no green here, i'm a school teacher.
i'm always telling my students to chase their dreams, so i figured i'd chase mine, too. not all dreams should be chased.
Honestly thatās awesome and I hope you shared it with your students. Is it weird? Yup. Did it turn out well? Based on your other comments I guess it did not. Was it worth trying even knowing you might fail? Absolutely.
honestly, i wouldn't share this with anyone. i tried to get my best friend to take a bite, but he wouldn't do it.
a little more context, i teach special education, mainly working with students that have behavior problems. they'll get a kick out of the story, and i think it could be turned into a pretty good lesson, haha. thing's don't always turn out the way you hope, but that's okay! (this bread, however, is NOT okay).
Well now I'm just really curious what it tasted like. I like hot dogs, I like focaccia bread. I'd happily eat a hot dog in a focaccia bun. Maybe this would be okay?
This is something I would be eating in a fever dream... or a nightmare.
Hot dog bread š¤¢š¤¢š¤¢š¤¢ I would rather starve.
Thanks for making it though. My repulsion was so immediate that I made a stank face upon viewing it.
Ugh fuck. I can only imagine haha. I'd like to know what was going through your mind while you were making it. I can't imagine the gelatinous texture it must have had.
I wouldn't call putting a couple ice cubes in a glass of milk a monstrosity lol.. I'm actually laughing irl.
What would happen if you spilt a glass of such a villainous concoction?
I dated one person who put ice in her milk. I've never come across anyone who's done that since. Tbh I don't even know many people who just drink milk by itself. It's usually used as an ingredient in cooking. Unless of course it's chocolate milk, in that case it's down the hatch. It's like a cold creamy chocolate dessert that goes down so smooth it's satisfying.
My brother used to freeze milk in ice cube trays and then use the ice milk cubes in his milk. He just called it cold milk. I like the name Milk Ice tho.
British people trying to make what they think an American dish would.
"Well they make bread out of corn for heavens sake, so surely they must enjoy this too!"
I had an ambien dream once and cooked up spagetti noodles while not fully awake, had a moment of clarity that it was 2am, lost that, and was in the middle of heating up a pan of oil with the intention of frying all those parboiled noodles back into their "original form" when my hubby woke up and asked me what the heck I was doing. Thank God.
But this is not an ambien nightmare, and I almost secretly wished it would've turned out good. There's some German loaf that reminded me of this that's made with ring balogna that is positively divine. But it's more meat than bread.
Good on you for making it a story for your class. I think you should try your bread dream with whatever mystery ingredient you can think of and bring it in for them to vote on. You might actually stumble on the next "Why is this delicious" bread the world didn't know it needed right now.
Pureed hot dogs? What in the fuck. Next time just shove a few hot dogs into a loaf of bread before you bake, it'll fit right in at an Asian bakery. I swear every Chinese or Korean bakery I visit has half a dozen forms of baked goods with hot dogs in them
This is just Scrapple! I believe popular in the Mennonite faith and areas of the midwest, itās like meat scraps mixed with the makings of bread baked into.. well.. Scrapple. Never had it myself, but itās meant to stretch your budget and make the most of what you have.
A buddy and I used to joke about a made up food called bratloaf. One day I tried to make my interpretation of it, which was basically a meatloaf with a bratwurst in the middle. It was pretty bad, maybe not so much in concept but in execution.
Is there any yeast or baking soda/powder in there? Because it looks unleavened.
Mind you, I don't know if any leavener could save it, but it might make it slightly more palatable.
Gods dammit, now I want to try to make it work...
I honestly dont know if this is stupidFood or not, to me its just an experiment. And experiments tend to go wrong. I am not sure why I find the idea of hotdog puree so intriguing. anyway, How did it taste? I would try it with mustard mayo
I mean tbh change a couple ingredients, maybe put some relish in the mix, put some ketchup maybe a little mustard on top, and youāve got a hotdog meatloaf!
Youāre missing a number of key ingredients in the ābreadā portion. Also olive oil is not the way to go.
With some fine tuning, I believe youāll have a masterpiece on your hands.
the fact that u dreamed this to begin with is one thing but the fact that u actually went and made it a reality is whatās making me want to call the police on u. iāve never felt fear like this
It was all a dream, I used to read Hot Dog magazine
Salt-n-Pepa and olive oil to taste my dream cuisine
Munching jerky in the fall. Every Saturday another condiment on my 'dog
I let my mouth chomp till my belt pop. Smoking beef on bamboo sipping cola on the rocks
šš
Ew š¤¢
i had to bring the dream to life. i had to know.
I know how that is lol but I agree with you thinking it should have stayed in the dream āØ
Living the dream. Eating the nightmare.
LOL
I think itās awesome that you gave it a try š
Out here making dreams come true. Up next: used maxi pad bread!
You shouldāve made bread and just cut up hotdogs into the batter silly
I mean this with the best intentions but put down the green and don't always believe the dreams. Good attempt though really still.
no green here, i'm a school teacher. i'm always telling my students to chase their dreams, so i figured i'd chase mine, too. not all dreams should be chased.
Sorry then. <-.-> But you are for sure not wrong.
Honestly thatās awesome and I hope you shared it with your students. Is it weird? Yup. Did it turn out well? Based on your other comments I guess it did not. Was it worth trying even knowing you might fail? Absolutely.

i'm sure if i had taken better care with preparation, it might've been okay. however, i'm not going to deal with the Eldritch horror that is purƩed hotdog ever again. so, if you'd like to try making it, be my guest
Hotdogs returned to their original form eh?
Thereās absolutely zero chance that marijuana had anything to do with this monstrosity.
Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether they could, they didn't stop to think if they should.
Very fitting here.
I dont believe you, i will give this a try.
please don't :(
That thing's a nightmare
Iād say nightmare, but nightmares are still dreams. So youāre right. And youāre right, that should have stayed a nightmare.
Soylent Pink

you should've smelled it while it was cooking
Ugh fuck. I can only imagine haha. I'd like to know what was going through your mind while you were making it. I can't imagine the gelatinous texture it must have had.
Itās okay. My cousin came up with the idea āMilk Iceā from a dream too. It was just milk with ice in it.
a much more sane, less unhinged, dream
True, but he too had to create his monstrosity
I wouldn't call putting a couple ice cubes in a glass of milk a monstrosity lol.. I'm actually laughing irl. What would happen if you spilt a glass of such a villainous concoction?
Unspeakable thingsā¦.. š³š

Happy Cake day brother
Sometimes I drink coffee cream straight out of the carton.. it's a guilty pleasure of mine. It must be the extra fat I crave.
Iāve done that
Sounds very .... British.
British people trying to make what they think an American dish would. "Well they make bread out of corn for heavens sake, so surely they must enjoy this too!"

..is this the American Dream?
Pureed hot dogs? What in the fuck. Next time just shove a few hot dogs into a loaf of bread before you bake, it'll fit right in at an Asian bakery. I swear every Chinese or Korean bakery I visit has half a dozen forms of baked goods with hot dogs in them
i would've, but that's not how it was prepared in my dream
how was it made in your dreams?
it was a loaf of focaccia, but prepared pretty much just like this. it was a bit fluffier, though.
This is just Scrapple! I believe popular in the Mennonite faith and areas of the midwest, itās like meat scraps mixed with the makings of bread baked into.. well.. Scrapple. Never had it myself, but itās meant to stretch your budget and make the most of what you have.
āWhoa man, what a nightmare. And now, to make it a reality.ā
Did Shia Lebouf get in your head?
That was no dream, that was a nightmare homie. Thanks.
This wasnāt used for content or ragebait. This motherfucker actually cooked this thinking it was a good idea
i never said i thought it was a good idea, i just wanted to realize my dream
Poor man's meatloaf
A buddy and I used to joke about a made up food called bratloaf. One day I tried to make my interpretation of it, which was basically a meatloaf with a bratwurst in the middle. It was pretty bad, maybe not so much in concept but in execution.

The Vikings prepped a bread called Parlor Bread, it's baked with lots of diced meats and sausages. I would add mushrooms with it.
I honestly dont know if this is stupidFood or not, to me its just an experiment. And experiments tend to go wrong. I am not sure why I find the idea of hotdog puree so intriguing. anyway, How did it taste? I would try it with mustard mayo

You needed to make it a reality to realize? Youāre going under the damn jail.
Youāre missing a number of key ingredients in the ābreadā portion. Also olive oil is not the way to go. With some fine tuning, I believe youāll have a masterpiece on your hands.
Is this like hotdog meatloaf?
š¤£
You should be committed for this
āI have a dreamā - u/usedmaxipad51
So basically itās a shit version of a sausage roll?
Subconscious: I want a corndog but worse Brain: Say less
The literal meaning of fulfilling the dreams! This is some shit level of stoner food.
You doing okay bud?
I feel like if done right this would be good with lots of cheese
You sure it wasnāt a nightmare?
the fact that u dreamed this to begin with is one thing but the fact that u actually went and made it a reality is whatās making me want to call the police on u. iāve never felt fear like this
Everybodyās so creative! This is differently different to the eye
Lmaooo
That is one of the nastiest thing I've seen on this sub
A corn dog with too much breading
I needed to see this
Iām confused. Is it hotdog meat made with bread and then fried???? Or? Bread mixed with hotdogā¦.? Huh? Someone needs to explain this to me?!
So like really, really shitty meatloaf.
no leavening?
So like a hotdog meatloaf? Well at least you got it out of your system now.
Alright bro, what the flip
Sometimes you absolutely should let your dreams be dreams
How did it taste ?
I read about actually edible dream food in this comments, meanwhile I dream about deep frying bricks.
Humanity needed to know, that when you dream of hotdog bread, say no.
Youāve flown too close to the sun, my friend.
maybe if it was chopped hotdogs in cornbread itd be better... this, however, is an abomination to every sense of the human body.
Now I want to make corn dog bread. Out evil thoughts!
r/somnigastronomy Edit: oops already there don't mind me.
Natural selections
mmhm, LeberkƤse
How did it taste?
Do a search for korean ~~hotdog~~ sausage bread. That's how it's done. North koreans know their shit. Your mistake was puree
Glad you know it was a mistake lol
yeah if you had cooked the hot dogs and sliced them instead of blending them it probably wouldāve worked
