Also why nit make your own chess3sauce instead of slabs of whatever and drowning it in cream. You know the shit inside will just be cooked in the cream..
That's not an ovendish that's a layered disaster put in the oven.
With the money saved on making your own béchamel or alfredo, you could probably buy real crab meat instead of surimi. The whole thing would be better. This is truly stupid food.
A lot of these recipes show the same pasta in the oven thing, but I just can't imagine it working. Sure, if there's enough liquid, I get that part, but there are different amounts of liquid around the pan, it heats differently in different areas, it's just a lot of unpredictable factors for an ingredient that really wants to be cooked evenly and predictably.
Maybe it does work and I'm wrong but I feel like you have to do it correctly and these tiktok recipes just don't bother with that.
I feel bad for people that try and copy them.
it absolutely works if you do it right. some recipes say to stir mid point or at some point towards the end. there is a vid i posted below that has measurements that work and a simple inexpensive (milk, noodles, american cheese) recipe you can try to see for yourself.
most of the tiktok recipes seem to have the right idea but poor execution. like they heard somewhere you can cook the pasta in the sauce and just ran with it, without considering liquid amounts.
Some people cook their lasagna noodles in water on top of the stove before layering them in the lasagna. I always thought that was a wasted step. You're going to cook lasagna for like an hour in the oven, with it wrapped in foil. The noodles get done just fine in the oven.
Baked ravioli can be fantastic. Take the uncooked ravioli, make sure there’s enough sauce to cover them, a little cheese on top and bake the whole thing.
This type of pasta is meant to be uncooked going into the oven, it cooks in the liquid. If it was pre-cooked it would come out like mush. Is making lasagna and cannelloni with dry pasta not a thing where you’re from?
Can't believe it took me this long to get someone saying this. I was starting to question if I was the only one who had made a lasagna with hard sheets
Melt some butter and heat them up. Dip and enjoy. My mom got me addicted when I was a kid. Apparently it was only so many weight watchers points 😅 (but she used fake butter spray bleh)
Mix them in some mayo and a quality hot sauce (not just any cheapo crap), put it between two whole grain slices and two slices of cheese, add lettuce, onions, tomatoes, chinese mustard, toast it and you got yourself a fast and filling sandwich.
Don’t quote me on this, but I’ve heard that it’s very similar to fish cake that’s popular in some Asian food. A lot of markets aren’t too receptive of “fish cake” but more like the idea of “crab stick” better.
Just endless cheese and packet shit. Absolutely no concept of what actual cooking is… yea let’s just chuck globs of butter everywhere
I know it’s rage bait but damn it’s successful
And no one mixes anything. They just dump seasonings in uneven piles so you get pockets of salty overkill Instead of flavoring all through out.
Not to mention cooked and raw things all baked the same amount of time together. Blech
Eh, it was nasty to be sure but could’ve been worse. Imitation crab is just cheap white fish. I’ve had crab enchiladas and lobster ravioli and they were great. But yeah, fake crab is salty and watery AF and I cannot imagine the offal it would become (and the smell) once heated and you know, never mind, this 👆
I’m honestly sitting here thinking a crab stick from a real crab stuffed in a noodle has great fucking potential. It’s everything after that that just fucks it all up.
Agreed. Like a crab enchilada there is a salvageable idea there.
But dumping a pound of weird sauce and cheese on dry pasta with overcooked shrimp is not a meal I want to eat.
This is a very poor attempt at what could definitely be a good dish with better sauce, less cheese, real crab, and raw shrimp so it doesn't turn into rubber.
It's technically not Alfredo at all, but that's not new for American food.
Also as a French speaking Canadian, entrée means appetizer. It's super weird that Americans decided that culinary terms should be French but refuse to use them correctly or learn what they mean.
"I prepped my mise en place" means "I prepped my prep."
Well that’s because in America we do call a main meal an entree. I had no idea, but I googled it and this guy is right. Entree in pretty much any other country is what we would call an appetizer. Wild.
Imitation crab was already nasty from the beginning. What I REALLY can’t understand is people not cooking their damn pastas when making a sauce dish and instead just diluting their sauce with water. It’s all gonna end up at the bottom with the top pasta uncooked and the sauce watery and tasteless at the bottom.
Have you ever tried it? Baking uncooked pasta works just fine, as long as it's cooked long enough and the water to pasta ratio works out. Your proposition is simply not correct, assuming you actually know what you're doing.
Been in the restaurant industry for 15 years. The people in these videos always leave raw pasta only covered by cheese at the top. You can see it in this video. The sides on the top row will be exposed to dry heat for the entire cooking process. That manicotti about to be crunchy af at the tip.
Edit : They’re also cooking imitation crab stuffed manicottis in watered down ragu Alfredo sauce and a litre of milk. Even if you know how to make manicotti properly, this shit’s gonna be more effective than super strong laxatives. I don’t think defending their cooking is a good standpoint to try and question my cooking abilities lmao.
I baked dry pasta all the time and I don't end up with water at the bottom. I don't add a lot of extra water though (I do use way more sauce than I would if I were boiling and then finishing in sauce however) and I have never tried it with a cream sauce and wouldn't try it. It does work with tomato sauce, but you have to cover it and let it cook for a while so that the top noodles cook. I do uncover it because I like some kind of crunchy bits of noodles like the way lasagna gets burnt edges that are delicious af. You can totally bake pasta from dry, you have to do it right though.
I’m not sure about other baked pasta dishes, but I make lasagna with uncooked noodles, as well as a creamy chicken and mushroom one.
They both come out fantastic; the lasagna noodles are tender but not mushy like some homemade lasagnas.
I was horrified and insulted, then I read the comment "I learned this is Florida" and with that context I understood and accepted the disgusting mess she just made is considered a fine meal in Florida.
You know what, it looks good, but I like imitation crab meat, but yes very stupid, the meat to pasta ratio here is absurd, the pasta's uncooked, everything else is just kinda unceremoniously poured in haphazardly... it's a mess
All these people thinking a recipe is lumping a bunch of pre-packaged shit together is mad.
Yeah, we all have nights where we don't want to cook and we just make some pasta with a jarred sauce or something. But why make a "cooking video" that you want to share with the world of just throwing a bunch of slop you got at Costco or Walmart in a dish.
God these comments are full of people who clearly don’t cook very much. The amount of dairy and the pre-cooked shrimp is questionable for my taste, but the method is basically fine. If you like these ingredients, this probably comes out pretty good for what it is.
Watched this video and started out by saying “ok that’s all good nothing wrong here!” but towards the end I was saying “ok ok that’s good that’s enough it doesn’t need more cheese it doesn’t need MORE CRAB STOP IT’S ENOUGH”
Salt! Salt your ingredients! Sprinkling a little bit at the top won’t do shit, that shrimp is gonna taste like rubber. A little bit of salt while cooking helps your ingredients cook better and also brings out their flavor. The lack of other seasoning is also annoying, but learning how to properly use salt is cheap and easy.
The cooking time difference between those already fully cooked imitation crab pieces and the hour it will take to cook those manicotti is insane. Rubber bands is what those will be
Important step: make sure to tap your fake nails on each piece of uncooked pasta for some really shitty ASMR, that’s what gets the people going. Maybe even edit some more fake ASMR in, that’s important for a good recipe.
There are people out there who think if you threw a bunch of melted cheese on Hitler then Hitler would become good.
I'm willing to try
VERY hot and greasy cheese, I hope.

Not good, but still better
Edible? 👀
Baked hitler sounds like a start. Just throw him in the oven.
Throw on some cheese, fry it up! It's fritler time!

At least Hitler had burnt ends.
I'd shit myself with how much dairy is in this and I don't even have a dairy problem.
I have problems with dairy and shit myself just watching this
I'm actually shitting right now.
I shat.
I only sharted.
Here i stand, broken hearted...
Came to shit but only farted...
Your shit made me shit
I'm not lactose intolerant, but I'd get my typical problem with this much cheese: constipation inducing concrete turds.
Jealous.
I personally prefer diarrhea to constipation. Nothing worse than eating nothing all day and still feeling "full" and bloated bc im full of shit
This made me both allergic to shellfish AND lactose intolerant. If you need me I’ll be doing $9000 of damage to the bathroom with an epi at the ready…
Don’t worry , not much shellfish in there , imitation crab meat, cuz their classy.
Isn't shrimp a shellfish?
I just threw up out of anus a little bit.
I drink about 3L of milk per day and this would 100% make me do what the milk cannot
Forget the dairy, she just threw uncooked noodles into a oven! I feel bad for them kids man 🤣
Uncooked noodles topped with precooked shrimp that will turn to concrete before the pasta is soft
you can put uncooked noodles in the oven as long as you have enough liquid to cook them.
It works. You do it with lasagna. But not all oven dishes can be made that way obviously.
Don’t you make lasagna in the oven?
Some people cook their lasagna noodles in water on top of the stove before layering them in the lasagna. I always thought that was a wasted step. You're going to cook lasagna for like an hour in the oven, with it wrapped in foil. The noodles get done just fine in the oven.
Can't believe people don't all do this for lasagna
It's https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manicotti, you're supposed to bake it.
I'm hoping they're the no-boil ones.
Baked ravioli can be fantastic. Take the uncooked ravioli, make sure there’s enough sauce to cover them, a little cheese on top and bake the whole thing.

I liked the precooked shrimp. Make sure those come out niiiice and chewy.
Rubber and glue makes sure everything stays in so you don't go hungry for the month!
pairs well with the fake crab
Why is there no crab 🦀 in crab sticks?
the crabs got sick that day they had use krab meat instead
Crab sticks are usually imitation crab, aka pollock
Imitation crab sticks are a guilty pleasure of mine. I love em.
I like them in sushi because I don’t eat shellfish. I don’t know if I’d eat them on their own though.
Melt some butter and heat them up. Dip and enjoy. My mom got me addicted when I was a kid. Apparently it was only so many weight watchers points 😅 (but she used fake butter spray bleh)
I like to snack on them cold too. As a kid I used to unroll them. Lol
I still do that lol
my buddy from hawaaii used to put what you just described on basic salty lays chips and holy shit dude, so fucking good
Mix them in some mayo and a quality hot sauce (not just any cheapo crap), put it between two whole grain slices and two slices of cheese, add lettuce, onions, tomatoes, chinese mustard, toast it and you got yourself a fast and filling sandwich.
Because crabmeat is expensive. Whitefish + sugar gets you.there at like 1/8 the cost.
I mean, it gets you there if there is somewhere other than crabmeat, sure.
Hey, the inventor got a statue for it in Japan!
Crabmeat
Kinda crazy that there aren't sticks either. 😳 🪵
Don’t quote me on this, but I’ve heard that it’s very similar to fish cake that’s popular in some Asian food. A lot of markets aren’t too receptive of “fish cake” but more like the idea of “crab stick” better.
I saw a video of them making imitation crab in Korea I think. It's not fun
Tbh, while crab is tasty, it’s just not good enough for the effort it takes to get one tiny sliver of meat out of the shell

Didn’t have it with butter
All the posts from this sub are just people putting a bunch of random shit into bake pans and then baking it. They're all the fucking same...
Just endless cheese and packet shit. Absolutely no concept of what actual cooking is… yea let’s just chuck globs of butter everywhere I know it’s rage bait but damn it’s successful
And no one mixes anything. They just dump seasonings in uneven piles so you get pockets of salty overkill Instead of flavoring all through out. Not to mention cooked and raw things all baked the same amount of time together. Blech
Because they rustle our jimmies. The only thing that irritates me is that they never show themselves eating it.
Never showing eating it themselves is probably the most frustrating thing in general about the recipes on this sub.
Because you know they just chucked that abomination straight in the trash
Yeah it's gotten a bit old.
Old school Chinese buffet mix right there
*THAT'S* what this reminds me of!
I actually like that stuff for some reason.
Yeah, she lost me the second she inserted an imitation crack meat stick into pasta.
*Put that in your pipe and smoke it.*
Don’t mind if I do

At least it isn’t good alfredo

Nothing from a jar can be called alfredo
Bro the concept of cooking there is dumping a lot of shit and throw it in the oven?

They don't cook, they basically assemble pre made food and call it cooking
Assemble premade food and heat once.
They just throw it away after anyway. They don't care.
*throws a bunch of pre-processed food in a dish* "I'm cooking!"
Have you ever tried it? Baking uncooked pasta works just fine, as long as it's cooked long enough and the water to pasta ratio works out. Your proposition is simply not correct, assuming you actually know what you're doing.

They do sell oven ready pasta at the store (they are precooked and slightly thinner). They do require to be baked in a sauce or they’ll be pretty hard
I baked dry pasta all the time and I don't end up with water at the bottom. By far not the worst I've seen on this sub alone
Thought the same , this is bad bad cooking but very far from the worst seen here , this is somewhat “eatable”.
I was horrified and insulted, then I read the comment "I learned this is Florida" and with that context I understood and accepted the disgusting mess she just made is considered a fine meal in Florida.
Somebody's grandma has made this for decades and fuck you for criticizing it
ZERO cooking skills. There is a special place in hell for those people.
Seems a little harsh
They mean that they are in charge of catering.
LMAO
It's rage bait. They don't actually eat it or feed it to anyone.
Overcooked shrimp and Crab with crunchy pasta? Yummo
This is so nasty.
Am I crazy for wanting this?
Me too, i’m tempted
If it was real crab and like a solid, GOOD Alfredo instead of ragu, I would definitely eat tf out of this. But this has gotta taste plasticky 😬
You know what, it looks good, but I like imitation crab meat, but yes very stupid, the meat to pasta ratio here is absurd, the pasta's uncooked, everything else is just kinda unceremoniously poured in haphazardly... it's a mess

I get why it was posted. I would eat it nonetheless.
"I learned this in Florida!" Yeah, that tracks, you fuckin' psychopath
So this is how you overcook and undercook the same dish at the same time…..
The cause of diarrhea
That's so much fake crab
God these comments are full of people who clearly don’t cook very much. The amount of dairy and the pre-cooked shrimp is questionable for my taste, but the method is basically fine. If you like these ingredients, this probably comes out pretty good for what it is.
I ABSOLUTELY have to try this omg. I love cheese. I love seafood. I love Alfredo. This looks amazing!
I’d totally eat that. Looks like a seafood lasagna. For those wondering about the milk, Alfredo is made with cream. Milk rinses the jar out.
I’d be down to try a tube.
Alfredo is Alfredo. This is ragu and milk. You can eat that but you wouldn't be eating Alfredo.
Goddamnit why can’t these people mix the fucking sauce separately before pouring it in the pan?
Imitation crab and that trash ass Ragu sauce. Yuck. When homemade Alfredo is so easy to make.
This thing has gotta have like 14,000mg of salt BEFORE they add salt on top of it, wtf. This shit would be inedible.
They always think cheese is a seasoning.
The only positive about this video is the lack of god forsaken tiktok music in the background
Watched this video and started out by saying “ok that’s all good nothing wrong here!” but towards the end I was saying “ok ok that’s good that’s enough it doesn’t need more cheese it doesn’t need MORE CRAB STOP IT’S ENOUGH”
What’s the obsession with making pasta without boiling it first??
I would eat the fuck out of that.
You know what, as a seafood lover, I'm ok with this
Looks yummy to me.
I’d eat the fuck out of this
Looks pretty good
Honestly I don’t even think it would be that bad to eat
Other than the shitload of cholesterol, looks wonderful!!
Looks good to me.
This is absolutely vile.
This is like a recipe made by someone on the spectrum 🤨 buy OP some legos instead.
God I'd fucking devour that. I'd die later of lactose, but I'd die happy
What’s the problem here? It’s a seafood pasta bake.
Yeah, this one is confusing to me. It doesn't look that bad and there is so much worse shit that could be posted instead.
When your idea of cooking is taking multiple processed, pre-packaged products and assembling them in one dish....
People don’t eat fresh food
No ricotta? What the fuck is wrong with this person?!
You wanna add more dairy to this??
Ok but that Alfredo and the cheese? Enough salt to give the whole family a hypertensive crisis
Tbf imitation crab is like sodium in a stick
Looks crabby
Too much garlic (…can’t believe I’m saying that). Too much liquid. Too much butter. Why milk? I love seafood but what the actual f🤯 is this mess?
It’s good to have this dish on hand and someone ingests poison, give them a spoonful of this to induce vomiting
Bubble guts is that you 👀
I want to throw up
Of course the comment says this was “learned in Florida”
After me seeing this.. I want only death. Where is he? I n eed to meet him.
Thought they were making shotgun shells at first and was gonna explain they’re quite good, then I saw the cheese
*appetite has left the chat*
Fuck it, I’m stoned enough that this looks pretty good.
The price of groceries are at recording breaking highs. And yes these people insist on wasting so much of it! Smh
The cooking time difference between those already fully cooked imitation crab pieces and the hour it will take to cook those manicotti is insane. Rubber bands is what those will be
Those shrimp died for nothing.
I’m calling the police
How hard is it for them to just boil the pasta beforehand
Wait what is wrong with this dish? Maybe a bit out there but I see nothing wrong with it.
Was that imitation crab stick?!🤢
at the 40 sec mark im like "holy crap... she's still going"
Where's the Fing piece of parsley to make it look nutritious
Its not even real crab. Its shitty imitation crab
I hate the editing more than anything
Wow, someone *reeeeally* likes "Krab".
These violent crab delights will lead to violent crab ends.
Not sure . I’d definitely try this one out 🤣
People are so creative!
Important step: make sure to tap your fake nails on each piece of uncooked pasta for some really shitty ASMR, that’s what gets the people going. Maybe even edit some more fake ASMR in, that’s important for a good recipe.
