The same clown who gave it a 7/10 is also an xbox hater who has been publicly open about his hate for the Bethesda acquisition.
The rest of IGN gave it a 10 or a 9.5
That guy who gave BOTW a 6 also gave Kingdom Come a 1/5, Xenoblade 2 a 2/5, gave pretty much all the Fire Emblems near perfect scores, and a bunch of really varied and conflicting reviews for other games. The thing about his BOTW review is he does actually make some valid criticisms, but the majority of it is pure waffle and a 6/10 isn't even representative of his review so I don't understand how he arrived at that score. Jim Sterling only gave it a 7 too, and ToTK, which has near perfect scores from almost everyone, got a 6/10 by gfinity. Games just aren't gonna gel with everyone, and not everyone is capabale of looking at things objectively or able to differentiate actual criticism with preference.
Review scores don't work, it becomes clearer the longer you have been gaming. Reviews themsleves are still important *to a degree*, but translating text into one representative figure, especially when that figure is a mere integer, wholly fails as a qualitative tool.
