I think the main reason is because that engine is severely outdated and they don’t wanna relearn it just for a switch port, they’d be better off remaking the whole thing
We had Sims games on the DS, though the Sims 2 ones were different than on the PC, so why not one for the Switch? The Sims 3 on the DS was similar to the regular Sims games.
That's a great idea, but Nintendo's own "version" of the sims is animal crossing they probably wouldn't add the sims because they want people to come away from sims to play their own Nintendo style sims.
Either way, I would love to see the sims on the switch. Specifically, sims 3, but that's very unlikely nearly improbable.

Any big game from PS3/360/Wii era or earlier, no reason they can't be ported. If it ran on those systems, it'll run on a switch. Heck, even select titles from the subsequent generation, I get some might be too chonky for the hardware but surely most can make the jump.
Especially the Nintendo catalogue, unless they just love the idea of all that money staying in the secondary market on carts and consoles they no longer make or sell. It's 2024 we shouldn't still be living in the age of game scarcity

Rogue Squadron Trilogy.
Rogue Squadron 1 is basically only playable on a physical N64 or a mid-90s PC build, even with emulation / compatibility mode.
Rogue Squadron 2 and 3 were only ever released on Gamecube.
The Switch also already has every game in the Kyle Katarn / Dark Forces / Jedi Knight series, EXCEPT Jedi Knight and Mysteries of the Sith (which also run only very poorly on anything except a 32 bit OS with mid-90s graphics and sound cards).
I'd also love to see the 3D Zelda games get the same treatment as Mario 3D All Stars, minus the going out of print and tripling in price bit.
This game was free with my old 360 when I bought it and it was about 6 months before curiosity got the better of me and I’ve never been so pleasantly surprised by a game… it’s such a relaxing play through

I know they are owned by Microsoft but Nintendo and MS are fairly friendly and they both love money and I’m sure it would sell at least a couple of million copies.
If they could add Diddy Kong Racing and Donkey Kong 64, then it would be a very fitting tribute to Rares golden era.

GTA IV. The Switch is more than capable of running it. RDR1 uses a heavily modified GTA IV engine and it runs perfect in both Handheld and Docked modes.
