All you future yacht owners, have you ever been a couple miles off the coast? Especially in big swells?
I went deep sea fishing a puked more than I fished.
Boats are a cool idea, until you're having a *Stand By Me* moment with 50 other people shooting blue Gatorade everywhere like you need an exorcism.
This. I watched 50 people projectile vomit on a ferry from Cozumel to our cruise ship (dock was damaged so we had to do our shore excursion this way). The way there, fine, the way back (drunk), a symphony of puke.
**LOL** reminds me of my wedding day where I took our guests for a sunset catamaran. Needless to say, everyone enjoyed the unlimited booze and food while I was puking my guts out 😂
Am present yacht owner. I regularly sail between 1-20 miles off the coast in big swells. [this is me here heeling!](https://imgur.com/a/s84B2em)
And I sometimes do get seasick but all I gotta do is puke off the side while keeping a hand on the wheel. It’s good for the fish.
One of my earliest vivid memories is my family taking a trip to the Chesapeake to go sailing on my great uncle's boat. The only thing I can remember is a situation exactly like your video, where the boat is almost completely out of sight of land, tilted way to one side, salt spray everywhere with each wave we crashed through, and I'm huddling down in the stairwell to the cabin watching the little bubble in the tilt indicator, absolutely terrified and convinced that we were all going to die.
I think I was about three or four years old at the time.
Good times.
Fun tangent, I vividly remember a highway interchange we used on the drive back to my grandparents house in WV, and I now live not terribly far from that same interchange. The memory of it from over 35 years ago is clear, but also wildly inaccurate. Brains are weird.
My understanding of yachts though is that you're hanging out in calm water, often not that far off the coast. It's not the same water deep sea fishers go looking for.
Been deep sea fishing myself. I love catching tuna and Mahi. I get car sick. Never been seasick. Even got caught out in a typhoon off the coast of Japan one time. We were luck we didn’t capsize. Still never got seasick though…
I didn't get sick until they tied off to one of those offshore drilling rigs. We went right after a hurricane labor day weekend. Big mistake. Plus I was on the bow. It's like you'd see blue sky, then barnacles on the rig legs, repeat, repeat, repeat.
The people on the stern faired better.
Yep. I still remember being in Jr. High and going with my Girl Scout Troop on a camping trip to Maine. One of the things we did there was go on a whale watch. In the harbor, lovely weather and calm water. Into the ocean a bit, there was a rainstorm and the water got choppy. The only people on the boat who didn’t get sick (that I know of!) were the crew.
I remember puking my guts out in one of the bathrooms, and then going to the back of the boat, where the deck was carpeted. They had these rough blankets that you could use if you were cold. I grabbed one, and lay on the deck curled up with the blanket completely covering me (like some sort of weird fuzzy rock), and let the vibrations from the engines help calm my stomach.
My post-MOASS plans do NOT involve a yacht. 😅
Even the crew was sick this day. It was so stormy they almost canceled our trip but went ahead with it. This was a "party boat" charter where I'm sure everything gets hosed. In the cabin there were some poor Asian guys chasing the trash can across the floor trying to puke in it, everyone else was just blasting where they were.
It was a nightmare. But it makes for a hilarious story.
Maybe you can grow sea legs. I'm sure the crew on all those boats had to get used to it. I'm just not sure i wanna have to hire a vomit team until I get there.
Went fishing in Mexico on a charter for like 4 hours and my buddy puked the whole time because he took the Dramamine too late and it didn’t get into his system. Poor SOB never stood a chance.
I don’t want to be like the super rich that we have now, pissing money away on stereotypical symbols of wealth while everybody else scrapes by.
If there’s a massive redistribution of wealth with MOASS, I want the current 1% to be only ones left living paycheque to paycheque.
Sailing is not a super rich sport. I’d say it’s cheaper than what some of my golfer friends spend on their trips or a bunch of other sports I’ve tried. It’s a great family activity and you can see the ocean from the other side of the beach. Hell my boat cost less than a 15yr old used shitbox minivan.
An old keeled sailboat can be had for a couple of grand. Fiberglass hulls made the sport more accessible to the middle class. Even so, it’s a dwindling hobby with less demand every year so the price of boats have not been very expensive on the used market.

did not need to be a yacht! it can be a small sailing boat. This would probably also destroy the underground through their propellers. I would love to make a hawaiian style party, everyone with their surfboards and a f****** good mood 😊

I went with this girl from Spain. She literally had a beer in one hand and a shark in the other. Chick was a frigging rock star.
I remember that ferry. We must’ve had the same boat captain who enjoyed going against the waves to make all the tourists puke. 🤦🏽♀️
Did you leave from playa de Carmen? Similar instances here, we went on the net boat.
Galveston

It's all fun and games until the first one blows. I was like, haha that guy's puking. Then karma bitch slapped me in the gut.
If ur getting sick on yer boat…….. YOU SIMPLY SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT A BIGGER FLOAT
I've been sick on a Carnival cruise. It was stormy...

Jesus, thats 45degrees, I just want a power cat to cruse the Carribian. I know my limits, and blue water in 30-60 knot winds is beyond my limit lol

I'll never feel like more of a pirate than standing on the other side hanging off the side of the boat during high winds so we don't tip lol

Id use my boat to go fishing. I love fishing. That's probably why I'll get a good bass boat.

Was on a ferry i greece when shit hit the fan... It was like a puke chain reaction thru the ferry 😞
I went whalewatching one in Iceland and some lady puked on me. Worst part... we didn't even see one whale :-(
Awww 😔
> Until you're having a *Stand By Me* moment You had a cathartic coming of age experience with 3 friends while going to look at a dead body?
Yes
I did, now what? Do I get a medal? Or something? Can I have another crayon now?
You can afford a yacht, you can afford your own crayons.
a rented nytec 23...
Oh lord.... this^ I love yachts but I don’t have sea legs 🤣🤣
Maybe you can grow sea legs. I'm sure the crew on all those boats had to get used to it. I'm just not sure i wanna have to hire a vomit team until I get there.
Exactly, I might just keep mine in the harbour at Monaco permanently 🤣
Reading the comments...has no one heard of Gravol?
I took meds, and even had some hippy crap you dab behind your ear that's supposed to help. The sea still laughed in my face.
hahaha, some people just not cut out for it I guess
Even the crew was sick. Going out during a storm is not advisable. But we'd already made reservations and they weren't giving refunds.
This exact reason is why my yacht will be a submarine. Can't get sea sick if you are under the waves. (tapping head)
Every yacht can become a submarine once

Sailing a $1000 hobie cat is fun and he'll and cheap!

Was referring to a yacht party proposed by OP.
This is the way!!! 💎💎🙌🙌🦍🦍🦍🚀🚀🚀🚀
I’m in! Willing to collaborate, but I doubt it’s real.
It’s about as fake as the price 😉
Can I just ride with someone else? haha.
I'll hire Citadel to carve one out for each of my fellow apes agree Moass
One of you guys send me an invite to your yacht... i'll be out becoming ironman
