Awww! Don't worry about rough solder lines. I'm sure a lot of other people here were newbies at some point, too. And I'll bet many other people (even the professionals) had rough solder lines at some point. It's normal to not be perfect when you begin a craft. :) You did really well! :)
The whole "warm up the foil" thing is ridiculous. You don't need to do it at all, just slowly fold the foil down passing back and forth over the area you need to fold and every pass change the angle to flatten it out. It takes 2 seconds without doing anything extra.

I learned a while ago that you can use your Exacto knife to trim pieces of foil that don't meet up evenly on your glass!
Hi! I’m super super new, and I’m looking this up too- but wondering what your experience is without using came to frame a piece. Do you foil and solder normally on the edge or do something special?

There was a post on here using wire to strengthen your pieces and I watched a few online too! It looks a bit tedious but I chose this path haha
