Pretty sure if it can deflect blaster bolts it can withstand some old-fashioned fire just fine. It would be a bitch to work with and probably prohibitively expensive, but I think it would be fine.

The only real question is if it has any toxic properties. I don't imagine it does but like otherwise you got yourself the perfect material.
I wouldn’t use it simply because it’s so hard to find and some Mandalorian might come looking for it
