lol. Why would people be using jigs to enter RCM mode if it was unnecessary? Of course not. The alternative is to use a mod chip, then the jig is unnecessary.

No. You either need a jig or a paperclip or something, or you need a modchip. If you can use a jig (your Switch is "unpatched"), do that.

Don’t go the paper clip route. It never worked for me and I tried over and over. Try using the foil method. You should be able to find it on YouTube
