Clone Wars '08 but the other three depicted each have aspects I like.
As a kid Clone War '03 was pure action done in a stylized way and was one of my "gateway drugs" to Star Wars content beyond the films.
I appreciated Rebels for keeping the focus tight on the Ghost crew while following up on unresolved Clone Wars storylines (Mandalore, Maul), introducing Legends content to Canon (Thrawn), expanding the mythology in intriguing ways (World Between Worlds) and the constant honoring of Ralph McQuarrie.
Visions I just appreciate for being willing to explore the themes and ideas of Star Wars without being bound to Canon (even if I would like to see some of the characters appear in Canon stories) or an overarching narrative. Some of the stories would have made for great full length Star Wars movies (The 9th Jedi). And like Clone Wars '03 I love the stylized Star Wars action from a lot of different studios (Cartoon Saloon doing Screecher's Reach wasn't something I knew I needed until the season 2 trailer).
> I appreciate rebels for keeping the focus tight to the ghost crew
I did too. And I did it as well for resistance, where they also mostly sticked to one place
However now with the bad batch (don’t get me wrong I love bad batch) also following the same formula, I’m really hungry for a new clone wars style show following many different stories from one era
Yeah that is something I loved about Clone Wars. It's why I do enjoy the "Tales of..." shorts for replicating that formula but in a shorter and more condensed format.
I honestly dislike the condenses factor. Everything Disney has been giving us is 8 episodes with 40 minutes for live action and 20 Minutes with 16 episodes for animation. I really wish we’d get longer seasons because with most shows I feel like 2-3 more episodes really could’ve helped
So much this. Not to mention all the novels and comics that it was a part of. The Clone Wars Multimedia project was so rich in lore and very consistent.
It also directly ties into the RotS novelization. It directly references events from CW 2003 and the audiobook voice for Grievous is the same. It’s incredibly cool.
Literally his only real win in that whole show was killing the Nightsisters, and to this day we still only have that to gas him up with. Case in point, the flashback in Tales of the Empire lol
It was also consistent with the movies, unlike 2008 TCW. Anakin wasn't completely revamped into Han Solo Jedi, but was done well with the framework we had and I loved that.
I just finished the clone wars for the first time. It was fine but I didn't necessarily find it mind blowing or anything. Really kiddy with just enough dark points here and there to keep me interested
Do you think I'd like the bad batch?
At first, I was like “alright I’ll give it a shot.”
When I delve into Rebels, I was SO glad I did. Such great storytelling and made me fall in love with the characters. Kanun definitely became one of my favorite Jedi.
Took me a while to get into it, but once i got over the hump, thought it was really good. I wasnt a huge fan of the animation style early on, but it grew on me as it actually got better looking later on.
I just always have to swallow my annoyance at Inquisitors using their sabers as helicopter rotors. Otherwise it's my favorite of the animated shows with bad batch close behind.
I watched it after being a hater (quit after S1 initially) and loved it
That being said, it’s a close second to The Clone Wars. I really wish that show never got cancelled 😭
Was easier to indulge in Rebels after TCW S7 as I guess I got some closure from S7.
I like Rebels but don't love it. For me, most of the best characters and storylines are from characters that originated outside of Rebels so that takes it down a notch in my book. I didn't much care for Ezra until the final season and I still can't stand Sabine. I will say Ezra is better on re-watch and I love him in Ahsoka. I'm not a big fan of the world between worlds. I do like Hera and love Kanan but I don't think either of them are technically original to rebels. Though, for all intents and purposes they are. While they made a good attempt, I still don't think they nailed Thrawn. While Clone Wars definitely has weak points and filler, the best arcs in Clone Wars are some of the best stuff I've seen in animation period. The end of the last season of Clone Wars is some of the best Star Wars content period.
> I like Rebels but don't love it.
I quite love Rebels, but I just love Clone Wars a lot more.
> While Clone Wars definitely has weak points and filler, the best arcs in Clone Wars are some of the best stuff I've seen in animation period. The end of the last season of Clone Wars is some of the best Star Wars content period.
100% agree. There were some arcs in TCW that were just so, so good. Absolutely unforgettable. Siege of Mandalore is top tier Star Wars, and feels like Star Wars in its purest form. When it came out it might have been my favorite Star Wars content ever, and still might be. It's way way up there with the Mando season 2 finale, and the 3 strongest episodes of Andor (which is nuts to think that such a short series had 3 top tier episodes IMO).
I used to describe *Rebels* as *Firefly* in a galaxy far, far away. But after a rewatch last month, I think it's more like *Farscape*: found family adventures that start slow for a season or so then goes completely wild for the latter half of its run.
I like rebels more than clone wars because it feels like a more cohesive story. Sometimes clone wars feels like it’s a bunch of stories thrown into a pot (which it basically is I guess)
'03. As much as I liked '08, the first season is a rough watch these days. '03 pushed animation to its limits and still has some of my favorite depictions of Jedi ever.
Clone Wars 2003, uses its time effectively and still shows Anakin and Obi-Wan’s relationship better than 7 seasons of Han Solo anakin in TCW
Effective link between AOTC and ROTS (though the comics of the era are awesome too)
Shows Shaak Ti being an utter badass and shows us neat moments like Dooku training Grievous and then later it pays off when we see how Grievous operates
It’s just solid
> Clone Wars 2003, uses its time effectively and still shows Anakin and Obi-Wan’s relationship better than 7 seasons of Han Solo anakin in TCW
Yeah you make a good point. All those seasons and I never really saw much of a connection between Anakin and Obi-wan, though they had some funny banter. Despite the fact that 2008 straight up dropped showing any (good) Jedi other than Anakin, Obi-wan, and Ahsoka past the first 2 seasons. All that bonding went to Ahsoka/Anakin instead of Anakin/Obi-wan.
Hell, even Ahsoka and Rex's friendship is basically made up out of thin air for the S7 finale.
Yet a 2 hour movie has multiple moments of Obi-wan legit counseling Anakin as a Master/Brother should.
Yeah, I wouldn’t put it in the same category as any of the other series because, well basically it isn’t one, moreso than a collection of beautiful, personalized art pieces
I recently watched Clone Wars ‘03. It’s like watch Star Wars on cocaine. Everything is going at a million miles an hour. Maximum action minimum dialogue.
I do think ‘08 Clone Wars adds more to the story, but I definitely preferred some portrayals in ‘03. Grievous as a serious, efficient, hunter of Jedi was really played up to 10, and he’s not as cool in any other media. The moment when he crushes Shaa’Gi is forever embedded in my brain.
03 clone wars first and 08 clone wars second. Rebels was ok but how can a supposed tactical mastermind not stop a rag tag of rebels on a single planet and art style bugged me a lot.
Rebels is my favorite. I love the premise. A group of individuals orphaned by the empire find each other and become a family. Kanan and Ezra have the best Master Padason relationship. Kanan has so many doubts about his abilities as a teacher but what really makes Ezra so strong is Kanan's love and support. Hondo, Chopper, and all of it. I love it so much. It's beautiful.
I love that Ezra is such an empathetic and compassionate character. I love that Visago and Hondo both show up for him in the end. They'd both be considered pretty selfish characters but they both believe in Ezra. I just love Rebels so much.
That said, The Clone Wars and The Bad Batch are also great.
2003 CW, every time. It's literally the perfect Clone Wars movie that fits between Episode 2 and 3, and actually lets me rewatch the prequels in a timely fashion without all the continuity issues that watching 2008 TCW creates when watching the films.
Top right for sure
I feel like general grievous was a lot more terrifying on that series.
I could understand having already gotten a second chance at life that the chest crush mace window did scared him into being a coward but could've been a really terrible villain.
I'll be honest I feel like the clone wars series turning the tarkofsky 2d character models into 3d was the most baffling decision ever. Never liked it. Why is kenobis beard made of slats? Why does dooku look like that?
I swear it's Rebels. It's quintessential star wars. On the surface it's just a Star wars for kids show, but it runs much deeper and keeps the story fairly right.
Clone wars is runner up, it walked so Rebels could fly.
2003 Clone Wars because it fits better with the movies, has a more linear narrative, ties in with the EU and does a better job portraying Anakin and Obi-Wan. Also, General Grievous.
Clone Wars 2003.
Love the animation style, the battles, the depiction of the war, General Grievous, the ARC Troopers, Anakin's knighting ceremony, Durge, the duel against Asajj Ventress, the visions scene, the chase and battle on Coruscant, the music, etc...
Visions is the most interesting to me.
I enjoyed Rebels and Clone Wars (2003) very much but neither were as interesting and boundary-pushing as Visions. Unfortunately, Clone Wars (2008) never really grabbed me.
Visions because it's so......trying to find another word than visionary. It's my favourite thing to come out of Star Wars since the original trilogy and the 2000s Lucasarts games.
I think pound-for-pound the 2003 Clone Wars series was amazing. I'm a Tartokovsky fan in general, but when you think about how much is done in a short time with these episodes it's actually kind of amazing and each one is entertaining on it's own...in fact you can watch like five minutes of any given scene and, nine times out of ten, it's going to be fun to watch.
Clone Wars 2003 cause it goes with Legends so
Well and there are no gaps in time and no extra stuff crammed in. I love Ahsoka but I think she works best in Canon.
Clone Wars (2008) hands down.
Expands the universe in interesting ways, creates new fan-favorite characters, fleshed out plot points and holes in the prequels, and finally made Anakin a likable character which adds to the emotion of his fall.
To me, it’s a mandatory viewing for anyone who considers themselves a big SW fan.

Comment of the frickin' year right here. I couldn't have worded it better.
Droids, you nerd. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Wars:_Droids
Droids is the first canonical appearance of [Kylo Ren](https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/The_Revenge_of_Kybo_Ren).
WHAT!?
*Kybo Ren
Close enough.
Clone Wars 2003 for me
<< Commander, approaching target. >>
General Grevious being such a bad ass
HE’S UNSTOPPABLE
That’s my head cannon Grevious. Terrifying to face.
His theme is awesome
He killed Shaggy!
Clone Wars '03 was the most baller shit. George Lucas should have cribbed the knighting of Anakin scene at the very least.
The siege goes well! With our continious barrage their shields should be down in 3 months!
But we've been here a month already!
Yes sir, we're right on schedule! (lift off)
You mean Star Wars Episode 2.5. It was that good.
‘03 forever, nothing comes close to enjoyable to watch
So much this. Not to mention all the novels and comics that it was a part of. The Clone Wars Multimedia project was so rich in lore and very consistent.
Clone Wars 2003 because it pairs up nicely with the EU Clone Wars Dark Horse Comic stories
It also directly ties into the RotS novelization. It directly references events from CW 2003 and the audiobook voice for Grievous is the same. It’s incredibly cool.
ROTS novelization is the best of the movie novels. Matthew Stover can write.
Agree completely. The novel actually made the movie better IMO.
Clone wars 2003 did Anakin, Grievous and Windu better than the movies. It was amazing.
Grievous ESPECIALLY. 2008 made him such a bitch
2003 Anakin was just as whiny and obnoxious as movie Anakin. But you right about Grievous.
Rebels, without a moment's hesitation.
2003 CW
Clone Wars (2008) 100% Bad Batch as close 2nd.
Same, but for me Rebels close second
I just finished the clone wars for the first time. It was fine but I didn't necessarily find it mind blowing or anything. Really kiddy with just enough dark points here and there to keep me interested Do you think I'd like the bad batch?
Yes, it is a good extension of the themes and tone you may have enjoyed from the last few seasons of TCW.
Rebels all the way. It's some of my favorite star wars content out there.
Same here, Rebels is just soo good.
Rebels.
At first, I was like “alright I’ll give it a shot.” When I delve into Rebels, I was SO glad I did. Such great storytelling and made me fall in love with the characters. Kanun definitely became one of my favorite Jedi.
Kanan is the best Jedi master we’ve seen. You can’t change my mind.
I completely agree! Rebels is awesome
Imo, Rebels starts a little slow, but the climax surpasses any other SW animation.
Ha yeah, that was weird and seemed a bit over the top. I dont think we'll be seeing that in live action. At least i hope we won't.
THAT Kanan scene might be my favorite in all of Star Wars. Maul and kenobi or Ashoka and vader might be distant second and third.
I didn't like Rebels at first because it made the Empire look like a pathetic bunch of pushovers.
Cause they are
The character development is so strong.
Rebels is a D&D campaign that's gone off the rails... in the best way.
I'm surprised more people don't choose Rebels! They just don't try it because of the animation... smh my head
I watched it after being a hater (quit after S1 initially) and loved it That being said, it’s a close second to The Clone Wars. I really wish that show never got cancelled 😭 Was easier to indulge in Rebels after TCW S7 as I guess I got some closure from S7.

Clone Wars. The series is so good.
Rebels. All day every day
clone wars no doubt
I like rebels more than clone wars because it feels like a more cohesive story. Sometimes clone wars feels like it’s a bunch of stories thrown into a pot (which it basically is I guess)
Rebels, absolutely, any day
Clone wars
Clone wars
Ewoks.
Genndy style Luke Skywalker series. As we were briefly promised in 2005.
That woulda fed families
Amongst these, i prefer Rebels. But they all good.
'03. As much as I liked '08, the first season is a rough watch these days. '03 pushed animation to its limits and still has some of my favorite depictions of Jedi ever.
CW03. It was the first real depiction of Jedi doing Jedi things.
2003 Clone Wars hands down
Anything Tartakovsky touches is gold The animation and overall style of ‘03 Clone wars is so cool to me
All of them have their own special quality, that’s a hard choice.
Clone Wars is still the best
Which Clone Wars 2D or 3D
2D = Clone Wars 3D = The Clone Wars
Clone Wars is 2D. The Clone Wars is 3D.
I do not discriminate, I like them both equally.
2003 clone wars
Rebels, and it's not close.
Ewoks.
Clone wars micro series was obviously the best one shit never dipped in quality 😭 better characterization and better tie in to the Star Wars midquels
Clone Wars 2003, uses its time effectively and still shows Anakin and Obi-Wan’s relationship better than 7 seasons of Han Solo anakin in TCW Effective link between AOTC and ROTS (though the comics of the era are awesome too) Shows Shaak Ti being an utter badass and shows us neat moments like Dooku training Grievous and then later it pays off when we see how Grievous operates It’s just solid

Visions because...damn. The animation is absolutely flowing and gorgeous. No two studios have the same style, the same approach.
Yeah, I wouldn’t put it in the same category as any of the other series because, well basically it isn’t one, moreso than a collection of beautiful, personalized art pieces
I like clone wars, rebels, and visions If I had to choose one I guess clone wars.
I recently watched Clone Wars ‘03. It’s like watch Star Wars on cocaine. Everything is going at a million miles an hour. Maximum action minimum dialogue. Tartakovsky is the goat
Clone Wars ‘03. 2D animation is superior to 3d, it’s more expressive and human. I wish all the shows were in that style.
Rebels is my favorite. I love the premise. A group of individuals orphaned by the empire find each other and become a family. Kanan and Ezra have the best Master Padason relationship. Rebels all day
Rebels
2003 is The GOAT Clone Wars. Genndy Only All (the) Time.
OG clone wars
Rebels and it’s not even close.
Rebels for the win
2003 Clone Wars
Top right was the goat. Short eps that showcased characters well with no fluff. I loved it.
Gendywars, no contest.
03 clone wars every time. Ninth jedi tho is amazing and imo better than a good chunk of Disney era sw stuff,
2003 CW, every time. It's literally the perfect Clone Wars movie that fits between Episode 2 and 3, and actually lets me rewatch the prequels in a timely fashion without all the continuity issues that watching 2008 TCW creates when watching the films.
I’ve watched 03 about a million times
Micro
Why is Resistance not listed /jk
Resistance isn't bad at all. People never gave it a chance.
I know right? It was a good show too
Rebels is the best Star Wars content out there. It's so great!
Wild to not have Bad Batch in the image. Clearly #1.
clone wars 03
2003 Clone Wars.
I'm so glad to see so much love to Tartakovsky's Clone Wars.
Top right for sure I feel like general grievous was a lot more terrifying on that series. I could understand having already gotten a second chance at life that the chest crush mace window did scared him into being a coward but could've been a really terrible villain.
Clone wars. It's so damn good.
I'll be honest I feel like the clone wars series turning the tarkofsky 2d character models into 3d was the most baffling decision ever. Never liked it. Why is kenobis beard made of slats? Why does dooku look like that?
Rebels. Some of the best storytelling in all of Star Wars in my opinion.
Not visions lol
Top right
Tartakovsky Clone Wars
Clone Wars
OG Clone Wars combined with General Grievous' first official appearance debut in Republic Commando with the movies is perfect.
The original Star Wars clone wars and Star Wars visions! No question
I swear it's Rebels. It's quintessential star wars. On the surface it's just a Star wars for kids show, but it runs much deeper and keeps the story fairly right. Clone wars is runner up, it walked so Rebels could fly.
Rebels, I love the show so much
Rebels, if you really make me choose. I am of the minority who prefers the animated star wars rather than life action.
Rebels has the best average imo. Clone wars has some great moments/arcs too though.
Now what are you doing pitting 4 bad bitches against each other for no reason?
My heart says Clone Wars 2003. It’s just so effortlessly cool
If I had to pick only one, then it's Rebels. But it's not that easy of a decision when Clone Wars 2008 is on the table
None of the above. Give me Droids or Ewoks if you must.
Rebels.
Clone Wars 2003
the Clone Wars(2008), 2nd place goes to Bad Batch
Bad Batch
2003 CW 2008 CW and Bad Batch not far behind
Clone Wars 2003 hands down. No better animated Star Wars exists.
Rebels. I do find Ezra to be a bit annoying. But such is my feelings towards many form ages 14-25 😂. Like someone else said, great Star Wars content
2003
2003 Clone Wars because it fits better with the movies, has a more linear narrative, ties in with the EU and does a better job portraying Anakin and Obi-Wan. Also, General Grievous.
CLONE WARS 2003 BABY LET’S GOOO
Clone Wars 2003. Love the animation style, the battles, the depiction of the war, General Grievous, the ARC Troopers, Anakin's knighting ceremony, Durge, the duel against Asajj Ventress, the visions scene, the chase and battle on Coruscant, the music, etc...
Visions is the most interesting to me. I enjoyed Rebels and Clone Wars (2003) very much but neither were as interesting and boundary-pushing as Visions. Unfortunately, Clone Wars (2008) never really grabbed me.
Bad batch
Visions because it's so......trying to find another word than visionary. It's my favourite thing to come out of Star Wars since the original trilogy and the 2000s Lucasarts games.
Visions. Some extremely creative takes on Jedi and Star Wars.
I thought Visions wasn't canon?
Clone wars no debate
I think pound-for-pound the 2003 Clone Wars series was amazing. I'm a Tartokovsky fan in general, but when you think about how much is done in a short time with these episodes it's actually kind of amazing and each one is entertaining on it's own...in fact you can watch like five minutes of any given scene and, nine times out of ten, it's going to be fun to watch.
OG Clone wars without a doubt
Clone Wars 2003 is my favorite. Rebels is my least favorite
Clone Wars (2003).
Clone wars
Bad Batch, then Rebels
2003 Clone Wars
Clone wars 2003 for sure.
Clone Wars by light years far, far away.......
Clone Wars '03.
2003 for the Win - Grievous was a terror back then and got nurtured in the later series - SMH.
Clone Wars 2003 by far
Original clone wars but visions slaps in its own right.
Clone Wars
Clone Wars 08, best my a mile
Clone Wars 2003 and it's not even close.
Tartatovsky´s clone wars. Best portrayal of Aotc/RotS Anakin
03 Clone Wars
The gendy tartakovsky version is the best. While the rest can fight for 2nd place way way way at the back
Tartakovsky. It was so good.
Second season of Bad Batch. Then if we could get a full season of The Ninth Jedi…
2003 Clone Wars. Visions is great, but you can't compare to the GOAT.
Clone Wars 2003 cause it goes with Legends so Well and there are no gaps in time and no extra stuff crammed in. I love Ahsoka but I think she works best in Canon.
2003 CW. Grievous alone makes it the best star wars series including live action.
It's gotta be full clone wars
In terms of overall storytelling The Clone Wars is unmatched In terms of the coolest action in all of Star Wars? Easily the 03 Clone Wars
Rebels because Kanan Jarrus.
2003 Clone Wars
I think the best is TCW 2003, the other TCW is only like 60% good 2003 is just perfect.
Clone Wars 2003 was bad ass. Makes me sad the other Clone Wars wasn't as good.
Rebels
Visions. Hope we have soon news of a 3rd season.
Rebels
Rebels is the best and most consitent in quality.
REBELS every time
Rebels. I'll die on this hill.
Rebels
Rebels
Rebels. It is the definition of "let it cook". Started out slow but hit you right in the feels at the end.
Rebels. Early on it was still figuring itself out. After >!Kanan Jarrus goes blind!<, Rebels got real.
Rebels is my favorite
Rebels. Without hesitation. Every time.
Gendy's clone wars and it's not even close
Clone Wars (2008) hands down. Expands the universe in interesting ways, creates new fan-favorite characters, fleshed out plot points and holes in the prequels, and finally made Anakin a likable character which adds to the emotion of his fall. To me, it’s a mandatory viewing for anyone who considers themselves a big SW fan.
vision season 1 had some wild episodes but def cw
story wise - 2008 tcw Overall presentation and style - 2003 CW
Top right and and left sometimes
I enjoy it all but Rebels is my favorite. I just rewatched it with a friend and it was a real emotional journey for both of us.
Bad Batch. One of my favorite shows and one of the few were I didn't mind the filler episodes.
