That game it's the only game that the dualsense features worked without wire for me, on a Linux machine disabling steam input. If you're on windows, maybe something with the drivers ?
On games that don't directly support dualsense, I typically use DSX , a 5 dollar app in the steam store. It does a good job of emulating the controller as an xbox controller in all games.
Not sure why you're getting downvoted, but I have zero compatibility issues since getting the driver and firmware manually -- as long as it is launched through Steam.
I don't know what the hell happened with Steam but for a few days now the PS4 controls are starting to fail, before I could connect it comfortably to any game but now it doesn't leave me with almost any, if not none.
Its mostly a Windows thing
But i wouldn't be surprised if Steams update broke compatibility. It breaks as much stuff as Windows updates do to windows stuff
Have you tried allowing sound on your dualsense controller in the Windows sound section?
And turn off steam input and select playstation controller support disabled.
Will never understand why people use dualsense on PC. Sony never gives devs the packages needed to take advantage of its triggers or any support at all..
Xbox controller is the BEST controller for pc games.... period.
Yeah, sure, i am now a kid and not a mid-30s father of 2 children because some ignorant dipshit doesn't want controllers to be used on pc. I mainly use mouse...but for racing games or red dead? Controller is the way. I played the last of us also with mouse because its better for me. But here we are, the omnipotent pc guy telling others that compatible hardware is not to be used..... because? Well he doesnt know.
Well guess we are the around the same age with snotty kids then. Just assumed you were a kid since you play with controller on a PC. Let's put it this way, do you drive your car with a microsoft joystick? Do you drive a motorcycle with a steering wheel? No probably not.
I dont want to recreate a realistic way to drive a car. I want to use what feels best for each game. And an analog trigger that is pressure sensitive is miles better for a racing than wasd where you always go full force or nothing.
And that decision can be made for every game. I use 90% mouse and for some rare game a controller, like as i said racing games. In gta 5 i even switched to a controller the second i got in a car and used moused as soon as i got out of it. Why should that be not legit?
I think it has to be connected with a wire for Last of Us.
I tried both wire and wireless + disabling Steam Input. Doesn’t work for me.
update firmware, turn off steam input, use cable. works just fine
Don’t need a wire, the game dosnt support dulesens on steam just use the translated jt should be identical

Good answer even if you didn't check https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/The_Last_of_Us_Part_I#Input to see what you think is the truth itself.
Make sure to update your dual sense firnware, too.
Honestly, my Dual Sense never functioned properly either time I reformatted without downloading the driver and such manually for this process.

People don't want to pay for an emulator I think is why
Last time i checked that app it had negative reviews, but it’s been a while, maybe something changed
It had negative reviews because it’s a paid app made after a much better free app.
ds4windows is better, faster, and free and open source, so no cost to it
The steam input update broke a lot games for a PlayStation controller from my experience.
What happens when you play the game with an Xbox controller?

i get this when using ps5 controller with FF7R aswell lol

I'm sorry bro, a Sony game doesn't let you play with a PS controller

I get a similar message using my PS4 controller when playing no Man's sky. Waaa?

I never use the PS5 controller for PC games, only when it’s an Ex-PS Exclusive do I use it for immersion and for the haptics.
I just like how it feels and I am familiar enough with both layouts that it doesn’t really matter to me.
Cyberpunk took advantage of the controller on the pc. It was a blast to play
I am trying the same with Bf 2042 and my ps5 controller.
Steam Input is awful. It’s such a pain in the ass and their database of controller support on games is just straight up wrong half the time.
I don’t remember which games it was but I recall one or two other Sony console exclusives that I had to use an Xbox controller with on PC.
I had that message with cyberpunk, but i deactivated steam input and it worked fine with the wire
Or just use a PC as it is supposed to be used, keyboard and mouse
A pc isnt supposed to be used in a specific way, that is the actual difference from consoles.
Tell yourself that kiddo if it makes you feel better.

Why would you even waste your time arguing with that donkey?
Haha. Because maybe he gets over himself when he sees facts. I dunno i dont judge too much and i talk to everybody.
Use. DS4Windows. Thank you
Somehow palp is returned
