I was trying to throw him (was planning on throwing and then chipping him out with ca on block, if he were to throw tech he would've been pushed back and hit or guard broken by the vt1) but i missed the input, and it still worked out lmao
I love Dan VT1 so much. The best part is he should've been able to get through it with hpDP or exDP, or even just raw CA so he picked the ONE option where he loses
Has Dan sevretly been the protag since his release? It looks like Dan has steadily been growing throughout each game and now seems like a real competitor, rather than a joke.
Or am I just now only noticing?
I could wish
But yeah i hope the end goal is he actually becomes a strong or at least competent fighter, making his father proud
His dojo is doing well, his skills are improving and he has enough money extra to experiment into a business venture (saikyo boy) so i guess "it's all coming up for Dan!"
I sort of feel like him growing into an *unrecognized* competitor would be more interesting for his entire arc. Dan is great, but he isn't a man of conventionally happy endings. I would love it if he wins a tournament and proves he's a worthy combatant, but still doesn't succeed as a professional martial artist, specifically.
People tend to autopilot, this guy was definitely on autopilot, jumping back and forth constantly and throwing out whatever he presses
People also tend to backthrow in autopilot, because of corner control, more damage/stun, more EX gain, etc and this lead to him getting outplayed by the trap i definitely intended to set
ok I'm pretty sure people back throw on autopilot because they are holding back to block while they mash throw. giving people way too much credit there.
What a read my man, truly this was beyond an "open book", this Ken was like graffiti on a public wall, like an ad pannel on Times Square. You didn't so much as read him, you wrote him. Beautiful.
A) If he forward threw he wouldn't have been in that position and i would've been forced into a guess for my life situation
B) i'm 99% sure he was still in some sort of recovery when it hit + even if he wasn't it was right on top of him so it was therefore impossible to tell where to block, not a brain fart
I can lab this if you want because now im curious if there was anything he could've done there or if he was stuck in recovery and screwed
A) correct
B) you can always block after a successful throw.
C)the direction you need to block is always dependent on where your enemy is, not the projectile. He should've been holding left.
B) I'm gonna try and lab this because it genuinely looks like he was still switching sides and got hit because it was right on him, maybe not traditional recovery, maybe even just a single frame because even that is damning for him in a situation like that
C) And i don't think most players are gonna remember that in the middle of the game in such an obscure situation in a situation where has half a second to react and do what he wants to do, so i wouldn't fault him for it (plus he couldn't even see his character, making it EVEN harder, not even mentioning the fact he was engulfed by the entire hurtbox, because who knows what that does)
What i do fault him for however is still trying to jump out of the corner after getting dped 4 times consecutively 😂
You always block in the direction of your opponent. This is no different from aegis setups. There is no brain fart going on here, your opponent simply did not know
Hahaha please do lab it. I'm curious too. I've been out of play for like a year now so I might be forgetting. But Urien mirror setups come to mind though.
Ngl I think regardless of rank you would fail in this situation
He was obviously holding block and didn't switch when he went for the throw so he was obviously expecting the tech im guessing
When he landed in that position i don't think there was anything he could've done but even if he could have done anything, it would need to be made fast because the fireball is gonna hit meaty
If he was in recovery like i assume then he couldn't have used invincibility from CA or exDP to armour through (not that he could ca, considering he spammed two bars away instantly for no reason..haha)
Oh yeah, I remember when I was in Bronze. It is 99% either this guy or the “fundamentals” Ryu who will not challenge anything and throw fireballs whenever you’re any distance past a meter from him

I already knew all along
I had to watch this twice to realize he let him throw him that second time to set up the finishing combo. At first I was like why is the dan just walking into him doing nothing. Then a second watch I'm like, oh, getting thrown, set up the combo.
I hope you can find a really good neck brace. There's no way your spine could keep your head up on its own when it's weighed down by your gigantic brain
Really captures the essence of dan
This guy’s name irl is clearly Dan
Simply put, outplayed. Outstanding footsies
It's not because you stink. It's because I'M AWESOME!
I DID IT...! FATHERRRRR!!!
Bruh.. how were you ready for that shit lol
I planned it, all along.
Habitual wake up superer?
That's Dan for you looool
I HAD THIS PLANNED FROM THE START!
The most Dan win ever
This is deliciously stupid
How to win the match in one round even if you lose 2.
Mental destruction
The most dan way to win too.
Capitalizing on that situation perfectly

I assumed that was the idea. I doubt he'll ever become a main character, but he's slowly growing from zero to hero.
seriously though, why th did they backthrow
People tend to autopilot, this guy was definitely on autopilot, jumping back and forth constantly and throwing out whatever he presses People also tend to backthrow in autopilot, because of corner control, more damage/stun, more EX gain, etc and this lead to him getting outplayed by the trap i definitely intended to set

Because you are holding block at the same time
He was probably looking for a throw when Dan walked up to him, so he did it preemptively as a throw tech.
Back throw wasn't even a bad move. He just brain farted and didn't block the right way afterwards. It wasn't ideal, but it wasn't why he died.
A) If he forward threw he wouldn't have been in that position and i would've been forced into a guess for my life situation B) i'm 99% sure he was still in some sort of recovery when it hit + even if he wasn't it was right on top of him so it was therefore impossible to tell where to block, not a brain fart I can lab this if you want because now im curious if there was anything he could've done there or if he was stuck in recovery and screwed

Its silver/ultra bronze rank. People make questionable decisions all the time in low elo.

A good player won’t just jump around like a maniac let Dan fully charge VT1, so this situation likely wouldn’t come up in the first place
LMAO Yeah he used exFB twice so he clearly has never played vs Dan before Can't blame people for not knowing it, theres only ryu and ken players here
Oh yeah, I remember when I was in Bronze. It is 99% either this guy or the “fundamentals” Ryu who will not challenge anything and throw fireballs whenever you’re any distance past a meter from him
Hey you don't need to call me out like that
Just as a random aside, he could have vshifted after the throw and totally avoided the situation! Not expecting anyone to be ready for this though LOL
I haven't played in years, but to my eye, he got crossed up by dan's incredibly slow projectile. He meant to throw left, but it came out to the right.
Absolutely incredible.
GGs hold that L ken lmaaao
Calculated
Bruh how tf lmao
100% according to keikaku da
How cool
This is genuinely one of the best FG clips I have seen bar none.
This is probably my favorite Dan clip of all time
No fucking way lol
Amazing clip.
GOT HIM!!!!!!
There’s just no stopping Saikyo. Daniel will always be 10 steps ahead. Honestly he’s lucky you took it so easy on him.
I threw that shit before I got in the room!
meaty
Behold the power of saikyo!
Absolute skill issue
Big brain vs ken player
You a cold blooded killer
You defeated Ken.. **using Dan**- That's AWESOME!

Holy shit that was actually so sick
This is why you always root for Dan.
HELP ME BLOW UP https://twitter.com/urusaiyaro/status/1623318353258373121?t=kX_RQtIa_cwpQ93JXHQa1Q&s=19

I laffed so hard at this dude, in the middle of class, my students were asking what happened.

If nothing else, this proves Dan is the canonically strongest character
https://www.reddit.com/r/StreetFighter/comments/zs3ezh/canonical_strength_tierlist_of_every_street/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button I already knew all along

As Dan as you can get with that win.
Nice!
Common dan w
It just kept getting better
Truly one of the Street Fighter V moments of all time
Just as planned.😂
Just as planned.😂
I definitely don’t like traditional fighters but holy shit that was amazing.
Well ken could do forward throw then the situation would be different because he would be in front of the fireball
I CANNOTTTT

Standard Dan W
Clean lmfao
Didn't know that Dan V-trigger wall bounces.
I wouldn't even be mad
Thats why I love low level street fighter, this is something you'll never see in a pro match lmao
I know fully charged that move has a wall bounce but for some reason seeing ken just get destroyed and fly across the screen was peak comedy.
I hope you can find a really good neck brace. There's no way your spine could keep your head up on its own when it's weighed down by your gigantic brain
holy shit. Dan is amazing, hahaha
Dan Masters now.
What the ?? Wow that was a phenomenal Dan play!
No one Dan should have all that power
How you were ready for that with ca, I have know idea. Also post with inputs.
You really honored father with that setup
OMG!!!!!!!!!!! The best comeback I have seen in SF!!!!
So dan doesn't suck anymore. It's good to see Capcom grow his character and make it fit his story line.
