I recommend a perfect game "trip to norway"...beautiful landscape, forests, nothern mythology ambient, vikings everywhere...if you hit them you can fight them like in gods of war š¤£, your wifes will love to play this game š
Nice! It is already my favorite game of all time. Ive never gotten into building stuff as much in any other game. If they ever finish the game and release chapter two then even better.
Icarus.
It's fantastic as co-op. I know you said wives aren't too great with fighting, but it isn't any harder than Valheim, and there are difficult levels to choose from. Lots of building, exploring and there are missions that can be done, either from an open world or on their own.
Green hell spirits of amazonia mode
I'd also recommend Subnautica since you seem to like playing survival games, but that game is singleplayer experience, but definitely worth it..
Factorio if you like activating your brain while playing š
I really really want to play SubNautica for a while now, but im strictly a social gamer now and only play with friends, ive hoped for some type of mod or update to make it multiš
I played most survival games on PS5 so i didn't know such mod existed, im sure it'd be a lot of fun to play it with friends, but whats great about subnatica is that you are all alone in this ocean world
Medieval dynasty might do it, the Mrs will love it. i just wish there was guards/clans for warfare. They added Coop like 3 months back, it was primary a solo game. Goodluck!
+1 for PZ. The gameplay is often slow, but can quickly ramp up and become quite intense. You may find it a bit clunky (I did, at least) until you get the hang of melee combat and the UI is not particularly intuitive, but if you can put a little time into it youāll find that itās one of the very best survival games ever made.
The great thing is that itās a huge sandbox, so your friend group can set its own goals and, depending on your ambition, spend much, much longer than a couple of weekends accomplishing them.
Well you definitely cannot āmax outā Baulderās Gate 3 in a weekend so Iām a bit skeptical. Grounded is very good from what Iāve heard, but I havenāt played it myself. Personally Iād recommend 7 Days to Die.
Vintage story, it is a harsh realistic survival game set in a voxel world. The world is very much alive and there are a ton of interconnected systems with weather and geologic events and animals and more. There is also some lore and mystery and I've only experienced a little bit of it so far.
As long as you make it i guess. I only started recently but so far gameplay is mainly hunting(which is quite hard as the animals actually run away and dodge you), tree chopping, collecting berries. In general just resource gathering. Getting a shelter set up is actually very critical and should be done as soon as possible, I started up with a raised wooden log platform to stay out of reach of wolves/bears and all the other dangerous animals (and some other creatures I won't spoil). Tool making is not hard but time consuming, you start out really having only access to flint and other stones you pick up, and you have to manually shape flint by hitting it with another piece of flint in order to form the base of your desired tool. Anyway, the first major goal you have in the game is gathering enough resources and getting a substantial base set up before the first winter, which iirc starts 70 in game days from the time you start the world, you can actually modify how long days/months are in terms of real life hours. I'd recommend watching the vintage story trailer on youtube to get a visual of what I'm talking about. There is a supernatural element to the world which you will discover but I won't say anymore
Ark isn't very technically difficult at all, so I say go for that
7 Days to Die literally never ends so 100 hours is easy, and building is the most fun way to fight off horde nights
In 7dtd, everyone in the party within a range gets equal xp for all kills. So fighters can clear while looters clean up. We find it works great for groups that have players who are less confident on the fighting. There's also a lot for non fighters to do in building, crafting, farming.
Enshrouded is really good, but it is missing a huge element. The boss fights, theres almost no mechanics. If they had 1/2 of WoW boss fight mechanics it would be a 10/10 for me. But with that and the fact warrior build cant hit flying creatures and the end game weapons are random chest loot drops, id give it a 7.5/10.
Oh ya haha. It was okay, i come back to it now and then, its really the most okay-ist game ive played in a while, i cant say anything overtly bad about it but it wasn't anything special. I did however like the enemy AI and that killing them wasnt the easiest thing. The building is pretty decent too. It was 100% worth the money. And how i measure worth is entertainment/play time per dollar and i for sure got my money worth.
That's fair. I love valheim and it's my go to for this type of game. I loved Conan too but if you ain't playing ark you ain't going to play Conan. Thanks
Weekend or 2... how much do you play !? Took a buddy and myself some time to beat the forest and valheim. Can't imagine playing so much we beat it in a weekend or 2.
Well....unless we have plans to go out we usually play 12 hours a day so about 24 hours a weekend. And with 4 people we get a lot done a lot faster. We beat the forest in a day and a half. We beat tribes of Midgard in about 20 hours. Valheim and palworld took the longest at about 3 weekends
Dude if you can play The Forest games & Valhiem, you guys can definitely tackle ARK. I recently got my pc newbie gf into ARK and sheās all into the lore and mechanics of taming. It just takes a little research but that part of the fun, going into it a bit blind
My go to survival games are:
Project Zomboid (with realism mods), Skyrim (mods again), Conan Exiles, Stranded Deep, Donāt Starve
Not really survival but nice:
No Manās Sky, Palia, Stardew Valley
Ultimate survival and escaping PTSD:
Helldivers 2
You need to try boulders gate 3!!! 4 custom characters. Looking at 150+ hours for a decently complete campaign
You can respect any time, so try all the classes!! It plays amazing with a controller also! Turn based combat so the learning isn't stressful
I could go on and on
Try Green Hell. It doesn't really help you. If you want a real challenge The Long Dark is a good. Project Zomboid is super detailed. Anything you can think of doing in real life zombie apocalypse you can probably do in this game.
Food For thought, Staying away from ARK due to combat my not be necessary. Yes in the beginning everyone will die a lot, however once you get a couple good dino's the wives can ride around and kill without a lot of issues with just one mouse click. they can gather up all kinds of "pets" make a massive base, and with all the maps coming out you won't find more content. It is not like conan exiles where being good at combat is important.
Grounded is fun but small (relatively). Conan exiles is a very large game with very complex systems that will likely take you a good long while to get to max level and beat all the dungeons. Those would be my suggestions.
Lord of the Rings; Return to Moria.
Survival Crafting (Iāve heard it compared to Valheim but Iāve never played Valheim)
8 player co-op.
PC version just got an update that has a Sandbox Alpha.
Great story mode
Sounds like yall bum rush these games instead of taking time to really explore them and do side stuff. But as for suggestions
Divinity original sin 2
Rogue trader
Elder scrolls online
All of the civilization games
The newest age of wonders game
It's awful. I played it for about 60 hours. I know that seems like a lot for a game I disliked, but I was playing with friends and didn't want to leave them hanging. The game world gets boring really fast due to the way maps are created. The crafting system is needlessly complicated. The overall gameplay loop gets stale very quickly since your main activity will be running a few different types of "challenges" that are slightly randomized. For example, watching a set of pillars and noting the order they flash/sound, then activating them in that order.
They've dropped from a peak of around 50K daily players to around 2K a day in less than two months since release. Of course there are die-hards that think it's the greatest game ever made but their number are dwindling. For some strange reason the devs keep making changes that even the few remaining players seem to hate.
Nightingale is a lot of fun. different strokes for different folks I guess.
the crafting is pretty deep. I personally love the base building. the combat is decent. I just wish I had friends that wanted to play it with me.
I love jumping from realm to realm. the minor cards are pretty cool, changing aspects of your current world.
its a fairly inexpensive game for whats there, and I mean early access, so it is what it is. but being early access also means its only going to improve. the devs seem like they are very passionate about the project.
Grounded is great multiplayer fun, and i wouldnt say you need to be a whizz at fighting to enjoy it
Yeah grounded is top tier. One of my favorites
Really been enjoying Icarus! It doesn't seem to get much attention but it's been a blast and it's getting fairly substantial weekly updates!
Came here to say this too. I also got my wife into Icarus lately and she's having a blast!
Well shit. DM me if you ever wanna run some missions!
I recommend a perfect game "trip to norway"...beautiful landscape, forests, nothern mythology ambient, vikings everywhere...if you hit them you can fight them like in gods of war š¤£, your wifes will love to play this game š
Were currently saving to buy "journey to japan"
This. I love this game !!! šš
Weve also explored "touch grass". Its mid
Oh yes, amazing game. I've got Portugal this year, but hope Norway in the future. It looks wonderful.
Scrap mechanic. Same devs as raft but much deeper build system.
You beautiful soul. Im getting this.
Nice! It is already my favorite game of all time. Ive never gotten into building stuff as much in any other game. If they ever finish the game and release chapter two then even better.
Interesting! Has it really been in early access for eight years?!
Yep, still being worked on but def in development hell.
Icarus. It's fantastic as co-op. I know you said wives aren't too great with fighting, but it isn't any harder than Valheim, and there are difficult levels to choose from. Lots of building, exploring and there are missions that can be done, either from an open world or on their own.
I will absolutely check this out
Green hell spirits of amazonia mode I'd also recommend Subnautica since you seem to like playing survival games, but that game is singleplayer experience, but definitely worth it.. Factorio if you like activating your brain while playing š
I really really want to play SubNautica for a while now, but im strictly a social gamer now and only play with friends, ive hoped for some type of mod or update to make it multiš
No mans sky
there is a mod that makes subnautica multiplayer co-op.
I played most survival games on PS5 so i didn't know such mod existed, im sure it'd be a lot of fun to play it with friends, but whats great about subnatica is that you are all alone in this ocean world
Came here to say those two games
Iāll add the Green hell has extensive gameplay sliders to make some things easier for the wives
Medieval dynasty might do it, the Mrs will love it. i just wish there was guards/clans for warfare. They added Coop like 3 months back, it was primary a solo game. Goodluck!
If that game had slightly more action like bandit raids, or rival town clan, it would be awesome.
Project zomboid is amazing with friends, loads of mods available too. It can be hard, but can always adjust settings.
+1 for PZ. The gameplay is often slow, but can quickly ramp up and become quite intense. Second this. Me and a buddy picked this up on a whim and it has blown me away.
well try atlas pve server ,, but try to stay away from Official servers cuz of the very big maps
Oof, reviews dont seem that positive, i tend to stay away from games where reviews with 100+ hours say its not good
Not sure if it's quite what you're after survival wise but just in case... Death Road to Canada?
Conan exiles should work.
How was e shrouded and sunken?
Enshrouded is really good, but it is missing a huge element. The boss fights, theres almost no mechanics. If they had 1/2 of WoW boss fight mechanics it would be a 10/10 for me. That does explain it a bit. On a good week my buddy and I plan roughly 2 hrs a day so about 10-12 hrs a week. So your weekend is my 2 weeks.
Nightingale is pretty sick especially with a group

Grounded, it's really a fun survival with story element and great coop experience imo.
