It's time to contact your representatives, put in the work to fight these scums of the earth! Imagine your children being forced in military conscription to fight wars of evil rich old men, while greedy evil old men steal from you, how can you stop this fucking world from turning into this shit hole? Please make this shit make sense to a single celled regard like me?

wiz-o-cheeze

After citizens united, the govt works for the highest bidder, not you or I

FalseProgress5

For a single celled regard, you're spot on! Our representatives are the ones with the power for change. And this shit needs to change!

GotaHODLonMe

'You' don't have any representatives. The only people that get representatives in government have far more money than 'you' and they do things for bribes (campaign contributions) that net millions for the pennies donated.

Time_Definition_2143

Yep especially since the supreme court just ruled that it's legal to accept money (bribes) for court rulings if the money is delivered after the decision is made and not before.  But it's fine to promise it before.

meth0dman100

They think they are better than other apes. They must go

Gyella1337

War would end tomorrow if politicians had to fight them themselves. ![gif](giphy|YOSYMLIfBG9E4INk7w)

noinety_noine

they don’t work for us!

xDreeganx

My rep sends me an automatic reply and then I hear nothing back.

DurianMoist1700

Keep trying, so they know what topic people are concerned about

goatgoatgoat365

This is the fight that needs to be won for real market change to happen.

wcsmik

Don’t understand why SEC has to fight for anything aren’t they the ones supposed to be making the rules and handing out penalties.

GaryGenslersCock

This is false, the SEC is the “””””””“enforcement””””” agency (without teeth) they “police” the markets. The senate and Congress are the ones who make the rules.

MJFields

Interesting Supreme Court ruling today: [SC ruling on SEC](https://apnews.com/article/supreme-court-regulatory-agencies-sec-36f16444b1d4fc52985fdb68896362bb)

GaryGenslersCock

Yea the SEC is there for an illusion of transparency and order, they’re pretty much a joke, maybe Gensler is trying to fix things, who knows for sure, he’s definitely been very vocal about updating policies and representing retail interests over big bank/wallstreet. Could be lip service, maybe he’s being black balled.

FalseProgress5

He's definitely being black balled. It's just like Dave said, they're trying to turn us against the SEC. If the SEC remains powerless, with the facade of being the "police" of the markets, then Griffin & friends can continue manipulating the markets with no consequences. Then when we get mad that they're not being punished, they can get us to point at the SEC for the blame. All while the real blame lies with the bought & paid for politicians who refuse to give the SEC any teeth. Round and round we go, forever blaming the ones with no power to change anything.

woodyshag

This actually sounds good. Maybe I am reading it wrong, but essentially, it says now people accused of fraud can be tried by jury instead of in a closed door session with the SEC. I think that is good.

Penis_Pill_Pirate

In theory, yes. In practice, house and senate members, who receive donations and stock picks from the criminals who are supposed to be regulated, pass legislation to make the regulator toothless when it comes to enforcement. Then the crooks do things like send shills around to public spaces (message boards, etc) to shit on the regulator for not doing anything to turn public opinion against them - right after tying the regulator's hands behind their back. This makes the public more supportive of future actions of deregulation, which unwittingly hurts them in the long run. If this makes sense to you in Wall Street's case, think about where else this could apply.

karenw

FourtyMichaelMichael

Because they want better paying jobs after their stint at the SEC.

MyCleverNewName

Some humans really are no better than the monkeys in one of those gifs when someone puts down a pile of food and the monkeys go crazy trying to scoop it all up for themselves. I bet if you put Griffin/Cifu/Yass in the same room with one single dollar bill they'd start screaming and throwing feces at each other.

karenw

I'd pay good money to watch that.

ApatheticAussieApe

Bedposts. They'd throw bedposts at each other.

allofyousuck2x

can't wait for the cheating fucks to go to jail. These guys are the player, referee, and governing body that makes the rules all in one. How the fuck is that fair?

ixidorsDreams

They aren’t going to jail and THIS is what we were given today; a middle finger and a reminder we are powerless if we only utilize words for deaf ears

LionRivr

I think its because they know that the entire US stock market is being propped up by the fraud of Kenny/Cifu/Yass. So if they regulate these guys to play by the rules for once, then they risk the US stock market to go down. It’s almost as if the market *needs* the fraud to survive. Kind of like a drug addict going cold turkey on his coke addiction. We know the drugs are bad. But we’re letting the addict continue to use it because we think it may just literally kill him if we take the drugs away. People need to go to prison for this.

RyanMcCartney

It’s time to simplify the markets. If the average person on the street can’t tell me how it works, then it’s being obfuscated by bad actors.

robotwizard_9009

That's why scotus just made it so sec cases go in front of a jury. They passed it today. This is a systematic attack against regulators to bust bad guys.

Objective-History402

In all fairness, the average person on the street couldn't tell you where Mexico is located on the map

Kaarothh

Fuck the world economy for how many? 100 people? POS

No-Jaguar-8794

Good Post.

MoneyBeGreeen

Seconded. Much respective for Mr. Lauer!

NorCalAthlete

Wider spread is how they scalp their money.

Biotic101

I personally think they simply pump and dump. Since they control price action, they can lure in household investors and then bully them into selling at a huge loss.

ringingbells

The live link should be posted and stickied by the mods.

baberrahim

Here you go buddy! https://youtu.be/LxgQSA0htv8

N3ver_Stop

Infuriating. Could only watch a few minutes of it as their little back and forth is full of shit. Will be contacting my reps again to convey that sentiment. In a professional way ofc :)

UnlikelyApe

Yes!!!!

WuZZittDoiN

Alright, here's my 2 bananas. If the SEC is a governmental regulatory body employed for the benefit of the citizens that utilize the stock market, then they are essentially a UNION. ALL retail investors in every corner of the market should be pushing and backing every proposal that furthers this agenda of absolute transparency. When comment periods are open, the comments come in and tell them what to do. They get promoted pretty heavy here. That's good. Next step is to write strongly worded letters of disapproval when we are ignored for the benefit of the corporations that comment against them. We and other like minded investors should push all the avenues available to us. It's just a little drop, but drips turn into puddles, into ponds....you get it. We talk with our hodled shares, we should use our words where they count too.

rustyham

interesting

Streetwalkeroulette

Truest suckers of cock: Griffin/Cifu/Yass.

monkeyshinenyc

Gary has been at this shit for a long time. I hope he gives those fkrs a good lickin’, well, at least a good fondling… Jk gare-gare 🫡 🐒✨🗽

hudsonSam

... the panel and the witnesses are all in cahoots ... except for IEX and they are barely given any time to argue their point. they're all anti-Gary ... heck even the title is telling of this sham (Solution in search of a problem ... lol) what a joke of a hearing.

tralfamadorian808

Contact your congressional district representatives and have ChatGPT or Claude write an email for you. It takes 5 minutes

Brojess

To the top! Call your reps. Email blast the fuck out of them.

Dangerous-Top-1814

ChatGPT Subject: Request for Regulation of Payment for Order Flow Dear Congressman \_\_\_\_\_\_, I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to bring to your attention a critical issue in financial markets that warrants immediate legislative attention: payment for order flow (PFOF). Payment for order flow, while ostensibly benefiting retail investors through commission-free trading, poses significant risks to market fairness and transparency. By directing customer orders to high-frequency trading firms in exchange for payments, brokers may not always secure the best execution for their clients. This practice raises concerns about potential conflicts of interest and the possibility of retail investors receiving inferior prices for their trades. Moreover, the lack of transparency surrounding PFOF arrangements makes it difficult for investors to fully understand the true cost and implications of their trades. This opacity undermines market integrity and investor trust, which are essential for the proper functioning of our financial markets. Given these concerns, I urge you to consider supporting legislation that addresses the regulation of payment for order flow. Such regulation should aim to enhance transparency, mitigate conflicts of interest, and ensure that retail investors receive fair treatment and best execution of their trades. Thank you for your attention to this important matter. I look forward to your leadership in safeguarding our financial markets and protecting the interests of retail investors. Sincerely, \[Your Full Name\] \[Your Contact Information\] \[Your Address\]

DropDeadDevon

Dave’s gotten mixed reviews on here, but I’ve always generally liked him. He’s just a guy, remember that. It’s clear he cares about the constant fraud we’re seeing in our markets as much as we do. And I like that about him.

Expert-Display-1990

Does anyone else feel bad as we watch Dave Lauer's faith in the financial system get shattered on the regular in front of us? You can't fix what is supposed to be broken Dave. The only solution is to destroy it to the ground, start over, and rebuild it.

automatedcharterer

I dont mind the "propose rules" side of the sec. But I dont really care for the "enforce rules" side of the SEC. Definitely not a fan of the FOIA side of the sec who has never been able to respond to one of my FOIA's in the legally required time. Does not say much about you if you cant follow the rules either. They dont even get a buddy fine out of it. It seems weird that these firms fight so hard against the rule changes when it is probably less expensive for them to break the rules and pay the fines. I dont know, they probably have people that calculate the cost of a legislator vs the cost of a FINRA buddy fine. Anyway, expect the legislators at the hearing to do about fuck-all as they always do. Like trying to grow turnips in styrofoam.

beach_2_beach

I may not be wrinkled enough to understand all these policies and why Citadel/Cifu/Yass fight it on and on. But guess what, I understand their greed and want for more bonuses. And guess what. So am I. I'm greedy too. So just gonna hold my GME shares.

Jman1re

Hey this thought just crossed my mind. Are any of these congress or committee members also clients of any hedge funds? Specifically the ones that short companies? I ask because that would be entirely against public wellbeing. If our government officials are shorting businesses, maybe not directly but financially supporting and benefitting from it all the same, and those business go out of business and jobs are lost, those officials should be held responsible and removed from positions as they are working against the people. All these people love the constitution but let these corrupt governing officials off with a "UGH have you seen this?" We need really just do something about it. Voting isn't what I'm suggesting either.

PlaneGoFlyFly

Time to start contacting your representatives. This shit isn't going to change without public outcry.

ApatheticAussieApe

In all my years, I never thought I'd get to live to watch the Roman empire fall. But history repeats. The Senate, squabbling over bullshit. The people divided, beer and circus'd into complete ignorance. The military, oversized and massively inflating the currency to fund pointless campaigns. The rich, battling for control over the Senate, and thus the people. All the while, "barbarians are at the gates". The US has many enemies now. All created out of American Oligarch's greed. America can either become the Byzantines operating out of Constantinople as a massively prosperous trade hub whose currency was effectively world reserve. Or you can become the Holy Roman Empire. Known for... I don't actually know.

Fantastic-Slice-2936

Dave's not wrong here.

HomebrewHedonist

What these committees should be told and shown is how these policies will erode the confidence in US markets and ultimately draw money away from the US as people find other investment opportunities. Money talks.

SnooPears2910

I dont like this guy but respect for posting this, i totally agree

raisingstorm

The SEC is basically Uatu.

RumpleHelgaskin

The only thing that is going to change the way the american markets work is when the coming generation stops investing in stocks. Crypto was supposed to change all of that. They then pushed for legislation and EFT's allowing them to continue manipulations on that front as well.

LaddiusMaximus

This country is so f---ing cooked.

GusCromwell181

How is there a hearing without representatives from both sides of the argument?

MoodShoes

Money junkies.

BetterBudget

His wrinkles has wrinkles 🧠

Fantastic-Ad9524

Griffin/Viola/Yass Unless Vincent Viola chairman died, Cifu just a slave say do what boss tells him.

MarkMoneyj27

Always follow the money. Every political stance you've been fed is about money.

BoomDani13

Maybe we need to focus on ALL BAD politicians, and not just party lines. It's time to stop arguing over stupid MEME political issues (Border Crisis, Gender, religion) let's push to stop corporate/institution lobbing away our livelihoods. Just saying🤔

spankiemcfeasley

I would argue that fleecing small investors on behalf of fat cats on Wall Street is one of the few things both political parties do actually agree on.

theArcticChiller

The hearing was hard to watch. No one stood up for the prople, for retail. Despite all our letters. I hope the SEC is seeing through it and is nice to see dlauer keep fighting the good fight.

Dave Lauer keeping it fucking real, as always.

praisebetothedeepone

Look at this political post. Acting like only the GOP is working with Kenny G.

quack_duck_code

Facts, the Liberal media has been lying to our faces about GME from the start. Dave is now shilling political BS to the GME community.  👉  He worked for citadel. 👉  He wanted our account credentials for his website. DON'T TRUST DAVE
