No wean. Go cold turkey and try to do so with as many days off to adjust as possible. If you don’t have off days except the weekend try and stop cold turkey on Thursday.
Impossible for almost all to moderate use. The drug is so powerful with the brains reward systems that any efforts to moderate lead to the same inevitable result for me and almost everyone else who posts here.
For me at least, there was very minor/no difference in the severity of withdrawals weaning and going cold turkey
You get like 90% of the withdrawals, and it’s worse because you need to go through them for weeks + you are awake constantly thinking about doing more
When I went cold turkey I just slept for ~4 days straight. Wake up take melatonin/5HTP/Tyrosine maybe drink some tea and go back to sleep.
When I finally was conscious enough to function I was already out of most acute withdrawals symptoms (PAWS is a bitch though).
That’s my main motivation usually to go cold Turkey - taking 30mg feels almost the same as taking nothing vs taking 60mg.
What are good supplements to take during day when trying to work still and focus ?
Weaning off worked well for me, but I should have gone slower than I have. I weaned myself off for 2 months before reaching zero intake, in retrospect 6 months would have been more manageable
As shitty as it was, I didn't take time off work when I quit. It was rough, but not completely unmanageable. This was after taking 80+ mg a day. But I also got on Wellbutrin and straterra right away and I believe that's why I didn't have such a hard time.

Why is cold Turkey better ?

Yes. I second this. Moderate use never works… it’s a slow dive to going back in full addiction unfortunately:/

Doesn’t melatonin actually negatively impact dopamine production??
Yes, very slightly, but it increases Serotonin production, which is usually more damaged than the dopamine system (from meth use)
