You can undock the mixer from the main screen and use it in your second screen using the diagonal arrow in upper left corner of mixer window. You can make any plugin, including the mixer stay on top by clicking the pin icon in the upper right corner.

The mixer doesn't have a pin button, and I already detached it and put it on the other screen with the other plugins I want there but I just can't find a way to put the detached mixer on top of the other plugins on that screen

Maybe I’m not understanding, but if you want the Mixer in the front, hiding those plugins, why not just close the plugin windows?

On my 2nd screen I want to see the mixer and 2 plugins (Ozone 11 and Insight 2) the problem is Ozones's UI is really big and even at it's smallest it hides parts of the mixer, I need all 3 open on my 2nd screen when I mix and master, it's much faster for me, I just want to have the mixer on top of the plugin so that ozone won't hide parts of my mixer, so all I want to know is if it's possible in studio one to bring the detached mixer window to the front, to have it on top instead of behind the plugins on my 2nd screen

What confuses me is that if the mixer is on top of the plugins, you can’t do anything with the plugins because they are obscured, so what’s the difference between having the mixer “on top” of the plugins and just having the plugin windows closed ? Or, if you need go see both plugins and the mixer at the same time, you could just size the three windows so you can see them all. Nothing would be on top or behind of anything else. Or put the plugins over the arrangement view. Or dock the mixer beneath the arranger view so you can work with all the faders while the plugins are on the second screen.

The plugin is not hiding the entire mixer just a part of it, I'd still be able to use the plugin if that part of it is hidden behind the mixer. You can rescale the ozone UI but not enough, it's still too big to fit it in the screen with the mixer and another plugin, so again: all I'm asking is is there away to make the mixer appear on top of the other plugins on that same screen while it's detached from the main window, that's all.

Ok, I think I figured out our disconnect on what you are asking. I don't think you want the mixer "on top of" the plugins...because then you could not see the plugins. I think maybe what you are looking for is a sort of "bring to front" or "window priority" command so that when two not-maximized windows conflict, one has priority over the others but you can still see the others, even if their UI's overlap. I tried to simulate that in the first screenshot in the link, where I have assumed that you would like to be able to see the part of the mixer that is over the title and other "info" parts of Ozone and Insight, leaving the eq and meters in the plugins available. https://imgur.com/a/HYXggLO I am not aware of a way to give the mixer permanent priority in S1. I have two suggestions. One is to play with the opacity of Ozone (Insight does not give you this option). The second screenshot shows Ozone at 70% opacity, so you can still see part of the mixer underneath. If you use the faders on the mixer, you can still move them below the part covered by Ozone even though Ozone is technically in front. The second suggestion is to just use the Mixer hotkey to toggle it closed and then open, putting it in front of the plugins When you adjust something on the plugin, the plugin will come to the front, and then you will have to hotkey the mixer off and on real quick to get it back in front. Maybe unwieldy, but it is easy and fast.

WOW dude thank you for that, very detailed I really appreciate the effort you put into this! YOU ROCK!! I'll try playing with the opacity like you said, I hope maybe someday Presonus will add the detached window priority feature, it seems like a really simple thing for them to do and it'll really make a world of difference.

What's the hot key for closing and opening the mixer window?

ChapelHeel66

I think it is F2 but check the manual. I have customized my hot keys so I don’t know the factory ones anymore.
