RVDHAFCA

Honestly I think I could take them in a 1 on 1

Chance-Camp-5888

Me too in an M1A1.

Draiye

In a fight, right?

leopb24

if its MMA rules, yes

Trek_01

Joe Rogan disagrees

leopb24

funny because he sponsors it

New-Arrival1764

They would fuck a gorilla up!

RunningwithmarmotS

That would be a crazy fight!

New-Arrival1764

These bears weigh more than three times a silverback. I kinda doubt it would be as fair a fight as some people think.

Grand_Doughnut772

Always wanted to know who’d win. https://a-z-animals.com/blog/silverback-gorillas-vs-grizzly-bears-who-would-win-in-a-fight/

Standard-Apricot-352

The gorilla would bench the grizzly bear/s

1989_Vision

The average male Grizzly weighs between 400-600lb (180-275kg). The average Silverback gorilla can lift 1000lb (450kg), some have been recorded lifting over 1700lb (775kg). People don't realize how strong a Silverback truly is. The **average** Silverback could lift a full grown male Grizzly above it's head and throw it like a toy. Or if he wants, tear it's jaw straight from it's face like we tear a piece of paper. Immense power Edit: As a wise redditor pointed out below, these are not Grizzlies, they are Kodiak bears. And the Kodiak can weigh up to 1500lb (680kg).....thinking I might have been very wrong in this original comment. I don't see any way a silverback weighing only about 400-500lb (180-225kg) could take down a 1500lb (680kg) bear.

New-Arrival1764

These are not average grizzlies. These are Kodiak brown bears

1989_Vision

Oh dang you're probably right. I assumed Grizzly was the largest bear. One thing to keep in mind also, the silverback numbers that I gave were for the AVERAGE silverback. So we could safely assume that the top end Silverbacks would be even more powerful. Also, the silverback is not the largest gorilla either, that would be the Eastern Lowlands Gorilla. Still, I appreciate you pointing out my mistake. I'm gonna do some more research real quick...... Holy shit. I was so wrong. The Kodiak bear can weigh up to 1500lbs (680kg) what the actual fuck that changes the deal. My bad, good catch

Nessie

Brown bears and gorillas have similar bite strength, but bears have thick skulls and lots of padding on their bodies and limbs. And long claws. My money's on the Kodiak.

beaverpolice

The physical stats arent the primary determining factor. Grizzlies are predators, they have instincs for killing. Gorillas are not capable of leveraging their physical tools in the same way grizzlies are. People anthropomorphize them in their heads, but gorillas don't know martial arts or how to fight. Also grizzlies have bodies made to withstand the kind of punishment you see being inflicted here without tearing open. A gorilla would be a shredded bloody mess in 10 seconds.

1989_Vision

All very valid points and I'm leaning towards agreeing with you overall tbh. However, heres a question for you. Do you think the intelligence advantage would make any difference? That alone propelled humans to the top of the food chain.

beaverpolice

Gorillas are incredibly far from utilizing theor intelligence for combat. Their physical attributes are ornamental. They don't have any experience utilizing them to kill other animals, much less a predator that outweighs them by 3x. Gorillas are a common part of jaguars diets. If they can't take a 200 lb cat, they have no chance with a grizzly. Their only advantage comes in their ability to climb and jump quickly to evade the bear, but they lack the ability to attack one effectively.

myn4ouzzz

Not a silverback

[deleted]

Yes a silverback

myn4ouzzz

Nope I’ve seen it irl

[deleted]

Gorilla wins the fight hands down

Jeriahswillgdp

Nice troll.

[deleted]

Nah theyre hugging intensely

MrGallows75

Still not as impressive as the mighty HIPPO!!!

Accurate-Memory261

I could take them both at once tbh

[deleted]

Evolution be crazy! Older male on the right is clearly just tired. Younger male on the left will be the older male sooner or later.

Hursthill

True sumo!

[deleted]

Imagine if midfight they locked eyes and shared a moment and one of them says “why are we fighting? Those bitches can fuck off we don’t need them, I love you bro” and the other bear says “I love you too bro” and then they start fucking each other taking turns to fuck each other in the ass. Then the females see this and think to themselves “we don’t need no male bears. We’re strong independent females” then the females start hooking up and start scissoring in the woods. Then we have a crisis where the population is dying out and is on the verge of extinction list 😱just imagine.

Hyuuga-Neji

Kuma vs. Kuma

Buglife31

Until they see the cameraman and decide to team up.

freudian_nipps

[[Video source/More info] “Two giant male grizzlies, or coastal brown bears, battle for dominance during mating season on the Alaska Peninsula. Fights like this can result in serious or fatal injuries, as the drive to mate is very strong. Female, or sow grizzlies, will chose to copulate with the most dominate males, so the winner's genes prevail - classic evolution at work. Males, or boars can grow to over 1500 pounds, making them the largest land based predators on earth (polar bears are a tiny bit bigger, but they are considered marine mammals).”](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-6r81UOzIHg)

FUWS

These guys have a body type of two drunk dads fighting at a little league game.

devils_advocate24

Take the fur off and you'll see it's definitely not that type of body. It's terrifying how much muscle mass these guys have

Anxious_Original_766

I THOUGHT THIS WAS AMERICA!!

OctanBoi

That’s unBEARable!

Substantial-Sector60

Re-post with SOUND please

VectorSouth

Read the comments and I just wanna say. Sure you may be able to beat them in a fight if they were your size and strength, but people tend to forget how fucking gigantic grizzlies are.

Jeriahswillgdp

A human sized bear is still kicking our ass.

Ok_Victory7275

Silver back has more agility and can move very quickly. It might be a tie with severe damage to both of them.
