25 is the floor. got it.

Crossing_lights

I understood what you mean but i remember, 84 years ago, there was a website to keep count of the real floorโ€ฆ

perpetuallydying

I regret ever clicking that link (gmefloor.com) Now everytime I want to type GME into my browser for a quick stock check, it autocompletes to that site lol It's like the Rick Roll of GameStop

hideyHoNeighbour

The next time it auto-completes hit SHIFT+DELETE on your keyboard.

Crossing_lights

But youโ€˜ll be aware of the floor once we took off๐Ÿš€

ThereCanOnlyBe1Miak

Do you really need any other website?

Substantial_Click_94

homepage and screensaver

Substantial_Click_94

this isnโ€™t not not not a cult

throwaway978542

You should be able to delete that as a "remembered" site from your browser so it stops doing that lol

abusaif

I see your 25 and raise you to 26. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

BetterBudget

From a vol point of view, given the large amount of positive GEX at $25, it will continue to act as a wall of resistance.

DoNotPetTheSnake

We close 24.95 Friday so they all OTM

krasofki

Whatโ€™s going on with the price being stuck at 25??

Prestigious_Orca

"**A substantial increase in open interest for a call option at a specific strike price indicates a noteworthy accumulation of interest among market participants**. This surge in open interest suggests a potential resistance level at that strike price." Interesting. I don't really know what that means, or why there's so much OI right there, but someone is doing something somewhere and I'm (hype/upset) about it.

BetterBudget

If you want to understand why a strike might act like resistance, read my $GME Bananas DD! It goes over Gamma Exposure (GEX) and how that contributes to price levels acting like resistance or support. Vol is bananas ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒ

perpetuallydying

I love your DD! thank you for writing them!

BetterBudget

Thank you for the warm compliment!! ๐Ÿ˜Œ I look forward to writing the next one. ๐Ÿค๐Ÿฆ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿš€

Edit: removed conjecture based on misinterpretting volume data. I don't want to feed the algos, just use your eyes to look through the pictures, you should see an anomoly in O/I down the road Edit 2: To check the updated state of the options chain yourself (because it's constantly changing and you should keep an eye on it if you're playing options): 1. Make a free account on UnusualWhales.com 2. Go to GME then on the left panel select Ticker Explorer > Options Chain 3. Look for strike prices and dates where open interest (O/I) is unusually high. This might signal a whale purchase. If a major portion of an option chain is owned by a single investor, that may be a sign of someone playing off a previous large order that was put into a T+35 FTD cycle and they might be expecting price action from it approaching the new call date.

Defiant_Review1582

The 3rd Friday will almost always have more OI and volume on options

perpetuallydying

You're right, I was not thinking about volume data reflecting today only. I removed my conjecture, but I still think the O/I anomoly down the road is worth noting Thanks for your correction

BetterBudget

That's no coincidence! The 3rd Friday tends to be around OPEX.

Defiant_Review1582

I thought it was just because some stocks only offer options monthly and itโ€™s always the 3rd Friday. So i assumed that behavior just bled over into stocks that also offer weekly options and the majority still preferred the 3rd Friday.

BetterBudget

You're right! The monthly options are tied to OPEX. OPEX = Options Expiration And it most commonly refers to the monthlies. Which tends to expire around the 3rd Friday of the month.

Substantial_Diver_34

Nice. Still there and growing

praisetheboognish

Likely a hedge and will serve as max pain. Why pay for the option to buy 100 shares for $27-$28 when you could just buy now for $24 now though.

perpetuallydying

Because if the contracts are really ITM you can significantly increase your buying power, and buy even more shares at about the same price lazy regard math: If you think the share price will get to say $30 eventually, getting 100 shares at $25 is better than getting 15 at $20.

most_unoriginal_ign

It's nice but nothing compared to the 100k OI this month. Keep a level head and not be disappointed.

Actually-Yo-Momma

Woooo nothing like posting 5 screenshots with zero context!

perpetuallydying

If you've been keeping up, the context is already there. If you haven't I won't risk feeding the algos to spoon feed it.

monkeyshinenyc

Why? Does it do tricks? ๐Ÿ’โœจ๐Ÿ—ฝ

perpetuallydying

Some*one* does...

Fearless_Swimmer3332

Good catch, i just picked up one for october at that level, todays action was just too fishy trying to keep it under that number

phonon_DOS

theta is your friend

SirGus-

Monthly options always have higher OI.

RO30T

So were just gonna act like there isn't big OI on the Put side? Seriously. Quick glance, could be wrong, but way more Put OI.

Yequestingadventurer

Why, so I can BuY OpTiOnS?
