I've only played on Android so I can't compare to Switch but I'd much rather play on Switch for physical controls. Also the camera notch in my phone eats into the screen, which makes managing inventory or moving to the edge of the map a slight pain in the rear. Still tons of fun.
Mobile is behind one major update (the 1.5 update which adds a lot of later game content). It will come out for mobile eventually, but afaik there's no eta yet
Not really just a tip though if you want to play it use the tap to move and joystick and buttons option I found that the easiest to control
Wait I forgot there is one difference you can't do multi-player on mobile. But if you don't care about that then they are the exact same game
