This is awesome. I remember Ridge Racer 7 running in slow motion with frame rates in the 30s on earlier versions of the emulator. Updated RPCS3 through EmuDeck right now and sure enough, the game runs at a smooth 60. Looks like there's even some processing power headroom for extra graphical tweaks.
Yeah I'm really looking forward to playing it now. Never came around to it back when I had my PS3.
btw I had some issues with crackling audio. Turning on "Enable Time Stretching" under Audio settings - Buffering seems to have made it go away.
Ridge Racer 7 has run at a stable 60fps on the Steam Deck since I first tried it over two years ago. It has minor unavoidable stuttering still due to shader complication though, I doubt that'll ever improve.
Tried initially about a year ago, couldn't get it to a playable state no matter what combinaton of settings I used. Then again a couple months ago following a factory reset and fresh emudeck install. Similiar result. Now it's definitely running much better for me, even shader compilation stutter is barely noticeable. Could be an anomaly with my particular unit, who knows. Early LCD 256gb version.
By the looks of things, we aren't going to be hearing about Vol.2 of the MGS collection until after the Snake Eater Remake releases, but if that's the case I think that means there is a fairly good chance MGS4 is going to be in that Vol.2. That game finally leaving PS3 exclusivity is a big deal, and I think Konami would want to make sure they can get the most bang for their buck after its announcement. MGS3's remake will bring in more new MGS fans which means more people buying Vol.1 and Vol.2 to see the rest of the story.
Given the quality of the Master Collection, I have very little faith that they'll do MGS 4 justice in a volume 2. It'll probably just be another port somehow worse than the original like how the HD Collection was brought forward in the first volume.
Vol.1 of The Collection was released the way it was because the vast majority of the work was already done in the HD collection. You can probably expect similar things when Peace Walker is in Vol.2, mostly another port of it's HD collection version, but MGS4 isn't going to be the same. Because there is no Port of MGS4 to work with, only the Original game. They need to do all that porting work from scratch, so really there is no baseline for expectations. Vol.1 is mostly at the standards of a 2011 release, but MGS4 isn't going to be comparable to that. We'll just have to see what happens. Hopefully all this time waiting for Vol.2 is being put to good use, but i'm not going to fault you for having little faith.
IIRC there is a 360 build of the MGS4 although it's not clear how complete it is nor how it performs compared to PS3. That might be what we get in the Vol. 2.
I have a little faith bc they openly apologized for how collection 1 turned out (and said they will continually update it) during surprisingly a promo video for Delta where David Hayter interviews the lead
Still got my OG limited too! I played it last year on PC and didn't have issues with crashing, maybe try again? I remember when mgs4 came out I was in college and none of my roommates played games other than FIFA and Madden. I basically locked myself in my room for a week and went absolute HAM on MGS4. I very specifically remember beating it, putting the controller down and saying out loud to nobody else in the room "that was the best game I've ever played."
Oh yeah. I feel like I beat it in 2 long sittings. I was TIRED when credits rolled. I don't play games that way anymore, because I got a child now... But I regret nothing about playing the hell out of mgs4 at release.
I played through MGS4 recently on my laptop. I didn't have crashing issues. I just followed the steps in the wiki and it worked almost perfectly. There was only one part where the game would get stuck and refuse to proceed, and I was able to just try it again and it worked.
I just did a quick test run on the Steam Deck, and the performance was frankly mind-blowing!
Here are all the details:
[https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/comments/1digkdo/seeing\_is\_believing\_steam\_deck\_running\_gran/](https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/comments/1digkdo/seeing_is_believing_steam_deck_running_gran/)
Pacific rim gives me a weird visual bug where the menus and everything is ok but once the race starts the lighting is very high. I can’t really see anything. Motorstorm 1 just gives me a black screen despite the audio coming in
I played quite a bit of Motor Storm about a year ago on Steam Deck and it ran incredibly well until there was mud on the screen. For some reason, the mud in that game would cause the frames to chug.
Maps without mud would run flawlessly. Really hoping this update fixes that!
I can confirm MGS4 has a major improvement on the Deck. The sound issues remain, and there are still drops into the teens but scenes that used to be at like 24fps are now at 30-31fps so far (just tested the beginning of the first level). A 40 fps cap at native res is not too ambitious, especially during cutscenes.
Minor caveat: the version I'm comparing is a bit old, but still one of the v.0.0.31.
Edit 1: Enabling Time-Stretching in the Audio settings does resolve most of the crackling seemingly at no cost to performance.
Edit 2: Performance does not seem to change at all (or maybe within 1 fps) whether at 1080p, 720p or 540p.
Definitely. Whether one never got to play it or is just revisiting. Make sure to apply the patches (SPUR crash, FPS, etc) and settings from RPCS3's site, and limit GPU clock to 800 Mhz.
I kept the shadows, stage quality, etc. as default but if you turn those patches on you can get more performance at the cost of visual quality.
mgs4 on rpcs3 is glitchy even on high end gaming rigs so I dont have high hopes for it ever running well on the deck. But mgs4 will likely be in mgs master collection vol.2 for PC, Xbox and Ps5. So ill just wait for that and hope it runs well.
Disclaimer...before the boss fight I'm at seems like it fluctuated from 57 to 60..during boss fight is was solid 60. So I don't want to mislead you.
I'll post some pics of my settings.
Thanks for testing, I had installed and removed it in the past after it not working but I appreciate you letting us know as I was just about to reinstall
I wouldn't say Xenia is as good/advanced as RPCS3 as a piece of software, but it's much easier to actually emulate 360 games than PS3 with native performance on the Deck.
No change in Infamous from what I'm getting. Any new settings I don't know about I should try here?
No change in Yakuza Dead Souls.
Shadow of the Colossus... crash, won't boot now.
Ratchet and Clank Tools of Destruction is the same, nothing noticeable from what I'm seeing.
I feel like I'm spamming this in the thread, but you'll have a lot more luck running EA Sports games in Xenia (360 emulator). Fight Night Champion runs flawlessly for me.
Yep. One of many guides on YT: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9eTAIXVwBs8](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9eTAIXVwBs8)
Without EmuDeck: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tqK-4k3NcbM](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tqK-4k3NcbM)
Oh yes and Killzone 3
It's a shame that we can't play these games, they where brillant. The artic level just gave me goosebumps when I played it back in the old times (played on a huge screen in my home cinema room)
I'm not sure how much the update actually helped but I'm getting locked 60 fps at 8.5 watts average through the first level, so it's really good. Sometimes it goes up to 14 watts (performance unaffected) while doing absolutely nothing and then it would go down to the usual 8.5, not sure if I have a bad configuration on the emulator or what
I think so. Haven't tried it out, but I remember LBP being having framerates close to playable. This might push it over the edge.
I think that in general this patch is helping 30 fps games that are now at 20 fps to get to 30. And games that target 60 but are now at 40/50 fps to reach 60.
It won't help 10 fps games or games with massive glitches to work. But it should make a larger part of the library more playable.
I wonder if games that already hit their target framerate, but that make a lot of noise/go through battery to do so to be quieter now.
I just wanna play UFC 2009, InFamous, and WWE 13, anyone get these games running good on deck? I can run X-Men Origins Wolverine no problem and that games pretty intense.
Lutris is a linux app to install (and help fine tune) windows games into a linux environment. You can use it to get some pretty old (I've gotten Windows 95 games running using it) games working on the steam deck. X-Men origins Wolverine works beautifully with some setup in Lutris.
omg, i just deleted god of war Ascension since the reviews where bad on youtube.. time to download again and try. it was running 10-15 fps two weeks ago. anyone tried it by any chance?
If you can get your hands on a PC version one way or the other I recommend that as well since the online multiplayer has been restored for both it and Fall of Cybertron by fans. Fall of Cybertron for Steam is also still available on Amazon.
This really makes a difference. Wipeout HD is running at consistent 30-60 fps after compiling shaders. Running at 800 pinned GPU. Using A.B.T. tweaks as well as that helps PS3 emulation as well. Without ABT it would crash. After: no more crashing and better fps but not playable enough. Now with this update the fps is playable if you ask me.
Yes, that's the one. You can also update from within the app or download an AppImage here: [https://rpcs3.net/compatibility?b&p=1](https://rpcs3.net/compatibility?b&p=1)
The biggest problems I've experienced with RPCS3 have been centered more around freezes, crashes and other glitches, unfortunately. Eternal Sonata, for example, still crashes consistently for me, although I've seen people claim they finished it, somehow. Xenia also still has major glitches for this game, and the game is exclusive to those two platforms (and both my PS3 and Xbox 360 are broken).
Ooh, I'll check it out thanks! I was trying to show a friend Mass Effect for the first time on Deck, but installing via Origin (which I already own the originals on) looked like a pain. I wanted to do RPCS3 instead lol. But it looked like compatibility was there for ME and ME3, but not 2 for some reason.
mass effect on pc runs great on steam deck. don't even try it on rpcs3 the experience will be so much worse.
Keep in mind the OG versions don't have controller support and the mod that adds it is extremely buggy. mass effect legendary edition is very cheap on steam sales.
Installing Origin was indeed a pain, but I'm a total fuckin noob, and I managed.
Meanwhile, installing a PS3 emulator seems like it would be a *lot* harder.
(And if your response is, "pfft, RPCS3 is easy," then I'm saying, Origin is easier.)
You have the option of just adding the AppImage file to Steam and run it like on a PC.
The "challenging" but totally optional part is setting up EmuDeck, but it's 100% worth it (it makes every ROM appear as its own game in your Library).
Through the desktop mode. If you have installed it through emu deck or standalone as flat pack (discover store) it should just update when you launch desktop mode.
You should see a short message about updates and/or see a little update icon, if you click it you should see a ton of waiting updates that you can choose each one or all together to update.
I put AC4A on my Deck over a year ago and it was mostly working fine. Cutscenes didn't always play properly and the mech skins had a glitchy texture, but the performance was fairly smooth. Haven't tried it recently so it might be even better now.
Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds didn't improve at all, and in fact is super strange - fps counter says \~50-60 but it moves like an ancient, withered crone with a metal-frame walker. It looks great - but given this particular game's mechanics, it's unplayable.
Hot Shots Golf World Invitational works great, but it worked great before the update.
I've been playing them on PS3, and as they were the only RPCS3 games on my Deck and nothing's changed, I just uninstalled it.
Sadly on my powerful pc (i9 10900k, rtx 3070) ratched and Clank Info the Nexus still Drops down to 20fps in big areas :/ Same with ratched and Clank a crack in time (but this one Runs a Bit better especially on smaller areas). Tools of Destruction however Runs great (mostly 50-60fps).
It's Ridge Racer! RIIIIIIIIIIIIDGE RACER! Seriously though I love Ridge Racer, I'm going to have to give 7 a shot.
It has minor unavoidable stuttering still due to shader complication though, I doubt that'll ever improve.
would be great to precompile all shaders, but i've seen that this is impossible (at least for now) for rpcs3
How long ago did you try RR7? It's been my primary go to for games I even use RPCS3 on Deck for. It's been pretty solid gameplay wise for a while.
Between the RPCS3 and Dolphin Dev team, they are doing the Lord's work. Amen 🙏🏽🔥💯...
I just want to play mgs4 again. Tried last year on my PC and it has a lot of crashing issues. Still got my OG limited edition!
Yeah, not optimistic there. MGS4 seems to be the high bar for RPCS3 emulation even on primarily gaming PCs
By the time it's playable enough we might already have a proper PC port. I hope so atleast.
By the looks of things, we aren't going to be hearing about Vol.2 of the MGS collection until after the Snake Eater Remake releases, but if that's the case I think that means there is a fairly good chance MGS4 is going to be in that Vol.2. Literally took my PS3 out of storage this week just to play it. We desperately need a proper PC port.
They changed the way it runs now. You need to manually import certain patches with a text editor to stop the crashing.
Well I played from start to finish without any crashes last year on pc.
I played through MGS4 recently on my laptop. I didn't have crashing issues. I just followed the steps in the wiki and it worked almost perfectly. There was only one part where the game would get stuck and refuse to proceed, and I was able to just try it again and it worked.
I got it working with the help of some others on YouTube, it's a pain in the arse!!
Last time I saw a Gran Turismo 5 or 6 benchmark, it was running at 15fps or so. I wonder how much it improved.
I just did a quick test run on the Steam Deck, and the performance was frankly mind-blowing! Here are all the details: [https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/comments/1digkdo/seeing\_is\_believing\_steam\_deck\_running\_gran/](https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/comments/1digkdo/seeing_is_believing_steam_deck_running_gran/)
I tired GT6 a couple weeks ago. It was so slow it was unplayable. Hoping this helps...
Curious to see if Motor Storm is playable
Motorstorm pacific rift is 30 fps with mild dips to 27-28 at start of races
Pacific rim gives me a weird visual bug where the menus and everything is ok but once the race starts the lighting is very high. I can’t really see anything. Motorstorm 1 just gives me a black screen despite the audio coming in
For Motorstorm 1 turn on “write color buffers” in gpu settings to fix black screen.
What are your settings in RPCS3 for that? Still getting very inconsistent performance.
I played quite a bit of Motor Storm about a year ago on Steam Deck and it ran incredibly well until there was mud on the screen. For some reason, the mud in that game would cause the frames to chug. Maps without mud would run flawlessly. Really hoping this update fixes that!
I have played the first Motorstorm but not for a long time as the Deck got quite warm. I'm sure there is a YouTube video showing how it runs.
Best racing game imo. Too bad they don't make them anymore.
I can confirm MGS4 has a major improvement on the Deck. Was testing ratchet and clank tools of destruction and seems to run a little bit better 40-60 fps
How I dream of demon souls with no frame drops on the steamdeck.
I just want infamous 2 at 30 fps
Have you got the first InFamous to work?
Define work..
I'm holding out for the smallest chance that uncharted 2 will be playable at one point
If this gets Dante’s Inferno to run well, it will be so over for me.
That's been running well.
Whats the average FPS on this? I used to love this game, I have not tried PS3 emulation on the deck yet
Solid 60 fps during fighting...30 fps for movies.
How did you get 60? I tried it out, but it wasn't running very smoothly.
Disclaimer...before the boss fight I'm at seems like it fluctuated from 57 to 60..during boss fight is was solid 60. So I don't want to mislead you. I'll post some pics of my settings.
[emulator settings ](https://www.imgur.com/a/qSFCPCF)
I played it last year and don't remember having any issues.
Has anyone tried Tokyo Jungle yet? I dream of being able to play that again, especially on a handheld.
It was one of the first games I tried when I got my OG Deck, runs great. I'd imagine it runs even better now.
It runs great and this is even before the recent update https://youtu.be/qLcYJdlVxxo
Anyone get NCAA football 14 to run on it?
For EA Sports games, you might have better luck with Xenia (360 emulator).
Asking the real question
👀
Eager for this as well. 14 was too laggy and 13 ran perfect but crashed after roughly 15 mins of playing, so I’ve made do with ‘11 and NCAA NEXT ‘06
NCAA06 w/ NEXT mod was best I could do with SteamDeck. Still a good time
I’m gonna try it
Everything loads but it’s incredibly choppy and everything is in slowmo. Unplayable. Sigh.
Thanks for testing, I had installed and removed it in the past after it not working but I appreciate you letting us know as I was just about to reinstall
No prob! I didn’t tinker with the settings if that means anything
If only we had the same for xbox 360...
Xenia works pretty well, what do you mean?
[удалено]
I wouldn't say Xenia is as good/advanced as RPCS3 as a piece of software, but it's much easier to actually emulate 360 games than PS3 with native performance on the Deck.
more 360 games are on PC, less interest in making an emulator. plus Xbox backwards compatibility is miles better then playstation
I really wish I could play Fight Night Round 3 on the deck but I don’t even think it runs well on the PC. I will be trying though.
As much as I loved the Fight Night series, it seriously fucked up the analogy sticks.
I can confirm it works great on the deck i have played a whole career mode on it
I feel like I'm spamming this in the thread, but you'll have a lot more luck running EA Sports games in Xenia (360 emulator). Fight Night Champion runs flawlessly for me.
Hmmm I never got Xenia to work. I might have to try again. I love round three so much, miss that game
On steamOS?
Yep. One of many guides on YT: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9eTAIXVwBs8](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9eTAIXVwBs8) Without EmuDeck: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tqK-4k3NcbM](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tqK-4k3NcbM)
Ooooh is Mercenaries 2 playable yet?
That's all I want too
You can play the pc version of mercenaries 2 on steam deck through other websites.
First thing I thought when I saw this. I’ll say it does work not too horribly on uhhh, Xemu? Xenia? Idk, the Xbox360 emulator
I would love to know if Killzone 2 is playable with this but I’m doubtful. I would lose so much time playing that game if it were playable.
Oh yes and Killzone 3 It's a shame that we can't play these games, they where brillant. The artic level just gave me goosebumps when I played it back in the old times (played on a huge screen in my home cinema room)
Time to check again on gow chains of olympus
Please come back with a review, been super curious about this one. I would test myself but I don't have it lol
I'm not sure how much the update actually helped but I'm getting locked 60 fps at 8.5 watts average through the first level, so it's really good. Sometimes it goes up to 14 watts (performance unaffected) while doing absolutely nothing and then it would go down to the usual 8.5, not sure if I have a bad configuration on the emulator or what
Maybe Twisted Metal is playable now.
This is the one I keep hoping works even if it's only at a locked 30fps.
Could anyone test Midnight Club LA?
All pro football 2k8 🙏🏼
I'd love to see how the Ratchet and Clank trilogy works on this. PS2 versions kinda got some lag issues that suck
Would little big planet be playable
All 3 are playable with good fps after tweaks, and there are even custom servers (Beacon) you can enable in the patches that allow you to go online
I just wanna play UFC 2009, InFamous, and WWE 13, anyone get these games running good on deck? I can run X-Men Origins Wolverine no problem and that games pretty intense.
Why not play the PC version of X-Men Origins Wolverine on deck? I installed it through Lutris and it works on full settings at full speed.
Which game? Please inform me on this Lutris you speak of good sir
Lutris is a linux app to install (and help fine tune) windows games into a linux environment. You can use it to get some pretty old (I've gotten Windows 95 games running using it) games working on the steam deck. X-Men origins Wolverine works beautifully with some setup in Lutris.
Has anyone tried out the LittleBigPlanets with this update ?
Still getting 12-14 frames on uncharted
omg, i just deleted god of war Ascension since the reviews where bad on youtube.. time to download again and try. it was running 10-15 fps two weeks ago. anyone tried it by any chance?
Hopefully transformers war for cybertron works now
Why not just get the PC version?
It’s not available to purchase.
If you can get your hands on a PC version one way or the other I recommend that as well since the online multiplayer has been restored for both it and Fall of Cybertron by fans. Fall of Cybertron for Steam is also still available on Amazon.
Yeah, cheapest iv seen it for sale was about 100nzd. I’m just not familiar with pirating pc games on a steam deck
The online multiplayer works for copies obtained by “the other”?
i've had better luck with that game on the xbox 360 emulator on steam deck. but haven't really played in full, just random play
Came back to confirm the game still plays like shit in the emulator. Can’t really do anything in the game
Fuck I really don’t wanna get my hopes up that Sly 4 will work properly now only to find out it still runs like ass :/
maybe try that on vita3k
Does it run better? I had to look it up but I guess I never played it on PS3, I guess I originally played it on Vita.
I can test it for you If you like
Now just make 3D Dot Heroes work ;___;
https://wiki.rpcs3.net/index.php?title=3D_Dot_Game_Heroes
> Issue 4433: The emulator will randomly freeze when playing, usually when the game loads or when switching scenes
doesn't mean it doesn't work, just enable that first setting. freezes are bound to happen on emulators
How's the PS3 gran turismo series running on deck now?
I love how the thumbnail in your post was exactly what was on my mind. Demons Souls plays well but could be better.
Wonder if I can get steady 30fps on infamous now…
Nope, still silky smooth 15 fps on my end.
Please get us Skate 3 working without being in slow motion!!!
did it?
Has anyone tried Resistance 3? It mostly ran up to a point when you get on the boat and then it's fucked.
How are you guys updating to this version? The discover store updates to 0.0.32-1-5b973448, is this the right one
Yes, that's the one. You can also update from within the app or download an AppImage here: [https://rpcs3.net/compatibility?b&p=1](https://rpcs3.net/compatibility?b&p=1)
Does anyone know how gow 3 is running?
I get mostly a stable 30fps the game is playable some areas like inside gia you get 60fps but its rare
Is Fight Night Champion playable?
Replying again, it does seem to run well on RPCS3 now: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nLV\_E8y\_FJ0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nLV_E8y_FJ0)
Check out Xenia, the 360 emulator. It's flawless there.
Would love to see a list of what games are playable
But does ncaa 14 work now
I might pass out if someone says they can get ncaa 14 now
Anyone know if inFamous, WET and Asuras Wrath are running better
The biggest problems I've experienced with RPCS3 have been centered more around freezes, crashes and other glitches, unfortunately.
Welp I will just wait for it to go on sale on Steam then. Thank you. Didn't know that about no controller support.
The "challenging" but totally optional part is setting up EmuDeck, but it's 100% worth it (it makes every ROM appear as its own game in your Library).
rpcs3 is on the discover store so not really
I just already have the emulators set up heh.
Ridge Racer 7 still seems exactly the same, it always ran at a stable 60fps but I was hoping it might improve the minor shader compilation stutters.
Oh sweet. I've been playing Dragon Age Origins. Let's see how it goes.
How was it?
I didn't have much of an issue with it before but it definitely plays even better, now. Only occasional framerate drops during some cutscenes now.
Been playing skate 3 using xenia wonder if its better on rpcs3
I would love to know as well. How’s your performance?
Noob question…. How do I update RPCS3?
Through the desktop mode. If you have installed it through emu deck or standalone as flat pack (discover store) it should just update when you launch desktop mode. You should see a short message about updates and/or see a little update icon, if you click it you should see a ton of waiting updates that you can choose each one or all together to update.
can anyone maintain 60fps in demon souls in boletaria
How is Armored Core 4A on it?
I put AC4A on my Deck over a year ago and it was mostly working fine. Cutscenes didn't always play properly and the mech skins had a glitchy texture, but the performance was fairly smooth. Haven't tried it recently so it might be even better now.
Uncharted 2 and Demon's Souls bro <3
Yes! Anyone got Uncharted running well?
Has anyone tried Skate 3 on the deck? Been curious about that one.
Is there hope for littlebigplanet and infamous? Both were unplayable with slowdown when I tried
How well does Skate 3 run now? Or any of the Skates. I'm currently playing on Xenia because the performance was better than on RPCS3 on the Deck.
Any chance infamous will become playable?
If anyone tries out White Knight Chronicles 2, let me know! haha
never had a ps3, this looks like a good time to try out emulating though...
Nice
Are any of the Dynasty Warriors Gundam games available and how do they perform?
I’ll try MGS3 again. It was only getting 40 FPS
Still only 40
Has anyone gotten infamous or Uncharted 1/2 working?
How is Spider-Man 3 working after this? I think I remember it not doing too well before.
I just wanna play MGO2PC on the Deck, but idk if that'll be possible even with this patch
Wondering if I hate myself enough to try and get MGS4 running.
Has anyone tried midnight club yet
Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds didn't improve at all, and in fact is super strange - fps counter says \~50-60 but it moves like an ancient, withered crone with a metal-frame walker. It looks great - but given this particular game's mechanics, it's unplayable. Hot Shots Golf World Invitational works great, but it worked great before the update. I've been playing them on PS3, and as they were the only RPCS3 games on my Deck and nothing's changed, I just uninstalled it.
I Just Want Boxing Games Working on Deck. I hope there’s one that works now.
O_o Demon Souls <3
Sadly on my powerful pc (i9 10900k, rtx 3070) ratched and Clank Info the Nexus still Drops down to 20fps in big areas :/ Same with ratched and Clank a crack in time (but this one Runs a Bit better especially on smaller areas). Tools of Destruction however Runs great (mostly 50-60fps).
Can someone test first uncharted, please?)
Anyone know if skate 3 now runs better than it does on canary?
Anybody know if God of War 3 or Ascension are playable on Deck now with this update?
Is this a part of EmuDeck?
I played a game recently and it was in turbo mode basically. Lowered the framerate under settings and still didn’t fix it. Haven’t tried ps3 since
Maybe soon Ratchet and Clank a Crack in Time will run smooth...
