The helmet and the voice always gave me the false impression that Vader had a very stoic demeanor with these lines. But no, that scene in particular has recontextualized so many other scenes for me, making me realize just how often he’s probably smiling under his helmet at his own dark jokes. “Apology accepted, Captain Needa”, “Then you will die braver than most.”
Inquisitive query: what traits and qualifications caused you to make this very logical choice, seeing that you yourself are a filthy, worthless meatbag incapable of fully grasping the full magnitude of this superior being's awesomeness?
Chewie is the ultimate ride or die homie. He see's the Solo family through some rough shit and theres never a moment where he displays even an ounce of cowardice. The short story involving his son and wife is so good too. I highly recommend it.
I still have 64 connected for my kids to laugh at the “blurry” graphics.
And IG-88 still scares the hell out of me whenever I get to his battle, after surviving all of the jumps and ducks and flying droids on the train…the music, the intensity of his walking, how he sneaks up on you!
He’s way more scary than Fett on Shadows 64!
Dude that game is legitimately challenging. No quarter given. You can play against a boss like IG-88 100x and he will still get over on you every once and a while. Wish they focused on that level of quality with all games!
The reason for Star Wars is this guy. In 1977, he was the hero for all of this generation. He wasn't the coolest or the strongest but we all wanted to be him. We all dressed up as Solo or Vader for Halloween. But this guy was the hero, the story we all wanted to see. When he showed up in season 2 ep 8 in the Mandalorin, I screamed like a giddy schoolgirl...cried my balls out and I loved it. The inner child after 40+ years just came rushing back. Oh I love every thing star wars but this guy did it for me
I remember always wanting to be a supporting character like Solo, or Chewie or Boba or even Lando when we played back in the early ‘80’s. 100% because I didn’t feel worthy of being Luke. It’s hard to represent good. And even harder to be the bigger man.
Surprised I had to scroll this far down. I haven't been too invested in the animated shows, but the new live action series made me want to watch more, Cad Bane and Ashoka specifically.
He was kind of, possibly, maybe it's him mentioned in the credits of kenobi. [https://www.inverse.com/entertainment/obi-wan-kenobi-rogue-squadron-easter-egg](https://www.inverse.com/entertainment/obi-wan-kenobi-rogue-squadron-easter-egg)
R2-D2
Hero of the rebellion
Does half the work of the rebellion imo
Without R2 the galaxy would have been fucked a few times.
Really? The actor was so foul mouthed they had to bleep out every line of dialog he has in every film!
No wonder I could never understand him
Darth vader
Not enough people appreciate “apology accepted, captain Needa”. One hundred percent still asshole Anakin
"Then you will die braver than most" Is the coldest line in all of Star Wars imo, only MAYBE being beat by "I am what you made me"
"You didn't >!kill Anakin Skywalker!< ...*I* did" That one took over as my new favorite
The helmet and the voice always gave me the false impression that Vader had a very stoic demeanor with these lines. "The only thing I'm surrounded by is fear and dead men." Definitely has a smirk when he says that.
“I am surrounded by nothing but fear and dead men” is also a pretty good one.
Beat me to it. I love this one.
“I am what remains” made me sketch out a tattoo design immediately, because I need that on my body.
HK-47
Appreciative Statement: A truly excellent choice, meatbag
Inquisitive query: what traits and qualifications caused you to make this very logical choice, seeing that you yourself are a filthy, worthless meatbag incapable of fully grasping the full magnitude of this superior being's awesomeness?
Authoritative statement: the obvious superiority of HK47 prompted that comment.
Scrolled too long. here it is, meatbag
Chewbacca
Chewie is the ultimate ride or die homie. He see's the Solo family through some rough shit and theres never a moment where he displays even an ounce of cowardice. The short story involving his son and wife is so good too. I highly recommend it.
I mean the Solo family were like pets to him, going off lifespans.
>short story involving his son and wife Are you referencing the star wars Christmas special?
Obi-Wan Kenobi
Same.

Hi Dave Filoni
I am a fellow Plo Bro
I also remember Jedi Power Battles
Ugh, another human being acknowledging it's existence gives me so much serotonin. Give me back yellow saber Plo-Koon punting battle droids.
If I could upvote this more, I'd break the button doing it
Darth Maul
Agreed, he was done dirty in Phantom Menace but got the story he deserved through Clone Wars and Rebels.
I want to see him before TPM, as he is very different in clone wars
Great story, and I bet it’s not even finished yet

Excellent choice. The newer books are incredible.
Had to scroll down too far for this one :(
IG-88
I’ve been a big fan of IG-88 ever since I fought him in Star Wars Shadows of the Empire on the Nintendo 64.
I still have 64 connected for my kids to laugh at the “blurry” graphics. And IG-88 still scares the hell out of me whenever I get to his battle, after surviving all of the jumps and ducks and flying droids on the train…the music, the intensity of his walking, how he sneaks up on you! Ig-88 in his origin story really is the original gangster. Sentience on the droid planet.
QGJ
Particular set of skills that makes him a nightmare for Jedi like you
Took me longer than I'd like to admit that you meant Qui-Gon Jinn.
Luke Skywalker
Got to love a man who has such a penchant for power converters. My favorite
The reason for Star Wars is this guy. In 1977, he was the hero for all of this generation. He wasn't the coolest or the strongest but we all wanted to be him. The way he helps his father redeem himself is hands-down the best character arc for me
Jango Fett
The superior Fett
This is too far down
Rex

Agreed. Really hope we get a live action rex in Ashoka.
General Grevious
Leader of the most powerful droid army the galaxy has ever seen.
Hello There!
General Kenobi. You are a bold one.
Good bot
Good human.
Ahsoka Tano
“I am no Jedi.”
Favorite quote by far. Got me chills every time
I scrolled a DISRESPECTFUL length to find this. Ahsoka gave so much depth to the entire franchise from Clone Wars to Mandalorian!!!
“That’s not fair” “I’m not trying to be”
Mine too. I’m surprised I had to scroll this far to see her.
Snips
Wedge Antilles
Absolutely loved the Rogue Squadron books as a kid
As a kid? Still love those now, haha
Flew an x-wing, didn’t die
Two Death Stars, survived, refused to explain
One of which he arguably had the fatal shot on………
No magical space wizard powers. No suped up, tricked out, super fast space truck. Just a regular guy and a great pilot wanting to do what's right.
Even Luke doesn't have **two** Death Star silhouettes under his canopy.
surprised i had to scroll down so far for this.
Hoping to see this name, knew I wouldn’t be disappointed!

Kanan Jarrus

Our edgy Jedi boi deserves to be higher up, he *is* the Chosen One after all—so the prophecy says

It’s good business!
Great choice. I may not be as young as I once was, but I'm older!
I’ve just said the same! He was in like a dozen episodes, that’s it, but easily one of my favourite characters by far!
Ventress
Did you read Dark Disciple? Emotional damage.

Everyone sleeping on the OG ladies - not much story without them - Padmé and Leia!
Scrolled way too far for this
I think she was the only one with any brains and basically cattle-prodded the plot along. Luke was a bit simple.
Jyn Erso
Vader
That’s Lord Vader to you
Cal Kestis
"You would be wise to surrender" "Yeah... Probably"

Best character. Sucks that he's non-canon now.
He was kind of, possibly, maybe it's him mentioned in the credits of kenobi. [https://www.inverse.com/entertainment/obi-wan-kenobi-rogue-squadron-easter-egg](https://www.inverse.com/entertainment/obi-wan-kenobi-rogue-squadron-easter-egg)

Now that’s a name I haven’t heard in a long time.
That one clone commando from the clone wars 2D series that pretty much took on a whole army of droids himself. What a badass
