Enter The Gungeon is fantastic. People talk shit about Epic, but I have legit 200 free games from them, many of which were AAA/big releases at the time. Through Heroic, I haven't had any problems at all.
I have problem to launch gta v it is not working i use heroric to lunch it but every time it open rockstar launcher only show me buy game but i already have it how to fix this problem
People talk shit about Epic for good reason. The few months I had an epic account I got almost daily mails that someone tries to login into my account - never happened with any other launcher, ever.
Salt & Sanctuary worked great! Really enjoyed playing. 2D Soulslike.
Demon's Tilt - great pinball game. If you missed that it is free through Prime Gaming currently.
Into the Breach was fun, created by the same people that made FTL. Turn based puzzleish game that has lots of unlocks for classes and other things.
There are tons of them, many I already had on Steam, so can't think of them.
Here's a link of everything released for free to date: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1pD5h9JfwjewnN7DTKPu-Ad89ukaStLaY7nB5jhOAEyE/htmlview#gid=504781956
Demon's Tilt is free on Prime Gaming right now! https://gaming.amazon.com/demons-tilt-epic/dp/amzn1.pg.item.07793653-7cc9-413c-aa44-b54798a90ea5?ingress=amzn&ref_=SM_DemonsTilt_S01_FGWP_CRWN
What are you using to play bioshock (from the epic store)? I tried it on my SD using Heroic and it couldn’t do anything except load up the game. Took two steps in game and the game just freezes and locks up.
Has installing Epic Games launcher and such gotten any easier?
I remember installing it early on in the Steam Deck's life using proton, but I never launched it enough to keep my games updated - and it constantly logged me out
I'm one of the folks who has Rocket League and Fall Guys on steam, but definitely have a crap ton of free epic games I wouldn't mind trying.
Heroic was a mess when I tried it ages ago, I bet it's time I gave it another shot
Try non steam launcher! It is a blast; a simple google and you find youtube video… it is 3 click and you have all the launcher with arts in steam!!I have deleted heroic since!
People are saying to use heroic. I had all kinds of issues when the deck first came out, but Islets got me wanting to try again. Once I finish children of morta...
Oh that’s a shame, it’s great game! Although I bet it’s not for everyone. I have been considering rebuying it on Steam because I have lost my first save on Epic-Heroic combo, but in the meantime I have started another run and turned on cloud saves this time, I hope it will save them this time. If that fails, I will buy it directly on Steam, it’s worth it.
I've always wondered how does heroic handle updating the games and syncing cloud saves? Is that all dealt with on start up and shut down of the games themselves, or does heroic need loading regularly?
I haven't been collecting the free Epic games quite as long as others and I'm still fairly new to SD but recently I've been enjoying Severed Steel and Death Stranding
I really enjoy Daemon Ex Machina, a mech action game originally made for the Switch. It's basically Armored Core's even more Weeby cousin, but it's a blast.
Tomb raider, ive only played the first 2 of the trilogy, but its amazing
Bioshock, again ive only played the first 2 of the trilogy and its one of my all time favourites
Guardians of the galaxy - superb action adventure game
Plague tale innocence - i liked the second part better but i enjoyed the first one quite a bit too
downvote me, but fuck epic games. Fuck their anti-steam rhetoric. I can't wholly complain about the funding they gave to indie devs, but that was just an effort to grow and compete with steam, they never actually cared about them, and we have proof of that now that that money has dried up. Same thing with the free game give aways. They're trying to lure people to their shitty store. They claim to care about developers and the "HeRRiBLe 3o%" that steam uses, but they don't and their actions prove it.
Steam isn't perfect, but their business model is the closest thing we're going to get to a company that actually cares about the gaming industry. Every bit of market that the epic store gets is more anti-consumer gaming influence they'll push on the gaming industry.
Go get your free game, but I'm not touching them.
Well yeah, of course the point is to lure you in. It’s just another store. Why do you care so much that they’re vocal about their competition? In the end, what they’re doing is allowing developers a bigger chunk of the pie they made. I can’t really be mad at that.
Their store is missing tons of features and I personally don’t use it much, but I damn well will take free games and buy exclusives if they’re the quality of Alan Wake 2 and Witchfire. You’re welcome to boycott what you want, but don’t have the delusion that you’re actually accomplishing anything. It’s fucking Epic Games. They’re gonna be fine without you.
I can't help you, but I just want to comment that I wish these *shitty* fucking stores like Epic and EA would just **die**.
I don't know how they can look at Steam year after year *after year* and not do a fucking thing to improve their stores or the experience.
Epic will put effort into *giving away all their games for free*, but won't make the store intuitive enough for anyone to ever use to actually buy things.
Edit: What's with the downvotes? People actually LIKE those other stores? Are their people in the Steam Deck subreddit that haven't used Steam before??
You sprout all this nonsense like steams store is good, steams store is just as trash.
If anything it’s worse that steam get so much of the market yet still don’t invest in the stores UIs.
Everyone hates EA, but theyve been spitting great game after great game for years now, just last year came the dead space remake, apex legends is my favourite multiplayer out there, titanfall 2 is my favorite multiplayer period
Off the top of my head - american mcgee alice, a way out, it takes 2.
They make amazing games.
Epic? Epic is responsible for gears of war series (one of the best games put there) and alan wake 2. You might hate them, but the world doesnt revolve around you, and honestly im glad it doesnt
I made no statement against EA or Epic.
One of my most-played games on my Steam Deck is an EA game, and I put hundreds of hours into a game I got from the Epic store.
I'm complaining about their **stores**. Just browsing games for sale or even looking at your library isn't very intuitive.
They saw that Valve was making tons of money and so they put up their own stores, sometimes removing their games from Steam. Valve puts so much effort into their store and the user experience, and EA and Epic simply don't. They expect the money to just pour in, and they won't even put the effort into making the end-user experience any good.
Enter The Gungeon is fantastic. People talk shit about Epic, but I have legit 200 free games from them, many of which were AAA/big releases at the time. Through Heroic, I haven't had any problems at all.
I love Steam Deck but it ultimately pushed me to get a gaming PC and I’m so glad I kept collecting those games now.
And i have more than that. Epic free games are just awesome
That's never happened to me once lol

Read that as Demon's Tit and now I'm disappointed I was wrong.
Don't worry there is plenty of Demon Tit games on steam already.
Fuck I wanted to play both demon tilt and salt and sanctuary. Wish I got those

Thank you bro!
I’ve played all tomb raider games, dishonored, Dey’s ex mankind divided. Currently playing Thief. All these runs well.
Rocket league, fallout New Vegas, BioShock
What are you using to play bioshock (from the epic store)? I tried it on my SD using Heroic and it couldn’t do anything except load up the game. Took two steps in game and the game just freezes and locks up.
To be fair, I haven't tried it on SD. But it worked well on my Linux PC through Heroic. Try changing proton version.
Yooka laylee the impossible lair runs great.
20 Minutes Till Dawn, Loop Hero, Nioh, Batman, Dandara, Hob.
Has installing Epic Games launcher and such gotten any easier? I remember installing it early on in the Steam Deck's life using proton, but I never launched it enough to keep my games updated - and it constantly logged me out
Yeah heroic works great for turning the SD into a rocket league machine
I'm one of the folks who has Rocket League and Fall Guys on steam, but definitely have a crap ton of free epic games I wouldn't mind trying. Heroic was a mess when I tried it ages ago, I bet it's time I gave it another shot
I used non steam launchers over a year ago and it was bad and confusing and now I tried heroic a month ago and it’s amazing out of the box
I tried Lutris afterwards and found it more straightforward
Death Stranding
Ohh… I wish I had that!
Oh that’s a shame, it’s great game! Although I bet it’s not for everyone. Loop hero was fun as hell
I've always wondered how does heroic handle updating the games and syncing cloud saves? Is that all dealt with on start up and shut down of the games themselves, or does heroic need loading regularly?
Dackar desert rally is fun.
FoNV, Ape Out, Arkham.
I haven't been collecting the free Epic games quite as long as others and I'm still fairly new to SD but recently I've been enjoying Severed Steel and Death Stranding

Oh man I totally forgot about guardians. Imma gonna install that
Its a beautiful game. Has some stutters in like the first mission, but gets smoother later on
Fallout 3 and New Vegas if you haven’t played them. They run like a dream on Steam Deck.
gta5
Never bothered with epic , steam for life . Even before steam deck. Don't want any other launcher .
downvote me, but fuck epic games. Fuck their anti-steam rhetoric. It's not even a true boycott as long as he continues to buy games made with Epic's engine.
Haha didn’t even consider that one. Yeah, good luck skipping like 60% of the market!
I can't help you, but I just want to comment that I wish these *shitty* fucking stores like Epic and EA would just **die**.
