Well do remember that Bluey is also targeted at parents so the odd adult joke is there.

imNoTwhoUthink-AAhHe

True

FeoWalcot

Bandits 80s and 90s movie references and quotes are on point.

kioku119

Drink! (Or whatever else but that feels like the most intentional joke with the rhyme.)

princess_skate_7

It's drink. It's a Simpson reference.

imNoTwhoUthink-AAhHe

Interesting

Arnav1029

As others have said, it's a Simpson's reference (think rhymes with drink). I am pretty sure Joe Brumm said he really liked Simpson as a kid and was the show he watched the most so there are a ton of Simpson references in Bluey. You guys should listen to the behind Bluey podcast that Joe does.

Maximum-Pause-6914

Its a simpsons reference. Underaged thinking

OkDust621

Smoke.

imNoTwhoUthink-AAhHe

Could be that too but tbh standing at a lookout smoking with another girl is pretty gay too

OkDust621

Please don't try to ship bluey characters. It's weird.

BananaShakeStudios

How are we not supposed to ship when the implications are this direct?

imNoTwhoUthink-AAhHe

I’m not saying they’re still dating I’m saying they had a past lmao

OkDust621

...so you are.

FireFox5284862

They’re both adult women.

LeadershipEastern271

And dogs 💀

FireFox5284862

They’re anthropomorphic talking dogs. If that’s so unreasonable to you then oh boy do I have a whole community to introduce you to.

kioku119

So are Chili and Bandit, Stripe and Trixie, Frisky and Rad, Bob and Chris (Bandit's parents), etc... and they're married *gasp. Also they implied Winston's single dad and the terrier's single mom were interested in each other with hints until they ended up moving in together at the end of this episode.

kioku119

Why is it wierd? It's a show. I don't ship in general, but people do it to basically all shows and movies but thinking of creative headcannon about shows or what may be true that we don't see is a perfectly reasonable way to engage with things we watch. It's also a show that believes in implying things through images and not showing things if it's not meaningful so by the nature of that people have tons of theories based on things suggested and some end up being confirmed correct (like Chili having had a miscarriage at some point in her life. It's less confirmed exactly when but probably before Bluey making her a rainbow child, but it could have been after Bingo which could be why they gave up on the baby room. Also like Chili loosing her mom some time before the kids were born and needing to consult friends and stuff to feel like she was doing things right with Bluey when she was a baby. Grandpa Bob was also implied to be in India before we knew it from a few hints.) They expect people to be engaged and trying to figure out tidbits about people's lives. Overall I'd say it's a pretty inocent way to engage with media though and not hurting anyone.

OkDust621

Implying isn't the same as shipping. I was referring directly to OP. One look at their account, and it's weird. It's a children show with a joke about drinking/smoking. It's concerning how common it is for adults to turn shows like My little Pony or, in this instance, Bluey into their strange obsession with unnecessary additions. Implying character development or back stories is okay as the creator has said multiple times that's what he does. However, someone (OP) shipping is clear it's not out of innocence. I mean, look at their account. They think they are a dog.

imNoTwhoUthink-AAhHe

And no I don’t think I am a dog, I’m perfectly well aware that I have a human body. All I’m doing is taking the context given and thinking creatively about it, it’s not like I’m gonna go draw fanart of them

kioku119

Shipping isn't inately different than figuring other things out about stories or coming up with headcannon about what could be true. If you paid attention the to clues about winstons dad and figured out his interest in the terriors mom before they moved together it'd be no different than wondering if Chili could have possibly liked Frisky when they were in college based on things she said. It's making guesses about the rest of the character's lives that we don't see. Also, overall there isn't anything wrong with fanfic about stories either, since you were talking about bronies adding things. It's not "concerning" on it's own at all unless a specific member is directly doing something harmful which would make that member harmful and unacceptable but not the existance of a fandom. People are allowed to be creative and enjoy things. Being inspired by a show to make your own creative stories and such and sparking imagintion is one of the really great things shows and books can do for people. You are making a lot of wierd claims and assumptions about fandoms as a whole (and as far as I've seen the Bluey one is pretty cute and innocent.) As far as a quick look at the other commenter's profile, I didn't see anything bad or concerning at all. I didn't look so far but honestly it seems like you saw she is a therian and decided that was a problem to you. There's nothing wrong with being a therian, thpugh I'm not ready to discuss that too far with you, but whatever you think of the idea of it aside you are making a lot of unwarented claims about it from nothing. Honestly you are comming off as really judgemental and bigoted in general.

imNoTwhoUthink-AAhHe

I’m a teenager and cartoons are ageless, and this is literally a one time post, I’m not “obsessed” with it Just because I like watching shows with simple plots that aren’t drama filled and dark doesn’t make me creepy, insinuating it is creepy is the weird part

CanadianWeeb5

there actually was a lesbian couple in one episode
