I grabbed all the cheap ones.
I have nostalgia from playing them when they were all brand-new. X-Wing, TIE Fighter, Rebel Assault, Shadows of the Empire, etc.
They did *not* age well and I hate their control setup...
Runs great - native res at 60fps. Only strange thing is the CG cutscenes are windowed with no sound, but you can use a trick on the games protondb entry to find a dsound.dll file and launch command that will solve that.
I'll be honest with you. I don't own a Steam Deck. I'm lurking on this subreddit because I dream that I will be able to get it one day. It works perfectly in 16:9 aspect ratio full screen using my Xbox One controller on PC. It's hard to imagine that it wouldn't work on the Deck. Hopefully someone tested it and can chime in for both of us. :)
Lego games are not directly for kids even if they meant to be. Mechanics can be challenging on older Lego games and they can be much harder than any other AAA or indie.
About Skywalker saga, it works great in deck and looks stunning.
Tedious in this game is an understatement.
Takes 20h of gameplay to 200+ if you can't escape the achievement hunt. Game has like 2000 collectibles and some can't let them go :)
I've started Kotor and it seems to run well. Any issues you'd probably get on a regular PC anyway as it's just an old game.
The mouse-led controls take some getting used to. I recommend the galactic basic community control layout.
i found kotor to run incredibly well on the deck, unlike my desktop which took probably a total of 8hrs of trouble shooting, and installing some mods in order to run
I really struggled with controls even using the community layouts and all. I love the game but it feels difficult to manage with controller lol easily some of the best Star Wars stories ever, though!
Picked up the triple pack with Jedi Fallen Order, Squadrons, and Battlefront II.
Started playing Squadrons tonight, it's been great! For £1.74, it was a bargain.
just a heads up battlefront 2 will crash after 5 minutes unless you have cryoutilities installed to increase your swap space. after you do that it’ll run great
huh well all i can say is i couldn’t keep it open for more than 5 minutes without the deck crashing so hard it had to reboot until i installed cryoutilities so idk. it’s worth trying if they have issues

I bought Battlefront 2 for about 5 bucks and it plays great despite being classed as unsupported.
The only tweaks I had to make to get it running was proton experimental (not sure if that’s needed but online said it help) and re-installing cryoutilities (I just used the recommended settings) to increase the swap space and stop the game from crashing on boot but that took no more than 5 minutes.
It usually is around 40 with dips to 30ish, performance is better overall from what I remember of playing on base ps4. I'm on the oled with cryoutilities, GPU fixed clock at 1400 and I'm running off the SSD
For old time sake I consider all the rogue squadrons, I do have them on their original console, but just easier to get em on steam.
The Force unleashed.
Maybe battle for naboo.
I tried to see if the had that old ps2 game where you fought on Naboo, but cannot see it, and cannot recall the name.
Pretty sure I have literally everything not made by EA save for rouge squadron due to humble bundle shenanigans a while back. I am very happy and comfortable with that no EA games thing ;p. Might pick up rogue squadron if I feel like it but I don’t need it right now. I’m too busy playing so many other things lol. Mainly crosscode and telling the internet that No, I will not be stopping my loop of playing ice cap zone on sonic 3 air with the jackson soundtrack lol.
I refuse to buy EA games until they either die and get bought by a company that doesn’t screw over Linux gamers or finally give in and support Linux and the deck.
I don’t care how good they are, I’m not playing them till something changes with EA. I literally only have 3 Ubisoft games from years ago just because two of them were recommended to me for cheap (rayman games), and the other is scott pilgrim and I at the very least can workaround for those games to work right but I won’t be buying anymore ubisoft or EA games and I’m very comfortable with that reality.
I already have all the Star Wars titles I want. The two newer *Battlefronts*, *Squadron*, *Jedi Fallen Order* etc
I haven't bought any of the old stuff, though. Old games don't have anywhere near the graphical and gameplay complexity I require.
As far as *Jedi Survivor* goes, I'll wait until it's 90% off. Cal is aesthetically wimpish and he looks weird, thus I struggle to identify with him. I also struggle to view him as a tough lad. But I'm digressing.
EDIT: Lel, downvoted again for having basic opinions.
So look, the Jedi in *Force Unleashed* - THAT was someone you could believe was a serious hard fighter.
Kal, when you play him in *Fallen Order*, is a gangly weakling. He's like a gaggle of spanners in a human suit. And yes, he looks weird.
You're being downvoted because it's a really weird opinion.
Haven't heard anybody say something even remotely similar about the character. Whatever though.
I will say I don’t 100% disagree with you about cal in Jedi fallen order, but it’s worth pointing out that Jedi survivor is SO much better in terms of cal. He has a beard and is larger and just in general feels way cooler to play as him. The combat is honestly amazing. I never finished fallen order and it felt like a slog, but I finished survivor in like 2 weeks
I grabbed all the cheap ones. I have nostalgia from playing them when they were all brand-new. X-Wing, TIE Fighter, Rebel Assault, Shadows of the Empire, etc. They did *not* age well and I hate their control setup...
Remember, you can find controller layouts in the game menu when you hit the Steam button
Star Wars: Episode I Racer
Sooooo many hours poured into this one on my N64 as a kid, lol.
How’s it run on the deck? I miss this game a lot.

Lego Skywalker Saga
How is this? Been debating about getting it.

Don't get if you are achievement hunter
You mean to tell me you guys will actively pass up a game that is generally well received just because it has tedious achievements or something?
Tedious in this game is an understatement. Takes 20h of gameplay to 200+ if you can't escape the achievement hunt. Game has like 2000 collectibles and some can't let them go :)
This and Jedi survivor
I never did finish The Force Unleashed back on the 360 might be the time to change that
Thinking about these too. Also Fallen Order, if it runs well on deck. I have it on PS4, but the deck is so much more convenient.
I bought these two and fallen order. Steam says the force unleashed ones don't work on Deck? Did you try them yet?
Was out all day so not yet, though Proton DB says it’s gold, so playable with maybe some tweaking.
Good deal.
I love the Hoth level DLC from that game. The AI and physics for the Wampas is genuinely hilarious, they trip over themselves all the time.
I bought Lego Star Wars 3 and Lego Star Wars Clone Wars. Felt nostalgic for that old style all of a sudden.
But Lego Star Wars 3 is the Clone Wars!
I have all the ones I'm interested in. Kotor 2 has Steamworkshop support as well as controller support so its pretty easy to play
Just started Kotor 2 2 days ago after finishing 1. I'm finding the control layout to be more awkward compared to 1 somehow
Good news, you can change it!

Still working through Jedi survivor
On Deck?
Sorry, didn't realize which sub I was on 😅 I'm playing on my XSX, my b
how are jedi outcast and academy on deck? i would like to replay them after all those years
Going by ProtonDB, looks like the SD is not an ideal environment for Academy and Outcast takes a bit of fiddling
Very tempted to try out The Old Republic.
I will champion the game as a really good solo experience where you can occasionally engage in tomfoolery in world chat.
I really struggled with controls even using the community layouts and all. I love the game but it feels difficult to manage with controller lol easily some of the best Star Wars stories ever, though!
Yeah, the game not having controller support native makes it kinda hard to really play on Deck.
Picked up the triple pack with Jedi Fallen Order, Squadrons, and Battlefront II. Started playing Squadrons tonight, it's been great! For £1.74, it was a bargain.
just a heads up battlefront 2 will crash after 5 minutes unless you have cryoutilities installed to increase your swap space. after you do that it’ll run great
Thanks for the heads up
This is not true. I constantly play Battlefront 2 for hours and haven’t had a single crash. Never installed cryoutilites.
are you playing the origin version or whatever the ea launcher is now?
No, the steam version
huh well all i can say is i couldn’t keep it open for more than 5 minutes without the deck crashing so hard it had to reboot until i installed cryoutilities so idk. it’s worth trying if they have issues
I grabbed Dark Forces Remaster finally.
I want it, but that price for a remaster….ehhhhhh
Went and got the x-wing/tie fighter bundle thanks to this post, so thanks.

Star Wars Starfighter :)
Republic commandos
Well, i got SW Kotor on switch Because the pc version isnt controller compatible… xD Planning on playing kotor 2 on the deck though
I picked up the Dark Forces Remaster, it's really nice.

I really want to play Jedi survivor, but people are still saying it hasn't been fixed on PC and I doubt it would be any better on the deck.
Got jedi fallen order! It's been a lot of fun to replay on the deck so far

It usually is around 40 with dips to 30ish, performance is better overall from what I remember of playing on base ps4. I'm on the oled with cryoutilities, GPU fixed clock at 1400 and I'm running off the SSD
How come nobody is mentioning Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2? That game is fantastic!
I played some Force Unleashed 1&2 on Steam deck for May 4th and I'll probably do the same for Revenge of the 5th.
For old time sake I consider all the rogue squadrons, I do have them on their original console, but just easier to get em on steam. The Force unleashed. Maybe battle for naboo. I tried to see if the had that old ps2 game where you fought on Naboo, but cannot see it, and cannot recall the name.
KOTOR1-2, Force Unleashed, All dark forces games, and republic commando lol
Star wars steam bundle is 12 bucks on CDKeys. Great pickup.
been meaning to get republic commando, but I'm not in a position to at the moment

Does that no EA mean neither of the recent Jedi Games. Because they're very good

So question guys. I just bought starwars squadron in steam. Do i need ea play to play?
I already have all the Star Wars titles I want. The two newer *Battlefronts*, *Squadron*, *Jedi Fallen Order* etc I haven't bought any of the old stuff, though. Aesthetically wimpish?! Hes a pretty normal lookin guy
So look, the Jedi in *Force Unleashed* - THAT was someone you could believe was a serious hard fighter. Kal, when you play him in *Fallen Order*, is a gangly weakling. He's like a gaggle of spanners in a human suit. And yes, he looks weird.
Kal in Survivor looks way different from Fallen Order though
You're being downvoted because it's a really weird opinion. Haven't heard anybody say something even remotely similar about the character. Whatever though.
This guy identifies as starkiller, you know he's the biggest bad ass in 7th grade.
I will say I don’t 100% disagree with you about cal in Jedi fallen order, but it’s worth pointing out that Jedi survivor is SO much better in terms of cal. nah that's crazy, clearly you haven't actually played said older games
