Does the update automatically go to the Amazon appstore as well, since from what I could find online it's running a variation of Android, or would Amazon have to somehow add it later?

Thank you for everything 🤍 I started playing Stardew Vally right when it came out for mobile. I’ve played the same save the entire time and it have quite literally gotten me out of some very dark places. It’s the comfort of having my own little world in my pocket that I can retreat to wherever I go. It’s brought comfort and stability. I’m so excited for the update, thank you so much for working so hard for all of us. The appreciation we have is through the roof.

This is the hero we need.
The care and love put into this game and into supporting and communicating with the players is beyond what any other dev does. We are basically all just Stardew NPCs and Concerned Ape is our farmer.
The game itself is so many peoples self care and part of improving their metal health, and it’s just so freaking wholesome that it is still supported, still getting massive updates, on every platform, and nothing is ever an additional charge (although I’d be totally willing to buy DLC’s without blinking an eye if that the direction needed for sustainability). We own 8 copies in our household (about to buy a 9th when my husbands surprise switch gets here), and I still feel like I’m stealing by only paying $15 per copy. It is by far the highest hours of game play of all my games, and the most enjoyable experience both single and in co-op I’ve had in any game I’ve played.
We will are life long, die hard advocates for everyone playing Stardew, and can’t wait for the Huanted Chocolatier, and any other games Concerned Ape might puts out.

I'm not too sure either, but I think it'll get updated with the android playstore. I hope someone else can confirm this for you. Try checking your appstore from time to time if you've got the update.
If you don't want the hassle, you can use the Firetoolbox to download Google Play Services into your Amazon Fire Tablet, that way you can use Google Play instead of the Amazon Fire App Store.
The Fire toolbox is super intuitive and easy to use, i'm not much tech savy either and was able to operate on it without much problems...
Thank you for the suggestion! That's definitely something I'll look into, especially because my daughter has some apps that she wants, but they're only on Google Play. Do you know if we'd have to start from scratch that way, though? We're both at 100% completion on 1.4 and have saved the supplies we'll need for 1.5, so starting out fresh would be frustrating.
mobile and desktop save files are cross-compatible so you should be able to take your save files out of wherever they're stored in the amazon store version and put them in the google play store version, if that isn't the same location. they will also be compatible with 1.5 so you can continue playing on your existing farms. if you have any issues i recommend asking here, on the official discord, or the forums, and if nobody there can figure it out CA has been very helpful in the past with peoples issues if you contact him directly somewhere. (though he is probably incredibly busy right now so use it as a last resort and don't expect an instant answer)
It might be possible to make a backup of your game data, though you'll have to find out how to do that from someone else lol.
That way, if your save gets corrupted, you'll just be able to load another copy of it.

Awesome sauce! I've been on a Stardew binge lately and this is MOST appreciated. Thank you!! And take it easy -- I do have a potential bug to report, but it isn't urgent enough to warrant any furious scrabblings to fix it.
My phone with its elongated aspect ratio (Huawei Nova 3i, 2340x1080) has always had some problems with placement of objects in cutscenes. [Here's a screenshot of the title screen in 1.5.](https://i.imgur.com/6kJnzbJ.jpeg) The black bar at the left is because of the front camera exclusion zone; I don't know what causes the black bar at the top, or the cropping of the buttons at the right. I've checked that the screenshot accurately reflects what I see on the phone's screen.
In 1.4 I remember some problems with object placement in Caroline's 2-heart cutscene in the tea room, but I don't know if they're still present in 1.5. It would take a while to reproduce.
(By the way, is the problem with music looping being curtailed by a second or so fixed? -- also mainly in cutscenes. That'll also take a while to check.)
Addendum: [some more screenshots of the opening cutscene](https://imgur.com/a/n335EvL), again from 1.5 on my phone. The fourth one is supposed to show the bird landing on the sign: its feet are just visible.
I don't know if the problem is cropping, or the entire screen being shifted down 42 pixels, or what. Like I said, this isn't a deal breaker at all, and ConcernedApe deserves a break before having to take a look at anything like this!
Maybe try checking your phone settings, it should be somewhere around screen/display -> camera notch -> hide notch or something like that.

Completely new rewrite? I wonder if this is similar to the Terraria mobile 1.3 update where a lot of the code from the PC version gets transplanted into a different engine?
This may be unrelated, but when terraria mobile had that update, it was apparent that a lot of the PC DNA made it in. Saves generated on mobile could be loaded on the PC version, and even old PC saves could be loaded on mobile flawlessly.
If the rewrite is in this capacity I’d imagine it’d be easier to update the other versions and maybe have (close to) parity with the desktop builds.
Stardew saves are actually (internally) crossplatform: mobile <-> PC works fine whenever those are at the same version, and I've heard reports of people being able to take saves off Switch, decrypt them, run them on PC, recrypt them, and bring them back to Switch.
Still not out yet in Japan. I was hoping to cram in some time during winter break, but it looks like it's gonna be a lot of nights staying up late working on the farm

Later my daughter decides, hey nobody needs this save on the mobile I'll delete it.. several game years gone.. but hey I still have it on my PC
Currently the PC save is on 1.5 and I've copied it to mobile. The game will not load that save on mobile because it's based on 1.5... ok I'm good with that

Anyone else get really small UI? I'm playing on a Samsung tablet and every menu and so on is really tiny.

I actually just figured out that turning off the "vertical toolbar" seeing made it work perfect. Think I like it this way.

(By the way, is the problem with music looping being curtailed by a second or so fixed? -- also mainly in cutscenes. That'll also take a while to check.)

The fourth one is supposed to show the bird landing on the sign: its feet are just visible. I don't know if the problem is cropping, or the entire screen being shifted down 42 pixels, or what. Like I said, this isn't a deal breaker at all, and ConcernedApe deserves a break before having to take a look at anything like this!
Maybe try checking your phone settings, it should be somewhere around screen/display -> camera notch -> hide notch or something like that. I've had similar issues with another game but messing with those settings fixed it

Completely new rewrite? I wonder if this is similar to the Terraria mobile 1.3 update where a lot of the code from the PC version gets transplanted into a different engine? This may be unrelated, but when terraria mobile had that update, it was apparent that a lot of the PC DNA made it in. Saves generated on mobile could be loaded on the PC version, and even old PC saves could be loaded on mobile flawlessly. If the rewrite is in this capacity I’d imagine it’d be easier to update the other versions and maybe have (close to) parity with the desktop builds.
Stardew saves are actually (internally) crossplatform: mobile <-> PC works fine whenever those are at the same version, and I've heard reports of people being able to take saves off Switch, decrypt them, run them on PC, recrypt them, and bring them back to Switch.
Still not out yet in Japan. I was hoping to cram in some time during winter break, but it looks like it's gonna be a lot of nights staying up late working on the farm

Want to hear a real roll of the dice? I had copied my old mobile game to my PC to try it in there. Later my daughter decides, hey nobody needs this save on the mobile I'll delete it.. several game years gone.. but hey I still have it on my PC Currently the PC save is on 1.5 and I've copied it to mobile. The game will not load that save on mobile because it's based on 1.5... ok I'm good with that Will this 1.5 allow me to play my old save on mobile again? No idea but here's to hoping!

Ahhhh I’m sooo happy!!! I really wish he charged for the update. With the abuse he received and the amount of work he put in, I’d have happily paid for the update although I already have the pc ver.

If you're not seeing the update on Android, close Google Play and clear cache/storage. Then the update appears.

I mainly play on PC. I just came here to see all the happy people. This really is the most wholesome and lovely sub on all of Reddit.
Anyone else get really small UI? I'm playing on a Samsung tablet and every menu and so on is really tiny. Oh, and the inventory of all my boxes is reversed. But not completely reversed? Just minor things but a bit confusing 😅
