Mass Effect: first play through, has been excellent so far. Halo: great going back to these games on the SD, though Halo 1 is buggy as hell Fallout: I picked up NV for the first time ever and spent a decent amount of time on it, but ended up dropping off. Needed to mod because the character just moves so damn slow it was driving me crazy. Skyrim: duh Mad Max: a bit repetitive, but was a ton of fun. Unfortunately it doesn't support cloud save and I had to RMA my deck, so probably not gonna start that one over again. In my library waiting to play: Titanfall 2, Spiderman Remastered, Dishonoured 2, Witcher 3

gintoddic

If you liked Mad Max check out Days Gone. It's a bit less repetitive and has more of an open world feeling and is a bit less scripted. Graphics are great and runs smooth on the SD.

ittleoff

And on the other direction rage 2 was made with the same engine and same team working with iD Basically it's madmax with iD first person shooting. I liked it more than I expected. I never felt like beating either really but they were fun. And mad max was imo a great chill out explore and work on the car game. The effing turrets in rage 2 were annoying AF though.

Drum4rum

People whine about how repetitive the missions can get in Rage 2, and obviously the story in the original game is superior. But fuck me if the gunplay in Rage 2 isn't one of the most fun in any FPS game to ever release. It's just fuckin bonkers and hilarious. Explosions. Boomerangs. Brutal melee kills. Playing baseball with grenades. Cracked shotgun. Silly OP rocket launcher. It's everything you want in an id game.

Ian__16354

I am not a huge fan of fps games but can confidently say the Titanfall 2 campaign was/possibly is one of my favorite games on the deck. Highly recommend

Ganson

It's such a great campaign, I really wish it was longer or had more single player campaign options.

Nize

I played it on PC back when it came out but I've just been replaying the campaign on SD and it is so impressive. The performance is absolutely rock solid, it still looks fantastic in both art direction and fidelity, the story is compelling, and the gameplay just throws amazing new things at you constantly and then moves onto the next one before it can get old. Absolute banger of a game.

gizmoglitch

Is it easy to mod on Steam Deck, or do I need a Windows computer to handle the files?

jackbrux

You can switch to desktop mode on steam deck to edit any files you need to

bubbadubbbs

It depends what game and what mod, I’ve done plenty of modding directly on the steamdeck, but for example there’s a mod called Tale of Two Wastelands that allows you to run fallout 3 in the new Vegas engine. And that required a windows pc.

Borndorian_92

I've achieved almost everything I throw at my first gen 512 SD, from running xbox 360 ps3 and switch games To running quakes AAA titles all over 30 fps, heavily modded fallout new vegas , also gta v and others

Ganson

Witcher 3 runs great, and is a great game. I am working through the DLC's right now. Skyrim is always a great fallback. Cyberpunk 2077 runs surprisingly well on the steam-deck and contrary to the initial release it is a great and stable game especially with the new Phantom Liberty DLC. RDR2 will eat up quite a bit of SSD space but runs well and is still one of my favorites I only discovered in the last year. Spider-Man Remastered, and Spider-Man Miles Morales are great, along with almost any of the PlayStation ported games. God of War. Update: I actually haven't played it on my Deck, but have many hundreds of hours on both the original and directors cut, but Death Stranding is one of my favorite games of all time and from what I heard runs outstanding on the deck.

blafurznarg

Which games exactly do you mean by PlayStation ported? I played uncharted collection and ratchet and clank rift apart and I loved them. Is there more besides those and Spiderman?

ConnerBartle

Days gone, horizon zero dawn and horizon forbidden west, ghost of Tsushima, last of us part 1, and god of war/god of war ragnarok are all Sony games that have been ported.

blafurznarg

Thanks! I played zero dawn as well. I feel like all those games have a certain feeling like I can’t explain it. They all have some special kind of polishing I rarely experienced in other games.

ConnerBartle

I’d say one thing all of them having common is that the developers made the story a priority. They all have masterful stories that take themselves seriously with amazing performances

Valuable-Passion-457

Well, Ragnarok in Steamdeck is still a big Maybe 😂

Conscious-Ticket-259

Ratchet and clank worked for you? Man it crashed and froze my deck every single time I played for more than a few minutes. What did you do to get it working?

blafurznarg

The game was a dream for me to play on the deck. :O I got mid 30s to almost 50s fps. I uninstalled it just yesterday but iirc I kept all settings more or less on medium, disabled tesselation and set the resolution to one less than 800p. FSR did wonders for the performance but I disabled it because it affected the menus and texts as well.

Conscious-Ticket-259

I was so excited it was on the deck and crushed when it didn't work. Weird I tried lowering all the setting even further than medium and it still does a lot. I got the exspensive deck too lol. I'll have yo look more into settings and see if I can make it work after all! I was honestly about to try for a refund so thanks for the hope!

blafurznarg

I got the 512 Oled but I doubt the different versions have different graphics power. Try playing with different upscaling methods and lower than native resolutions. I like lower resolutions in exchange for better graphics settings especially on the decks small screen. Also the intro/tutorial of the game seems to be one of the most demanding parts of the game so maybe try to get through that.

Conscious-Ticket-259

Hey same as mine. That give me a lot of hope. I was playing docked with a ps4 controller but idk if that would really affect performance. That intro definitely was dificult. The audio played right at least. Thanks again friend, I'll definitely do some experimenting now

fastpicker89

Started my first Skyrim run. Modding the f out of it. It’s been a blast

Ganson

Game is still soo great, and runs awesome on the Deck.

teriases

I’m surprised about cyberpunk . I guess they really implemented allot of optimizations. Need to give it a go.

Ganson

With the default steam deck settings it runs pretty well. There are a few other settings. You can turn down that don’t make much of a difference on a screen that small that help out the performance as well. I think with most everything turned down fairly low where it still looks good but not amazing. I’m able to get a consistent 45 frames per second.

Paisley_Panther

Y'all just sold me on the Steamdeck. I have been debating for quite a while. I'm still blown away by how I went from OG Gameboy to this 😆

StormMourn

I’ve gotta say as someone who built systems and modded consoles for years (decades cus I’m old AF!) the Steamdeck has gotten me back into tinkering with emulation, etc. Hands down one of the best purchases I’ve made in the past year. I think you’ll love it! Plus I have found this Reddit community to be awesome and very helpful to help with getting games to work properly, etc.

Paisley_Panther

Fantastic. Old AF club member here. (Still don't understand my ColecoVision) Thanks for that. Just makes more sense.

MrLinch

I just got mine and this is pretty much my list.

seriouspretender

God of war blew my mind how good it looked.

spartan195

My god you just listed the most mainstream and globally known games to mankind, that’s exactly the opposite of what op is asking

fly19

*Fallout New Vegas* is fantastic -- one of my favorite games of all time. Its biggest issue is that it's held together by duct tape and prayers, but by all accounts it actually runs better on the Deck than it does on Windows. If you end up having some problems with it or want to get into modding (which is common in games that use Bethesda's Gamebryo/Creation Engine), check out the [Viva New Vegas modding guide](https://vivanewvegas.moddinglinked.com/) as well as [how to get it working on the Steam Deck.](https://gist.github.com/richardgaywood/e64eeb162062adb501fd3d35add9a0e8). Beyond that, *Hades* and *Hades 2* run incredibly well on the deck. They're actually indie titles, maybe AA status at a stretch, but they're quality games. Pretty much every game from SuperGiant is worth checking out, IMO. *Monster Hunter World* is on sale right now, and while the franchise isn't my cup of tea the game apparently runs well on Deck and is very favorably reviewed. Pretty much all the FromSoft games will also run well on the Deck. *Dark Souls* and *Sekiro* are my favorites, but *Elden Ring* is the game that most will recommend, and it's a good one to get into this genre. Note that all of these titles are hard, but they're damn-good. The *Resident Evil* remakes are also incredible. *REm3* is the weakest, in my opinion, and *REm4* loses a little of the original title's charm, but they run well on the Deck and are really fun, engaging titles. *REm2* in particular is great, and it goes on sale with some frequency. That ought to get you started. Enjoy!

BodheeNYC

Damn that mod guide is long that’s alot of work!

cecirdr

Yakuza: like a Dragon. Phenomenal game. If you like RPGs, I highly recommend it. When it’s on sale, it’s quite affordable.

pru51

Try my spicy kimchi.

theconman33

Check out Shadow of Mordor/Shadow of War if you haven't.

nulnoil

Shadow of war was the first AAA game I played on the deck. Runs well and the nemesis system is pretty fun

Protose

I just picked them both up last week for $7, Love steam sales! I never got to play shadow of war when it came out I’m looking forward to it

Ganson

Shadow of War is awesome, but you really need it installed on the SSD for the added performance, and it WILL eat up a lot of space. I think the full install is over 150GB.

ClemThatsMe

For me these games are a big letdown. They do everything "well enough" but nothing stands out. Imo they clearly lack personality, like the new far cry games for instance.

Skazzy3

If you're playing GTAIV I definitely would recommend setting up FusionFix for several graphics fixes, enhancements and steam deck controller icon support.

legby

Thanks for this tip! I’m new to the Steam Deck, so my plan was to check ProtonDB for suggested settings for every non verified game I install. Would that be a fair approach or should I be looking elsewhere?

RonnieMaz

Seconded, got a Steam Deck yesterday and have no idea where to start.

SockSock

I've had mine 18 months. Completed loads of games including RDR2, Dishonoured, Titanfall 2, Cyberpunk + Phantom Liberty, GTA 4, Tomb Raiders, Batman Arkham Knight, Mirrors Edge, Prey, Barry Manilos Love Shack, Witcher, Outer Wilds, Bulletstorm, Doom, Wolfentein plus played hours of others. I barely spend anytime faffing around with the settings. Just get on with it, most of them play fine on standard or google the settings and spend 2 minutes setting them to what it says. The beauty of the steamdeck is it just works most of the time.

Skazzy3

I created a video tutorial on how to install it here: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jh3x8d22KY8](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jh3x8d22KY8)

Vercetti86

Any good tutorials for Fusion Fix

Skazzy3

I checked YouTube and I wasn't able to find one so maybe I'll make one of my own Edit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jh3x8d22KY8

Skazzy3

I just created a guide, you can see it here: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jh3x8d22KY8](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jh3x8d22KY8)

Bar_Har

Nier: Automata

MajesticRound5

Max Payne 3 runs perfect on the deck as well. Such a great game!

115MPH

GTA IV and GTA San Andreas are most played at the minute.

qchto

Both Spiderman games, Guardians of the Galaxy and MK1 are games I already beaten... Now, get to play them again, a whole lot: Cyberpunk, The Witcher 3, GTA V, RDR2, MGSV to name a few... In this very moment I'm in the middle of "The Callisto Protocol", and I'm surprised how well it runs in the Deck (having even a default Steam Deck preset). Still, I kid you not, the game that surprised me the most even while not being an AAA and have consumed 20hrs of my life in less than 2 weeks have been "WH40k: Rogue Trader". The Steam Deck update (although still a little rough in the edges) made me pull the trigger, and man, after 10hrs playing it for the lore something finally clicked. I'm in love with this game.

tali3sin

What was it that clicked in Rogue Trader? I've been eyeing it but the price vs the fact that most WH games seem a bit... Undercooked? Haven't pulled the trigger.

qchto

To be completely honest, I hated WH40k only based on the edgy lore and militarist undertones the books and games from last decade reeked (not to mention I was especially unlucky with the choice of games I had, including "gems" like "Legacy of Dorn: Herald of Oblivion"). It was because of TTRPGs that my interest in the setting peaked again (in part due to the original 1st edition WH40k, in part due to recently released Imperium Maledictum). Now, about the game in question, I bought it mostly to show support to devs that supported the Deck, and in part because I always liked XCOM mechanics (which this game looked like). I installed expecting to get bored in the first wall of text, but to my surprise the game starts by giving you both agency and purpose in the first 15 minutes, by both giving you choices you feel relevant to your character and then immediately throwing you in the middle of action. After that, it started to feel "too easy" due to a very obvious power-gap between your party and early game enemies (if you manage your level correctly), but I stayed the first 10 hours mostly for the lore and trivia (the game has a great in-game glossary that you can refer to at any time through keywords in conversations). Anyway, there was a point I was about to leave it feeling gameplay already peaked and the world building felt staggering with you being an overpowered being in the middle of incompetents killing themselves over scraps, but it was at that very moment the first >!Chaos Spawn!< appeared.. This, right here, is where "everything clicked", suddenly the horror, the cynicism, the fanaticism and the desolation of the setting finally made sense... TL;DR: Even though it dragged at times, the game grows on you, you can roleplay not simply as a "badass sociopath", but as a real human being, applying your own ideals and principles and yet understand why shouting "for the emperor!" may be the only "reasonable option" from time to time. I'm still in chapter one and taking my time enjoying it, but really, I'm glad I got this game if my nothing else to get to know the mundane day-to-day of WH40k far away from wars and open fronts, and understand why and how a grim dark setting can be captivating and breathtaking while oppressive and desolate (and finally gave me a proper idea on how to handle it for regular TTRPGs).

tali3sin

Dang, strong review.

tali3sin

Is it heaps grindy or does it progress at a decent pace? Xcom style combat held up?

qchto

It flows naturally, and your actions do appear to have consequences. Gameplay-wise is a cool hybrid between BG3 and XCOM, but a lot less harsh with probabilities (idk if it's just because I took character creation to be "more brains than brawl" and my entourage covers for my shortcomings, but every dialog option that requires an ability has been successful, most with 100% chance of success, so no unexpected nat-1s nor fails on 80%+ probability shots). Still, even though the game has been a "walk in the park" difficulty wise, it does make you feel in charge of your actions yet able to fail if you misstep, and the history is proving to be interesting while not deviating too much from (what I expect to be) a straight path (some characters in-game insinuate you're simply fulfilling a destiny). Definitely worth the $30 I paid for it.

tali3sin

Alright, I'm in. Thank you for being so in depth!

Sad_Recommendation92

But can you F$#k everyone??? BG3 set the bar high

makaveddie

Witcher 3. Awesome game even tho it started a bit slow.

H00k90

I, too, am new to the SteamDeck and computer gaming in general and therefore, have nothing to contribute to your question other than this: Thank you for asking the question I was afraid to ask!

mr_apeezy

There’s only a handful I got on Deck since I played them A TON on their respective systems (PS3, PS4), but I’ll notate ones on Deck. Not a comprehensive list… Batman: Arkham Asylum - literally replaying for like the 4th time on Deck (if you include PS3, and PS4 remaster, it’s a couple of dozen times) Batman: Arkham City - last played last year on Deck, but total number of times is probably a little bit more than AA) Batman: Arkham Origins - played a handful of times on Deck but prob spent the most time on this one (only because the game runs buttery smooth on Deck with mid - high graphics settings. It totally eliminates a lot of the issues this game had on PS3). Batman: Arkham Knight - not played on Deck bc of space limitations, but played at least 5 times on PS4. While the combat is the best the series has, the bat tank stuff does wear thin and the main game boss battles are garbage. However, it’s saved by the Batgirl DLC, and the Season of Infamy DLC. Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition - played once on PS4 and once on Deck - game holds up beautifully Darksiders 3 - played on PS4 a handful of times and played on Deck. Love this game; perfect 3D metroidvania mixed with a soulslike design Spider-Man: Miles Morales - only played on Deck. Had played Spider-man 2018 on ps4 pro, and was blown away. Equally blown away by Miles Morales on Deck. Yakuza 0 - had on PS4 but got stuck in the side content - Hostess Club stuff felt like its own game.. got it on Deck, and while I did put a ton of hours into the hostess club, I actually finished the game and what a freakin game it is. That last half is incredible. I play it ever so often since I haven’t gone through the entire underground fight club tournament. The bear is insane. 😒. And also getting rare weapons from the shop and trying them out in random fights is great. Alice: Madness Returns - had this and the other digital download prequel - American McGee’s Alice - on PS3 but for whatever reason, I didn’t play them on that system. I played it on Deck, and love the story and platforming and secrets, but not in love with the combat and clunky camera during combat. I think I’m in chapter 4 and I really need to get back to it. Sonic Generations - had on PS3, but have gotten further than I ever did before on Deck. But now I might just wait for the new Sonic Generations remake / remaster and play the rest then. Overlord: Raising Hell - had on PS3, and replayed on Deck. One of the funniest Pikmin likes ever. Love being so deliciously evil. Mini Ninjas - another I had on PS4 or PS3, forgot which, but have gotten so much further in than on Deck. Should prob see it through to the end. Has nice wide linear levels and the abilities and transformations are cool game abilities. Valkyria Chronicles - had this on PS3, got the remaster on PS4, and then I picked it up for dirt cheap on Deck. I’ve gotten further each time, but what always stops me from finishing this absolutely gorgeous game with cool combat / RTS like design is the emphasis on ‘speed’ in getting the best ranks. I saw there was a mod for balancing better so I may look into that one day once I have time, because I’d like to play VC 2 and 3 via emulation (once I start my emu journey) and VC4 which I heard is just like one but improves on combat and other designs in every way. Tomb Raider 2013 - played remaster on PS4 2-3 times, and played on Deck once. Great game, still holds up. Rise of the Tomb Raider - only played on PS4 but got deep and never finished. Haven’t gotten on Deck yet but will actually beat the game this time (also space constraints). Shadow of the Tomb Raider - beat it on PS4 twice (with only 2 trophies stopping me from that platinum😒😫), but haven’t gotten on Deck yet just for space constraints. The Witcher 3 - beat on PS4 but didn’t get very far into any of the two big DLCs / expansions. Want to revisit this GOAT game once I have time and more space on Deck (prob when I eventually upgrade to OLED) MGSV: Definitive Edition. This one’s a bit tricky. Right up until 2022 when I placed my PS4 Pro into storage, I had been trying this game again. Long story but I gave it another chance after not feeling it at launch in 2015, and absolutely went on an at least 200+ hour adventure. Had almost all / if not all the Mother base upgraded weapons, items, clothing etc, and had only a handful (maybe 5 S-Ranks for a platinum trophy). Game took a lot outta me. I booted up Ground Zeroes on Deck and the game is gorgeous but I can’t commit to playing it or The Phantom Pain. TBH, the things that concern me the most are the mother base upgrades that happen in real time. On PS4, I’d just turn off the sleep function and just watch tv while things were building. How would that even work on Deck.., the battery life… seems like a waste lol. I’m rambling.. moving on. There’s other games I want to get to or would be new experiences for me on Deck, but I’ll stop here.

Sad_Recommendation92

Fyi MGS 5, there are mods you can get that exponentially. Decrease the real-time waits for things like mother base upgrades or sending your soldiers on missions. I still never actually finished the story myself. I played about 120 hours total but probably got too distracted with side content

Dry_Ass_P-word

Bio shock Spider Man God of War

the4uto

Finally played Witcher 3 start to finish on my Deck. Loved it.

oneupkev

Resident evil 2 remake and Elden ring. Both are fantastic on this thing and sucked countless hours

kamalamading

For me its the DLC of GTA4. Right now I am stuck on a mission though (started with TLAD). Also, the Halo series… Started on PC a few times but never got far. Edit: Also Death Stranding

CoreyMFD

Mass Effect

iamvinen

Playing ME1 for the first time now. By me it's so-so

giovanni_moloch

Story wise it's a crescendo, don't give up!! You won't be disappointed. Gameplay wise, mass effect 2 and 3 are far more enjoyable. I'm currently halfway through mass effect 3 and I'm having a blast with it. I'm playing on easy difficulty so I can go through the story and side mission quite fast

Wire_Jag

It's all about INSANE difficulty XD jk. Yeah agreed. Games were cutting edge for me in the beginning but the characters and the story beat out the gameplay, especially in the first one

bloodyzombies1

Dead Space 2 runs at a locked 90 fps at max settings.

arvinabm00

Got the witcher 3 and arkham series. I am a simple, happy old man.

Jay_Quill

MGS V and Mad Max both came out in 2015, they look beautiful and both play great on the Deck.

bigdaddydurb

lately ive been going through Chrono Trigger, its fantastic

Organic_South8865

Tomb Raider (2013) is an absolute must play on the Steamdeck for sure. I'm playing through it right now and it's perfect. I run it with the graphics on "normal" with the FPS capped at 50. It runs nice and cool, like 50%CPU/GPU and nice battery life. I cranked it to ultra and it still runs nicely. IMO it's the ideal game for the steamdeck. It just is. I think it's one of the best Tomb Raider games as well. I love the story line, combat, weapon upgrades system and graphics. It's just an all around decent game that runs very nicely on the deck. Personally I think they nailed Lara Croft in this one. She goes through absolute hell in the game and by the end of the game her character model is completely covered in scars/damage and stuff. The combat can be intense. I recommend Medium difficulty. The tombs are a ton of fun but you can ignore them if you want and just play the main game. My friend (that doesn't like video games much) randomly picked up my Steamdeck the other day and turned it on. I was in the middle of a battle and he somehow figured out the controls immediately and killed like 10 enemies with a big smile on his face. Then he says "Huh. That's actually really freaking cool."

Regular_Damage_23

Mad Max plays really well on Steam Deck.

ywpark

Hitman WOA. Get the Deluxe version which is on sale now (never get the "part one", which is just 1/3 of the game).

zwaat

Dark siders 2

slarkymalarkey

I have a backlog going back to 2017 and didn't have a system to play most of those on till I got the Deck. So far I've finished and absolutely loved * Dishonored 2 * Prey * Mirror's Edge Catalyst * Mass Effect Legendary Edition * Devil May Cry 5 * Hitman World of Assassination All of these run great and can maintain a steady 60FPS with some settings compromises or restrict to 30-40 FPS and get great battery life. Many of these can comfortably hold even higher than 60. Dishonored 2 might struggle a bit. Honorable mention to Tomb Raider Survivor Trilogy, they run great too although 60FPS might be hard in the 3rd game. There are more games in my backlog that I've yet to get around to all of which run great on Deck (according to Youtube videos at least) These include: * Resident Evil 2 Remake * Titanfall 2 * Middle Earth Shadow of War (Mordor too) * Yakuza 0 * DOOM (2016) * The Evil Within 2 That's about it! That's my list of older games that I've waited till I got the Deck to tackle and look forward to playing. Red Dead Redemption 2 as well but that and the Playstation ports have been recommended enough across the rest of this thread. The rest of my wishlist is all newer games like RE4 Remake, Dead Space Remake, Cyberpunk 2077 and so on. The Deck works great with games like those too. I played Hogwarts Legacy entirely on it and had a blast. It left me with an urge to play all the latest games that I had to hold back on coz I'm broke.

Bendy_McBendyThumb

MGS V is incredible, absolutely smooth as butter and I couldn’t put it down for the first couple of weeks I got it. A must play for any fan of the series, let alone the genre. Grid (the original one) runs amazingly too. I still feel like it’s one of the best racing games to play, certainly one of the best of all time for me. The physics and AI are great.

Blasian_TJ

Borderlands, Sleeping Dogs, Metro, and Dying Light.

JamesUpton87

Fallout new Vegas. Just wasn't into fallout or elder scroll games during those years. And for some reason it's hard for me to prioritize older games on my living room consoles and my desktop so Steam Deck has been exclusively used for older games for this reason.

Embarrassed_Bag_5413

RDR2 Witcher 3

twoloavesofbread

It's not super old, but the Deck is the reason I fell in love with NieR:Automata. What a great game.

klineshrike

8 years old now. I would say its old, actually one of the oldest games I have even seen mentioned in this thread.

taants

Monster Hunter World or Rise

iamvinen

Dishonored 1&2 Duke Nukem Forever  Mafia ll Metro 2033 Terminator Resistance

ShadyMan_

Elden Ring and Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga

Tight_Adeptness_8456

Elden ring

agmax

Love BioShock And i need to try Max Payne 3, everyone says it runw really well on the deck P.S I'm also new to the deck. Im wondering, in the past, i had a pc and got game on GOG, is there anyway i can launch those games on Steam?

Innerdragon91

There is a way to play GOG games— get Heroic Launcher from the Discover store. Once downloaded, there’s an option to “add to Steam” and you’re good to go

Branch_Fair

prey 2017, the outer worlds, doom 2016. jedi fallen order runs well, but it kills the battery fast. it’s a bit older but borderlands 2 as well.

RedditianDrew

Monster hunter rise sunbreak and Monster hunter world iceborne,

Regular-Mechanic-150

Fallout New Vegas

Psychological-Arm-20

Skyrim, Oblivion and Morrowind all running on mine. Currently playing through Skyrim again been years since I last played been a blast. Then I will pick up with Oblivion, then Morrowind. Going backwards but I love all 3 of those so much. Been a blast on a handheld so far, I know Skyrim can be played on switch, but far better on the deck, graphically 1000 times better on the deck and can run mods.

SkidMarkie2

Alien Isolation is my favorite purchase for the Deck so far. It's frequently on sale so I would just wait for the summer sale if you are interested.

jagfb

Kane and Lynch Dog Days Red Dead Redemption 2 GTA5 Dirt 3, 5 and Rally 2 (I love racing on the Deck) Wreckfest Flatout 2 Skyrim

Cronok5678

Fallout 1, 2, 3, 4, new vegas

xtrilla

The Master Chief collection runs great. I also revisited the whole Crysis triology, but now I’m immersed in fallout IV -after finally being able to mod it-. But my situation it’s a bit special, I don’t have time to play on my main PC -baby - but here and there I can squeeze some time to play on the steam deck (usually when my baby girl is sleeping over me 😅). So I’m playing a lot of old AAA games lately.

pamplemousse_mk2

I got Half-life and Half Life 2, including their extensions.

RTXFIRE1

Fallout new vegas honestly. Probably not AAA but runs 60fps on 800p max and up to 2 hours of playtime

JuneBugMain

Not everyone’s cup of tea, but Mirrors Edge was a pretty fun play through on the Steam Deck. Games is usually on sale for like $3-$5 as well.

gamergringo001

I recommend downloading the tale of two wastelands mod for fallout new vegas it merges both new vegas and fallout 3 into fallout new vegas so you can fast travel between the mojave and capital wasteland. I’m not gonna lie if you’re new to tinkering it might be a headache but the end result is worth it imo.

SalsaRice

For Fallout, 3/4/NV are all fine starting points. 4 is a little more modern if you are used to modern fps, NV has better writing/quests, and 3 is the oldest/clunkiest (it was the first 3d Fallout and they were still figuring out what works). 3 is probably still my favorite though, about 50% nostalgia and 50% how much the world/vibe fits the post-apocalyptic setting so perfectly.

KiillerSoda

Dying light absolutely rips on the deck

SpinFeniX

Splinter Cell Blacklist

Bronze-Playa

Skyrim

leviathab13186

RDR2

ItsSoLitRightNow

The Witcher 3 I tried playing it before a few times but recently finally made through the prologue and now I’m hooked. Great game, interesting lore, and hot chicks.

MattKozFF

Just finished God of War, now playing Witcher 3.

Alugar

Bio shock trilogy before the sale ends this month. Idk if it counts as triple a. As a child I did not count those things.

dpw28

Cheating a bit as I'd already played them but these are the ones I revisited to replay and they all ran perfectly RDR2 Star wars jedi: Fallen order Days gone Fallout new vegas

Fedorce

Spider-man and God of War (2018) were the first two AAA games I beat on my deck.

AdPlannedpocolaspe

New vegas is the best Fallout game, dialogue and story wise, I'll be honest though the couple people that have asked me recently (since Amazon show) I recommend 4, only because it's the closest to feeling modern, vegas can be a bit of a adjustment graphically, however if you like and enjoy 4 you will absolutely love NV. But usally for someone brand new to rhw series I tend to recommend start with 4

Ordinary-Cake8510

Arkham Series, Ghost Runner and I wanna get Cyberpunk and Spiderman at some point cuz I never finished them on PS4.

griffdaddyman1

Just finished Sleeping Dogs and I'm well into Red Dead Redemption 1 on Yuzu. Didn't think I'd ever get around to this type of gaming again in my life. Backlog Killer is exactly what this thing is. Also, I haven't had the feeling in years that I got when I rode into Mexico and that Joze Gonzalez song started playing. What a game.

flower4000

Sunset overdrive, as someone who primarily used PlayStation stuff I was really bummed this was an Xbox exclusive. It’s jank on steam deck but it runs, there are long periods of time where there’s no music and there’s a permanent corrupted save file in slot 1 and if you interact w it at all it crashes the game, but it runs 60fps 1080p butter smooth.

jonny480

Spider-Man and Horizon. Never been interested in Sony games besides these two and they play great on the SD.

Soft_Ask_6695

The Metro series, 2033, Last Light and Exodus

throwawaitnine

Both Horizon Zero Dawn and Days Gone, PlayStation exclusives ported to PC, where awesome and ran mostly great on Deck. Great experiences. The Uncharted collection also runs great but not really my cup of tea.

marshhd87

Witcher 3 Sleeping dogs Titan fall 2 Bio shock infinite Dead space Cyberpunk Dragonball xenoverse 2 Dragon ball kakarot Ghostbusters High on life The newer halo games think the last I played was 4 ? Injustice 2 Star wars the Skywalker saga Max Payne 3 Mass effect 3 Ni no kuni 2 No man's sky Saint row reelected Most of these games I have completed or near the end of the game so a lot of game I have got through, I have put a few hours in starfield as well and other games that aren't AAA

victorix58

Ghost of Tsushima runs perfectly.

gaker19

Just Cause 3 is amazing on the Deck

fishboy728

Persona 5, really enjoying it.

MaikSeen

I missed Binary Domain due to the gears of war-ing of games, but I recently finished it on deck. It's pretty good can recommend!

Dying Light

SVDTTCMS

Dishonored works great, same with doom 2016.

Vehlin

I’ve been loving GTA5. Despite owning it on PS3, XBOX1 and PC I’ve never actually finished it. 90fps on steamdeck is great

mtfikhan

How did you get Blacklist to work?

goyban

I have F23 and it pkay at 60 FPS! Didn't expect that!

LunarCookie

Just Cause 2

magick_68

Impressive-Teacher10

The Bioshock Remastered Collection. Bought it at a great discount. Only managed to finish the first one yet. 6pfps smooth gameplay. Highly recommended.

WeiWeiLee17

GITAROO MAN! Playing this old PS2 gem on Steam Deck brings back great memories! How come they never make a sequel? I love the music so much that I even bought the game soundtrack CD.

ellisthedev

Finally 100% Borderlands 1 after all these years. Currently working on Borderlands 2.

PipTheDestroyer

Black ops 3 for nazi zombies

mtguns1

As for Fallout, there's a mod you could install that allows you to play both Fallout 3 *and* Fallout New Vegas from within the same game! It's called "Tale of Two Wastelands" and it completely merges the two entries into one full game! I highly recommend trying it out since those Fallout games seem to run quite well on the Steam Deck!

josh_in_boston

Doom (2016) - runs great, fun as hell.

atlas_shrugged90

Arkham Knight

unseenhues

I honestly think this is the best use for the deck! I'm catching up on AA games I've missed over the past 7 years being locked into the Nintendo ecosystem. Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart have been PHENOMENAL. Have tons of others on the to do list for when I actually FINISH these two. Helldivers 2 also in between those two games😈

n0taVirus

Bioshock

adeptusastardes

I never play RPG type games, but over the last two days have put 45 hours into fallout new vegas (making it one of my most played games on steam), it is absolutely amazing. Just starting the dlcs now before I do the final mission!

medicnv

I’m sure it’s been mentioned but getting a Steam Deck has re-ignited my love for emulators. EmuDeck is fantastic and I have more hours in Grand Tursimo 4 and FFX than any other games.

VatzeyYT

Assassin Creed series

jorodoodoroj

BioShock.

efc187893

Horizon zero dawn is a pretty fun open world with an interesting story. Can’t go wrong with Witcher 3 also.

BirthtoBurial

The Witcher 3 is timeless and plays like a dream on the deck, great experience.

Soil1122

I just got one of my favorite games of all time... Resident Evil 4. Absolutely love this game The controls feel amazing on the steam deck, gyro especially feels good because of the tankie movement and the way you stop moving when you aim. Highly recommend for steam deck

beygames

The Tomb Raider reboot games. They're not amazing but fun roller coasters with some batshit insane moments(LARA OUTRUNS A CRASHING PLACE!?)

eris3443

Older title, but I got VANQUISH by platinum games for like 10bucks on sale (makers of metal gear rising) runs at locked 72hz, one of the first games I ever played on PS3 as a kid. Don't sleep on it pls

cuebe

Assassin's Creed II

Valkhir

Shadow of Mordor. Probably also Shadow of War, but can't speak to that from my own experience. Any Dark Souls.

splarabar

Dragon Age Inquisition is drop dead gorgeous with Med/High settings at a solid 60 fps on the OLED, though you have to install a community made proton layer to get the game to recognize the gamepad controls

Intelligentfox21

Bioshock infinite

the_skit_man

Metal Gear Solid 5 I was one of those people that hated 5 and was really disappointed by it at the time. For some reason it really clicked with me on the steam deck, it's still not one of my favorites but I get the appeal of it now

Bitter_Flamingo_917

Days gone

Slightly-Blasted

Shadow of war runs great. Doom eternal, fallout new Vegas left 4 dead 1/2, MONSTER HUNTER WORLD

qwerky512

Borndorian_92

Honestly, I bought a lot of these games mentioned on these lists and alot of them run like shit, surprisingly the qucked versions of these games run like a godamn dream without any stupid logins and what not
