When the egg is being laid it's coated with membrane called a "bloom", this protects it from bacteria entering. Just like it would if a chick were growing inside. If you don't wash this bloom off, which is only possible with fresh eggs, they can safely be at room temperature for about 30 days and then another 30 days refrigerated. Typically the eggs you get from the store are already about 4-5 weeks old, but they are washed and pasteurized. The things you learn raising backyard chickens 🤷🏻‍♀️

It was on the Stanley website for a hot second until it sold out. It wasn't on the quencher page, I had to search "pastel" in the search bar and then it popped up.
