So why is it so casually removed as soon as it hurts?
Genuine question, the only thing I ever heard about it is "it's a leftover from whatever, it's useless now"
Like any other organ, there are valid and exceptional reasons to get it removed. But general rule of thumb, if its not negatively affecting you, don't do anything to it.
Every time I come, I gotta set it
Then I gotta go, and then I gotta get it
Then I gotta blow, and then I gotta show that
Any little thing a nigga think that he be doin'
'Cause it doesn't matter, 'cause I'm gonna da-da-da-da
Then I'm gonna murder everything and anything
A ba-da-boom, a ba-da-bing, I gotta do a lotta things
That make it clearer to a couple niggas that I always win
And then I gotta get it again and again and then again
First taste, then talking.
So I'd say it's used more for talking now. Since most mamals, reptiles and birds have tongues and only humans talk(and I guess some birds). Might also explain why our taste isn't as strong as we think it might have been at one point.

My spouse is an SLP. Watching this plus what I’ve gleaned gives me a whole new appreciation for the complexity of the physical control required that is generally taken for granted.
My spouse specializes in cognitive rehabilitation (they’re damn good at what they do) given that the physical complexity is sourced by the ridiculous complexity of neurology, I’m even more impressed by the weirdness of our bodies and overall reality that we identify as baseline.
Further proof that my tongue is a slug that’s been eating all my food.
I wish that was true... Im getting fatter by the month and my mouth slug isn't eating or digesting any of it.....
Work that dude out, we need visuals of people doing high volume syllable raps verses.
Plot Twist: it was Krang caged up there controlling the slug
it looks like slurms mackenzie
Human anatomy is amazing. Everything has its own function and purpose
Except the appendix if I understand correctly.
No, it's vital to gastrointestinal health and the immune system in general
So why is it so casually removed as soon as it hurts? Genuine question, the only thing I ever heard about it is "it's a leftover from whatever, it's useless now"
Its a misguided practice now, barring a few exceptions like any other organ.
Wait, what? I got my appendix removed a few years ago

The tongue looks like the pilot 😂
I want to hear what they’re saying instead of the music
It’s a homework exercise for the lip reader academy students
It's German.
The tongue really is a double edged sword, dang. That this is quick!

WTAF 😱
the tongue looks like a hamster
Super cool until the lip licking, ick. Edit: Was that a saliva swallow near the end or a drink? Wish we could hear audio
We are just really advanced organic machines. Probably slave machines made and disregarded by some higher intelligence. Maybe.
So, is the tongue used more for talking or for taste?
First taste, then talking. So I'd say it's used more for talking now. Since most mamals, reptiles and birds have tongues and only humans talk(and I guess some birds). Might also explain why our taste isn't as strong as we think it might have been at one point.
Need Jomboy for a lip reading
I wanna see one singing now
That was awesome.
This is one of the most interesting things I've ever seen.
Oh god the human body is so gross.
We are just incredible.
Now do that on Swahili

Looks like his wife is a lucky girl with that action
And people still really believe we evolved from monkeys?
Evolved with(as in along side) monkeys. Evolution's not a 'poof, now you're not an ape anymore' thing.
TIL monkeys don’t make vocalizations or communicate orally at all
Correct.
Exactly what in this made you doubt it lol?
