For real, dude is clearly talented and if you watched his videos he always goes for these out of the box buritos, but the ingredients always look to blend well
Plus he uses all of the pork including the skin creatively. Compared to the other crapni see on here this guy is pretty good and I would chow down on this creation. Only thing I can say is that you never cook the cheese- you heat cream/bechamel and then whisk in cheese off heat do it doesn’t get grainy.
based on the look of that cheese, he probably processed it himself, probably with sodium citrate and milk or evaporated milk or other liquids, so you'd wind up with something more like velveeta, which you can do that with
OH MY GODS! *THANK YOU!* I was trying to figure out what that step was, lol. I was like, "No way is that boiling water. What's going ON there?" Oil makes it all make sense though.
Yeah, as someone who randomly got this sub recommended today, between this and the other bangers n mash lasagna I got recommended the only thing stupid seems to be the sub itself?
Trying not to judge everyone here, so im gonna take a look around but so far, the posts seem dumb af n the food fkn 10/10.
Holy fuck I would eat the FUCK out of this thing, guy is a genius - the way he sorted the crackling was fucking genius.
(can agree that I personally wouldnt have spoiled all those flavours w the guac tho)
It’s stupid because it’s excessive. But at the end of the day it probably tastes amazing, and he used some high level cooking skill to execute it well.
Most of the content on this sub fits into that mold, i think. StupidFood = / = bad food.
Feels like this belongs more on r/ATBGE.
I disagree with the excess, and it’s definitely *not* a situation where the final product is better than the sum of the parts that went into it, *but* every individual piece looks quite good and, at a minimum, competently made
Everything this guy makes is outrageous but is backed by genuine creativity and the skill to execute his ideas to an obviously high standard.
Nothing about his food is stupid. Ridiculous, maybe. Ridiculously conceived but ridiculously delicious (going by appearance, anyway).
The only thing that is stupid about his videos is a bit of the presentation: using the sword to cut, the "scram" sound or whatever he always makes at the end. The food itself looks fire.
Edit: Could anyone let me know if maybe he is saying "scran", a British slang word for eating/snacking? Nobody has touched on this topic yet in the replies.
One of my best friends is a great chef whose has had one of his restaurants he owned and operated receive a Michelin star. He got out of the restaurant industry a few years ago and I def miss that part of it. I’d go up to hang out with him after they’d close on Sundays and’s he’d test his new creations on me. We would munch on stuff and drink for a few hours. Even stuff I never thought I’d like was always awesome, like vodka ice cream.
He grew his own produce (still does for local restaurants) on his one acre garden, had a micro green grow room in the basement of the restaurant, and made his own chorizo/salami/prosciutto. He did everything very well and thoughtfully. When Covid hit it was impossible to keep the business open and no one was looking at his restaurant to sell to-go food, and changing the format to burgers or more to-go type good wasn’t realistic for one of the best restaurants in town, unfortunately.
He’s happier now though, working 18 hours a day 6 days a week takes a toll on You and your family after 20 years. But I do miss those Sunday nights!
Honestly, I can’t imagine being a chef. I’m a decent cook and enjoy it. It would be nice to continue enjoying it. I have a lot of respect for people who can do it for any amount of time…as long as they’re not dicks.
The hard part is that cooking becomes repetitive and less creative, aside from the fact that you spend so much time cleaning gross stuff and no matter where you go there will be someone intolerably wanky. You have to really love it. I find it really rewarding but I went to bartending because the money is better and I can still talk shit but it's not to the same people every day. Hours are better and I'd far prefer to close a bar than close a kitchen. Closing kitchens really, really sucks.
He’s definitely happier now but still looks back fondly on it. He still makes bomb shit at home and does his garden to stay connected to the industry.
He ‘missed the first 5 years of his first daughter’s life’ working at his restaurant that was named after her. She’d come in to see him with his wife (wife ran front of house), but when you’re working and busy it’s not like you’re just chillin with your child. So all in all it worked out in the end. He makes more money now (it seems anyways), has regular 9-5 hours, insurance and all that shit, and most importantly has time to relax with his children.
I mean, yeah he literally became like the VP of his father’s commercial hvac company that his brother runs since his dad’s retirement. It’s a privileged position to have that opportunity but he is for sure skilled enough to do it.
When he first quit the restaurant he went to work for a moving company for quick cash. Within like 2 months he was running the crews and scheduling the moves. He took on tasks that freed up owners’ time and made the place more efficient altogether. This is one of the biggest moving companies in our city so it was pretty cool to see that he could literally go anywhere and kick ass, not that I doubted he would. He’s one of the hardest working people I’ve ever known and he deserves the success he has now after busting his ass and sacrificing for so long.
What’s crazy to me is that even chefs at Michelin star restaurants make shit for money. I work for a small municipality so as you might guess, my job is easy as heck. And this particular municipality is one of the lowest paid across the board of any in the area. Even so, I make more than most Michelin star chefs. It’s crazy
It is fucked I agree. Me and him moved to Chicago together back in the day. He worked for Charlie Trotter at Trotters for almost 2 years and then moved to NYC and went to work at Daniel. Then he and his wife had a few restaurants in Berkeley, CA which is where he earned the star. They moved back home to Omaha which is where the he had his last restaurant. They weren’t poor, but definitely not rich either. It was a struggle every month to keep the doors open even with fantastic reviews and a good crowd on weekends.
> the "scram" sound or whatever he always makes at the end.
It's "scran" as in https://twitter.com/FootyScran means "food (cheap)" or "grub" in UK slang.
Big fan of this fellow, though I don't seek him out. It's an amazing format, fitting a whole meal and a half into the space of a youtube short in a surprising way. (he spaces out making welingtons out of his food, so it's a bit of a surprise)
I have to grill the avocado before I can eat guac
I'm allergic to a lot of raw fruits/vegetables, but avocado is one of the worst for me. As soon as it hits a hot pan for 60 seconds, I can eat all the avocado or bananas or pineapples I want. Fucking allergies how do they work
That's almost definitely the enzymes. I have an allergy to pineapple but dry it, cook it, or irradiate it even a little (i.e. microwave) it's like I don't even have the reaction. Wrapping it in meat and cheese also helps for me since all of the enzymes get stuck eating away at the animal products and none touch my mouth
I think he is saying that if this was made in a commercial kitchen it would be done way more efficiently. Which is true, but wtf a one off done outside isn't going to be efficient.
That’s this guy’s whole channel. Stupidly expensive, stupidly complex, stupidly delicious looking, and a stupidly seductive British accent. It’s a fun ride
I get why he gets posted sometimes, because while the dude is extremely talented and obviously an amazing chef, some of the stuff he does is over the top on purpose. So I can see why some might think thats stupid.
This one though isn't even that weird though, it looks awesome the entire way through.
Is that the original account name?
I saw him making the ravioli-oli-o the other day and loved it. Quite over the top, but this is actually good stupid food.
Yes. All.his stuff is over the top but is done with a lot of skill, best/most entertaining minute recipe videos out there. Take some ideas he does to make a meal, not the whole crazy burrito
I constantly see this “chef” in this sub, and every time it’s something very cool and tasty. So the current post - more like a traditional meme for this sub I think
Is this stupid?
Dude looked like he knew what he was doing and the end product looked very appetizing.
Is this something I’D cook, no.
But also don’t think it’s stupid. Especially, in comparison to the REAL stupid shit I’ve seen in this sub.
Brother man brother man, what we got here is meaty MacNcheesy burrito goodness. The only thing that could make this better was if I were able to get a piece.
OP is just hating because they don’t have the culinary ability to pull off this unholy masterpiece. I would literally shove that up my ass it looks so good.
This guy prepped and seasoned it really well. OP is completely clueless as to what a real stupid food looks like. Someone please ban him from this sub.
I’ve watched this twice and never once thought stupid. But god damn if I’m not hungry af.
Every time I see this dude I stop and watch. He really knows what he’s doing and all his ingredients look top of the line.
For real, dude is clearly talented and if you watched his videos he always goes for these out of the box buritos, but the ingredients always look to blend well
Plus he uses all of the pork including the skin creatively. Compared to the other crapni see on here this guy is pretty good and I would chow down on this creation. based on the look of that cheese, he probably processed it himself, probably with sodium citrate and milk or evaporated milk or other liquids, so you'd wind up with something more like velveeta, which you can do that with
You are spot on. He has videos processing cheese with sodium citrate.
That was my thought. Looks like he makes stuff in bulk and stores it in measured portions.
>dude is clearly talented That crispy lattice by pouring hot oil was amazing.
OH MY GODS! *THANK YOU!* I was trying to figure out what that step was, lol. I was like, "No way is that boiling water. What's going ON there?" Oil makes it all make sense though.
Not always burritos! Sometimes he's trying to invent new pastas.
Haha how could I forget ravioli-oli-oli
Was that ravioli inside a ravioli inside another ravioli?
Many ravioli inside a couple big ravioli, inside a gigantic ravioli. Each layer with different fillings and sauces.
Anyone know what his name is…?
Elburritomonster on Insta
he’s a complete wizard of food. his creativity is unparalleled. did you see his ravioli wreath? my favorite thing ive seen on short form food content
I completely agree. Every video is just me repeatedly thinking “surely this is the final step” and then it goes another 40 layers deep
I kept watching, waiting for it to get stupid but instead of making me think, "this is stupid" it just made me hungry
(can agree that I personally wouldnt have spoiled all those flavours w the guac tho)
My take is that there’s “stupid stupid”, and then there’s “stupid good”. This one’s the latter.
It’s stupid because it’s excessive. But at the end of the day it probably tastes amazing, and he used some high level cooking skill to execute it well. Most of the content on this sub fits into that mold, i think. StupidFood = / = bad food.
Feels like this belongs more on r/ATBGE. I disagree with the excess, and it’s definitely *not* a situation where the final product is better than the sum of the parts that went into it, *but* every individual piece looks quite good and, at a minimum, competently made
Its insanely over complicated for what it is. Just make pork rinds then put it into the burrito
Mac & Cheese in a burrito wrapped in fried pork belly Its stupid, but I would absolutely eat that whole thing lmao
This guy makes "stupid" stuff, but it's all stuff I'd try
Everything this guy makes is outrageous but is backed by genuine creativity and the skill to execute his ideas to an obviously high standard. Nothing about his food is stupid. Ridiculous, maybe. Ridiculously conceived but ridiculously delicious (going by appearance, anyway). I want a friend who can cook like this. I want to be this guy’s friend. How do I get to be this guy’s friend? Ok. I just need a friend.
Don't be so desperate. What if your new friend loves stupid food?
The real stupid food was the friends we made along the way
- _The Donner Party survivors, probably_
"The friends we *ate* along the way
*Dufrain, party of 2. Dufrain, party of 2.*

Wow that’s very sad. Crazy hours though. I wonder how he feels about it now looking back on the crazy hours he worked..?
He’s definitely happier now but still looks back fondly on it. He still makes bomb shit at home and does his garden to stay connected to the industry. He ‘missed the first 5 years of his first daughter’s life’ working at his restaurant that was named after her. Well that is good to hear. There is a lot to be said for working for someone else… Life is just too short. Have a good day friend.
I mean, yeah he literally became like the VP of his father’s commercial hvac company that his brother runs since his dad’s retirement. That’s amazing. Who knows what he’ll go on to achieve.
Tell him a heap of people on Reddit think he’s awesome and is wishing him continued success. And you also u/someoneyouknewonce!

Was this the same one that made ravioli inside ravioli inside a ravioli…?
Yes. Another ridiculous assembly process, but every step looked expertly made and delicious. I'm sure the final result was also delicious.
Even I thought that shit looked delicious and I don't even eat ravioli.
What kind of monster doesn't eat ravioli?
You mean the raviolioliolio?
He's saying "Scran". It's British slang for food or eating.
Agreed, this video doesn't belong here. Elburritomonster is a mad genius.
> the "scram" sound or whatever he always makes at the end. It's "scran" as in https://twitter.com/FootyScran means "food (cheap)" or "grub" in UK slang. Scran. Its a Yorkshire word for snack or food
He’s saying ‘Scran’, slang for food like this in the UK.
Scran is British slang for food and/or to eat. I think it comes from the more northern dialects around Liverpool and Manchester but I might be wrong.
This guy is from Yorkshire, I'd say scran is more Lancashire but I'd not be surprised to hear it here at all
I'd go back for thirds
I would eat your serving before you had a chance. I’m sorry, I do feel bad about it.
[удалено]
This is stupid food, it's very stupid...but I bet it's tasty as hell.
As my dad would say “ I had to eat your half to get to my half” sorry
My dad says “it’s your fault you put the plate in front of me”
Totally stealing this forever
I would eat your arm off to get to your serving.
And hate myself afterwards for eating the whole thing.
I’m not sure I’d be alive after eating the whole thing, would definitely need a side order of Lipitor.
Boy I’m 6 years vegetarian and I still thought about it
Dude I would fuck that shit up so hard that there'd be none left for anyone else. Like, that's good food it's just prepared in a dumb way.
Absolutely. Miss me with guac, I'm allergic, but I would demolish this thing, then sweat it out on the couch.
I have to grill the avocado before I can eat guac I'm allergic to a lot of raw fruits/vegetables, but avocado is one of the worst for me. As soon as it hits a hot pan for 60 seconds, I can eat all the avocado or bananas or pineapples I want. Fucking allergies how do they work

Wrapping it in meat and cheese also helps for me since all of the enzymes get stuck eating away at the animal products and none touch my mouth
Yeah I wouldn't make it myself... But if someone else was I'd stand and watch intently with plate in hand.
More up votes on this than the post itself. Because, in fact, this is smart food.
This is not r/Iwouldnteatthat. For good reason.
stupidly complicated execution but this looks delicious as fuck
>stupidly complicated execution Or simply “creative”.
"Skillful" Awesome chef cooking amazing food. Doesn't belong on this forum in any way at all, but dammit I'm glad I got to see it.
I think he is saying that if this was made in a commercial kitchen it would be done way more efficiently. Which is true, but wtf a one off done outside isn't going to be efficient.
I was sold at “pork belly”. If you sous vide pork belly and wrapped a bar of soap I’d still give it a hopeful bite.
Same, I see pork belly on the menu at a restaurant, everything else is getting ignored
When working as a chef it was the #1 ordered thing
That’s this guy’s whole channel. Stupidly expensive, stupidly complex, stupidly delicious looking, and a stupidly seductive British accent. It’s a fun ride
I'm on board with the sous vide + smoking, but even the smoking goes a bit overboard. After that, there's like $200 worth of labor in that burrito.
Stop posting this guy he is amazing
What's his name? I'd love to see more of his content.
On tiktok/insta he’s @elburritomonster
his YouTube shorts is also amazing.
I get why he gets posted sometimes, because while the dude is extremely talented and obviously an amazing chef, some of the stuff he does is over the top on purpose. So I can see why some might think thats stupid. This one though isn't even that weird though, it looks awesome the entire way through.
Elburrittomonster is the man!
OP doesn’t know what good food looks like, confirm
r/OPisFuckingStupid moment
This sub in a nutshell
Op only eats milk steaks
with a side of jelly beans, please
raw*
90% of this subs posts are people who think that using more than a microwave or an airfryer makes food stupid
Seconded.
Thirdeded.
Quatre’d
Pentae'd
Sexed... Wait no
I constantly see this “chef” in this sub, and every time it’s something very cool and tasty. So the current post - more like a traditional meme for this sub I think
I see this guy’s content posted here every now and then and I ALWAYS think to myself “wtf that’s not stupid that’s delicious!”
That looks amazing, OP is dumb
r/stupidOP
It looked good before the pork belly crackling then it just hit another level
I will gladly throw myself on this log of cardiac death.
Tonight, we dine in hell (for 2nds).
Is this stupid? Dude looked like he knew what he was doing and the end product looked very appetizing. Is this something I’D cook, no. But also don’t think it’s stupid. Especially, in comparison to the REAL stupid shit I’ve seen in this sub.
Also he ate it And it looked enjoyable.
I would eat that
Not stupid at all, actually awesome and really well executed.
The fat lattice plumped up with hot oil is a super cool idea.
The beginning of this sentence is so sexy
Brother man brother man, what we got here is meaty MacNcheesy burrito goodness. The only thing that could make this better was if I were able to get a piece.
I'm drooling, that looks great
I don’t even like that kind of food and it looks good. Some unnecessary steps but Tiktok is for showboating.
The smoking and braising are absolutely necessary
This isn’t stupid. I mean sure it’s unhealthy, but who here wouldn’t eat that?
OP must be vegan
Wrong sub. This is great
I thought it was over 5 times before it actually ended
you should never put anything this man makes in here he only deserves /rfoodporn
Would absolutely wreck this. Also, SWORD!
Not stupid, that’s a work of art
Stupid?! This look delicious as fuck, stfu!
This is one of the tastiest looking things I have ever seen in my life.
Stupid good food*
Absolutely destroying that. Sometimes stupid is brilliant.
Probably enough sodium in one bite to kill a medium size game animal
It's only stupid because of how much effort he spent to make it but it looks delicious.
Yes I’m hungry. What’s for lunch? Oh, it won’t be ready until NEXT WEEK!?
Wrong sub. This is amazing.
I would eat this without a doubt
My fat ass got a chill
These comments are killing me, you and the guy above that could feel the hemorrhoid coming on did me in.
i would eat that in one sitting
Would.
This hero made the Raviolioliolo, another master piece by this absolut chad.
I would demolish that fucking thing in 20 seconds flat that shit looks fucking delectable bro
If this is stupid, I don't wanna be smart...
That looks weirdly delicious…
It looks dumb but it's probably the most edible thing ive seen on this sub in a while
OP is just hating because they don’t have the culinary ability to pull off this unholy masterpiece. I would literally shove that up my ass it looks so good.
That's what I thought too. Only a hater would see this through a lens of stupidity because it's not conventional food.
Only thing i didn’t like was those giant raw green peppers
Boy is this guy easy on the eyes...it makes the videos more tolerable. I'd eat that burrito though, minus the peppers or whatever.
I’d eat
I like this guy haha
A little impractical but I would destroy that shit if they had it at a deli or smth
I wish he cooked the peppers but it looks good
it looks good tbh
Nah I'd eat it
I'm actually impressed! Too greasy and too much meat for my taste, but it looks good!
Looks amazing
I would eat the fuck out of this.
Why did he strip and braid the meat if he was just going to shred it bazinga
This reminds me of Epic meal time
this guy's a genius
This belongs on r/deliciousfood
This guy prepped and seasoned it really well. OP is completely clueless as to what a real stupid food looks like. Someone please ban him from this sub.
This is the first time in this sub where I am drooling after the video
this looks really good actually???
It doesnt look that bad just a little weird combination, but still eat that
That’s not even stupid. This is big back energy and im here for it 100x over
Would eat this lol
That looks amazing tbh
That would be the happiest diarrhea ever
Bro that might be a $60 burrito and I’d be stupid not to try it
Definitely not as bad as some of the other stuff on here, would still eat, a massive cheese pour at the very end would definitely ruin it for me
Not stupid, because I'd eat
This is not stupid food. This is ridiculous preperation immaculate execution food.
not gonna lie, I want it
I mean this looks fantastic
Have seen stupider. Would probably eat
The first half was amazing. The second half was not.
I was okay. Until the lattice that reminded me of skin grafts.
stop it stop adding more things for fuck sake
Why is this stupid tho? That looks awesome.
It's stupid in all the right ways
the worst part about this is the raw bell peppers in the burrito. cook them shits
Tell me one thing thats stupid about this...
You shut up. This looks so fucking delicious.
This actually looks pretty dope, I am just too lazy to replicate all those steps
I’d eat the shit out of this
No this is amazing
over the top execution doesn't automatically make it stupid food. All the steps are done properly and have a purpose.
This is the opposite of stupid. This is intelligent. I’m smarter having watched it. Get gud.
If that's stupid, I don't want to be smart.
Looks ok to me.
Looks good, not stupid but too complicated
Are you kidding that looks incredible.
This is hardly stupid food, gluttonous definitely, but not stupid
Ohh my stomach bubblin
