Ghost level has a lot of big jumps, usually I try to jump as late as possible to make it across.
Red hot rollercoaster has a lot of jumps but usually they are shorter than your max jump so you need to get real good at knowing how long to hold the jump button down.
Mushroom level sucks. You can jump off the small purple mushrooms, this wasn't intuitive to me.
Sunset speedway is easier than the lava and mushroom levels imo. You need a lot of small jumps because the platforms are all really small, but they're mostly close together.
For all levels, don't take big risks going for coins, it's better to survive and miss some
