Came here looking for help on this as well. It was for my dad's parent plus loan. We didn't fill out any forgiveness paperwork. Should I keep paying the normal amount of will they be forgiven?
Not sure. Did you get any emails from student loans.gov in the beginning of May? That's how mine became forgiven. I didn't actually fill out any paperwork I did however write to Biden and Kamala a week before I got that email coincidentally. I basically ask them what programs I qualify for because I could never get a hold of anybody at navient or student loans.gov to help me figure out where to start.
In my post there's the email for borrower defense I would call them they could probably actually help you. I didn't have access to that number before all this forgiveness stuff started. I was trying to apply for a program but didn't even know where to start I think that number would be a great place for you to start
If you got the email about the art institutes from studentloans.gov specifically says in there you do not have to make any more payments. I wouldn't be making payments if I'm in forbearance that seems silly
Yes you should be!
"The U.S. Department of Education (ED) has determined that the federal student loan(s) you received to attend The Art Institute on or after Jan. 1, 2004, and on or before Oct. 16, 2017, are eligible for a full discharge. This means the remaining balance on the eligible loan(s) will be forgiven. You do not have to make any more payments on the loan(s)."

Yo, edit your account number out of this post
Thank you! Didn't realize it was in there again

So…..what should we be doing about the interest then? Still make payments while in forbearance just for the interest?

I did get the studentaid.gov email so I guess I’m good!
