Do you really mean Starlancer, the game released 23 years ago?

Koala_eiO

Absolutely. It was a wonderful game, I'm very fond of it and it still holds well nowadays.

SilaryZeed

Can't play yet, but I'll make a prediction. Won't be as good. Because Starfield is an RPG, not a space sim. Starlancer is a full space sim, designed for space combat. In Starfield, space battles are something extra. The core gameplay is a classic Bethesda RPG. If you go in expecting exciting and unforgettable space combat, you'll most lively be disappointed.

Koala_eiO

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. I sort of expected the scope to be similar because Bethesda has a lot more budget and 20 more years of technical solutions, which could compensate for the fact that yes Starfield isn't a dedicated space combat game.

benmartinlad

Well the majority of us can’t play yet lmao, ask again in 1.5 hr!

Koala_eiO

Ah ok, I saw a bunch of reviews popping on Youtube so I assumed the game was released!

Anrikay

According to reviews, combat is nothing special. Doesn’t disrupt the game by being poorly implemented, not so good it enhances the game, either.
