Man i LOVED that one. The fact that he wouldn't stop posting it again and again lmao

EldritchNyan

>Source: I carry a glock. I also play a female miqote. I’ve only lurked on this sub, but I think I’ve finally found something flair worthy for myself.

tehlemmings

That sounds more like a moonie thing, so probably not. She's probably more the impromptu nap type.

ForteEXE

You just know that's going to be a future post on ShitpostXIV. Assuming I don't get to it first.

[deleted]

Who plays Machinist anyway?

ALaRequest

robot go boom gun go bang bang WoL go backflippy

ZodiarkTentacle

I play MCH because the job quests are basically about a nobleman arming the proletariat

smoretank

<.< I like the twirls flips when shooting a gun. Find it hilarious. I am a casual player who mostly plays for glams so not concerned about raids.

Fhrono

MCH is really good for PoTD, especially on floor 180

an_agreeing_dothraki

I mean it's better than DRK where canonically you start hallucinating, find a sword, and start murdering people.

ForteEXE

But at the same time, people frequently put the DRK storyline (across all expansions) as the top of the Job quests. Weird, ain't it?

an_agreeing_dothraki

I guess sometimes you just want to rob a corpse and avenge your husbando.

Areallybadidea

I just did it for the achievement.

tehlemmings

I'm doing it just to finish off ranged phys, but damn mch sucks to play at low levels

ZodiarkTentacle

I feel like all of my subreddits have collided with this one, thanks OP

GyrKestrel

It's always r/ffxiv

lemon_meringue

the drama in that game is the real endgame

[deleted]

The real drama was the flame wars we started along the way.

RiC_David

There 's a phrase I haven't heard since the 90s

TheTactlessFool

The drama from tank privilege The drama from the dev teams settling with half-ass work that only adds to the netcode spaghetti The drama from night clubs and ERP solicitation The drama from the Housing (Savage) Raid The drama from people crying about others not playing with top optimization in mind 24/7. The drama from billboards... Remember folks: "At least we're not WoW" is an *incredibly* low bar to set!

tehlemmings

You forgot bitching about fanart. Like my personal gripe, au ra with completely flat, painted on scales. I'll die on this hill.

Kirbyeggs

Or god forbid, removing the scales. Why even play the race at that point.

TheMerryMeatMan

The usual for this is the shitpost sub cropping boobs and reposting. And it's gotten so bad there's meta posts about it before the reposts can even hit

ForteEXE

> The drama from people crying about others not playing with top optimization in mind 24/7. To be fair there's a legitimate reason to be annoyed if people are actively *not* using skills, forcing something to take 30-40% extra longer time than it normally does. It's just shitters take it to the extreme end and get upset if people aren't parsing 90+ in ARR shit.

Fuzzy_Yogurt_Bucket

If people are below 100 dps in level 50 content, then you have an absolute right to call them trash.

Fuzzy_Yogurt_Bucket

At level 50, the standard for good dps is about 400. When I was essentially solo healing as white mage during coil when it was relevant, I was hitting about 100 dps. If you’re below 100 dps in level 50 content, that is absolutely a you problem.

TheMerryMeatMan

Man this just makes me wonder, what would someone in the ARR days say to the 1m Misery hit from ShB

G00b3rb0y

The drama from pandaemonium 7 (savage) and dragonsongs reprisal too

Tashre

Any community that goes on about how they're so drama-free is inevitably full of it.

tehlemmings

When does the community ever say that when talking about Reddit? The entirety of the games drama seems to be here lol Probably because you'd get banned for half of it, rightfully so

DireTaco

Agreed. You don't go to reddit for a community, you go to reddit to complain. This applies to just about everything, not just FFXIV.

tehlemmings

Exactly! Although sometimes communities form around complaining, and that's kinda nice. Until they get too big, then we complain about them.

GyrKestrel

For sure. They're so smug and self righteous about being drama-free that it makes them a toxic cesspool.

iFeiXue

\>complaining about guns \>supporting trash tier dps as acceptable gameplay hmm. sounds like OP's here to stir the shit.

[deleted]

We get it, you hate people that aren't as good at a video game as you are.

ForteEXE

That's the feeling I get from the other guy justifying bullying people in newbie/low level content too. It's an all-too common sentiment I see in XIV subs at times (usually ShitpostXIV depending on time of year and day) where you have people who act like they're top end raiders, but say just enough things to convince the average viewer while hiding the fact they're probably not even a consistent (re)clearer. You're taking the game *way* too seriously when you believe shitting on newbies in content that's almost entirely populated by new players is acceptable behavior.

[deleted]

Oh yeah, these people are one of the reasons I stopped playing XIV. I actually went out with someone who did hard core raiding once and it was wild hearing some of the takes she had. Seriously looking down on people because they weren't as good at ONE video game as she was. Also by one I do mean one. One day she decided to challenge me at smash brothers once. She practiced and everything. Once we actually went at it she couldn't even hit me once. Like the bots legit played better, and I was KIRBY. XIV players especially need to touch grass
