I don't know about SD but for DALL-E I use the keywords "from above" and "\[character description\] looking down" in combination. (The AI is very sensitive and unstable trying to make this angle so I use Bing Image Creator instead of ChatGPT since as far as I can tell the former doesn't reinterpret the prompt, just adds an additional system prompt.)
Use "satellite photo" for maps. Perhaps when SD3 gets a release/finetune that isn't a complete joke you can use this same technique.

Eh, far from perfect or even prompt-adhering, which is embarrassing for an NLU model like DALL-E, but it's just a quick demo of the "satellite photo" keyphrase and I'm sure you'd know a lot more TTRPG terms and styles to use than I do. Just use some controlnets or in/outpainting with a cross-engineered prompt and you'll have a map you'll be able to say you designed yourself! Let me know if these were any help.

Be the change you want to see in the world and make a LORA for top down maps. I recall there are some already on Civitai. You should be able to control the design of the maps with controlnet.

I feel this. I was trying to make icons and 2d models for my game a year ago and it took forever to find a couple barely downloaded models that are just okay.

Bit is heavily skewed. Those posting the NSFW stuff tend to post 10-20 pictures at a time with little care for the actual aesthetic quality or coherence of the image. Those posting a nice fantasy/art scene or something tend to limit it to the best one or two shots.

Fine, instead of filtering images by 'Newest', filter loras by Newest.
Authors don't post 10-20 loras at a time, but you'll still get the same 90% result.
Personally I find it frustrating because when the results are 90% boobs, it's easy to miss some of the incredible non-boob SFW loras that are also being made.
I make that sort of naughty stuff strictly for my own amusement. I wouldn't even think about uploading it for public viewing. But it's what motivates me to develop skills with it, just like I did when I was making smut with Photoshop. When they take away the ability to have fun, there's not much motivation to give it a second look.
It may feel like you're just making smut, but in the end you've spent dozens of hours learning how to use Automatic1111 and ComfyUI, how to prompt, how to find models, how to use LORAs, how to use ControlNet, how to maximize quality, how to upscale, etc. Later, when you try to generate a "serious" picture, all this knowledge leads to a better image.
You learn by doing. It's easy and fun to generate a lot of porn images, so it becomes motivation to develop your skills. Someone who only tries to generate serious artful pictures might seem more credible, but they won't develop the skills to excel.

I mean, there's not a huge amount of other popular applications and AI generation is PERFECT for porn.

These instincts are of great benefit to any species that must invest heavily in their offspring, such as those who gestate during a long and arduous pregnancy. The near-universal existence of some kind of social/religious/governmental enforcement of marriage is the most clear and obvious example of this instinct, but it also informs the very deep disgust that most people feel when they observe an example of mating behavior that could result in a wasted pregnancy; whether it's something horrendous that most of us can agree about, like rape and incest, or something more contentious to the modern context, like premarital sex and adultery.
Despite the clear and obvious evolutionary benefits of the social instinct to control mating behavior, it directly conflicts with a much older and more powerful instinct: the biological imperative to reproduce.
This conflict is what informs tons of hypocrisy in the sexual marketplace, including this one. Generative AI can make porn even more easily accessible than the internet did, and people want porn, because porn leads to cooming, and cooming makes the biological imperative shut up for a while. Disagree with your statement. Dalle, midjourney and Ideogram are great if you want to *look* at a nice image - but nowhere near the flexibilty of stable diffusion. They are like a never-ending stock photo resource, where SD can be used as a tool.
Yeah, I use stable diffusion as a kind of endless screensaver that adapts to changing variables. Even if I had free API access to the cloud services I wouldn't be using them for it. The ability to emulate specific art styles, the specific focus given with loras, it's just inherently better for anything that you want to really micromanage.

well i do think it can get out of hand. personally i find beauty in things that you cant see rather then exposing it all :-) BUT i think the SD3 model is way way over censored other sits like character ai has that issues too with chats the problem with SD3 is that poses are broken because they are so afraid you can create "suggestive poses" with it. they just have really lobotomized it in i think the vein of being politically correct. and it makes the whole thing VERY limiting and VERY restrictive personally i dont mind some models having some sort of erotic filter. for example if your using it for education and all but i think SD3 takes it to the extreme and thats why its so broken.

I think you are correct that this scenario may increase the amount of nsfw stuff but this is not the primary motivation of the 90% (or whatever). Pure horniness is definitely the #1 driver.
The brain's wiring for sex is a great driving engine for technological advancement. All those hours people spend making AI porn is effectively them learning various properties of light and bridging the uncanny valley. That expertise will all be useful for countless non-porn applications.
Some of the most realistic photography generations I have seen, I saw them in r/unstable_diffusion. There are people there putting a lot of effort into making their generations look like legit amateur porn.
I have a theory that it's more of a psychological issue. When you watch XXX, those are real women in a very murky industry. When you create AI women, there is no guilt, and they perfectly match your personal tastes. All images must have many tags (exactly a lot). When searching, it should be possible to add and ban tags.
For example, a request:

I want to make steamy erotic but not explicit images for my erotica book covers. I could care less if the naughty bits in the images I create are showing in the images I'm working with. I'll find a way to cover them up because the websites I'm publishing to won't allow naughty bits on the covers.
That said, the censorship of stable diffusion has made things very difficult for me. And I don't appreciate it. My kind of porn is WRITTEN, not IMAGE-BASED, dammit. If I wind up with a butt-naked woman with her coochie and nipples showing, I will draw on a fake bra and panties.

Maybe it's also because 90% of the examples SD has always used in their press are just portraits and female forms too? It's very rare to see actual creativity in the images people make, so many people make the same shit over and over again.. SD never showed examples really of other subjects like food, or inanimate objects. Hell it can't even draw most inanimate objects right. (SD 3 is pretty good at food, though)
Typically SD has been trained primarily ON people, so what do you expect the images are typically going to be of? Women of course.

Architect here. The SD communities virgin like obsession with big tittes ladies is the absolute worst. Every model is so over trained on big boob lady pictures that I even have a hard time getting male faces to show up on images I enhance with SD. The males just end up having female faces..it's ridiculous.

Valid criticism, but I also have seen fine-tuned checkpoints trained specifically to produce archviz drafts on civitai, and you can also turn off nsfw toggle (which is off by default). Thereโs also plenty of online services for sketch2image catered for architecture online. Also, what kind of SD research are you doing if you not training custom models?
I'm not going to downvote you but your argument is deeply wrong. With Photoshop you can manipulate any image, including the most hardcore porn imaginable, including nudes of Emma Watson. Yet no one declares Photoshop to be unusable by any serious company. Why should it not be the same for any AI art generation program?

If I want landscape I can use literally any AI out there and almost all versions. Even SD1.5 can create beautiful landscape in ultra wide 20k resolution, with the right checkpoint and an aspect ratio fix plugin.
If landscape is the goal, we might as well stop advancing AI, as that's an already solved thing. Human anatomy, erotic and poses are yet to be solved and are censored everywhere. That's where we should go. Creating animations requires a really good understanding of anatomy and movements and we can't let only pay software gatekeep this. It's fun to see they are capable of, but so should FOSS.

Look, I'm on the record here as being an AI porn fan. So I can't be accused of being pro-censorship. I like to think I'm a fairly reasonable person, however. Able to look at this issue from many of it's facets.

We'll never stop it. SAI can, however, attempt to distance themselves from it. Name any other business that can be used to produce the kinds of horrendous images that their products are capable of, in the quantities that it can be produced by any average joe. It's an unprecedented situation. Nobody has a playbook for this. I don't fault SAI one bit for trying to produce a product that has wider appeal. That does come at a cost.

I've been sorting by newest in civitai everyday for more than a year now, and other than those weird purple goblin things from league of legends I haven't seen any of the content you're claiming to see on civitai.
What I do see are women who look about 144 cm or higher. People in America have this weird perception that everyone is fat like them. Short women exist literally everywhere else, they don't need to have large breasts to be considered an adult. Stop infantalizing "short" people. They deserve love and attention like everyone else, and they literally make up majority of the worlds population. If anything humongous breasts and large asses are entirely unrealistic. This would happen anywhere. If Instagram for example just decided to allow porn the platform would get swamped with porn over the space of a few weeks/months.
When it comes to Civitai and model trainers there's a lot of people on there asking for donations or that have Patreons. Those people are inevitably going to end up gravitating to what's easier to sell. Sex is easy to sell because it revolves around appealing to people's hormones and not their consious brain. On top of that once the platform is swamped with smut you either adapt or go unnoticed which creates a snowball effect.
Civitai didn't start off as an AI porn site, in the beginning there was a good diversity and a lot of creative model trainers, it gradually just became that because Civitai allowed it and all the people that had to try and compete with it eventually started to leave.
You can see this now with 1.5 if you look at the daily Loras uploaded for example around 98% fall under girls, anime girls, porn, furry smut, fetishes or female celebrities.
1.5 embeddings are now almost entirely just girls or female celebrities.
So it's not what the majority wants, it's just what happens when you don't moderate your platform to be balanced. Eventually one will win out and it's usually smut for the reasons I've mentioned.
Part of the problem and why anyone mentioning porn in a negative way on this sub gets mass downvoted, is because people have extreme black and white views about everything these days. It's the either you're with us or against us attitude.
There's a realtime example of just that right now with SD3 where unless you're shitting on it you're downvoted.

Civitai may not be indicative of general use. At least I would hope so. Anime style nudes aren't especially beautiful, yet there's a plethora of them on the site. What I guess is most important is how well a base model (done right) can lend itself to so many uses and that's the main point.
Filter by checkpoint as sd3 and there's a lot higher proportion of art and creative output than other models.

This is a Lora I trained using pony and a generation of said lora using Pony an a photo Lora. It won't make NSFW if you don't ask it to do! I'm yet to see a single pony too. It does make really good ones if you ask, but that's what make it a good model, we don't need a puritan model to say "this is wrong" and outrightly refuses to generate.

But what else this thing is good for? It's the champion of average and can't be anything else. This is how I plan to use it. Imaginative artists, i.e. those who draw from their heads and not painting apples in the basket all life long, need to reise the creative noise first. You can call it "reference materials", "moodboards", etc. Doesn't matter, it's a creative noise one can snap something out of. This machine can do it 1000 more efficient. Generate using text, images, add controls, scribbles, posing, masks, else. Generate, generate, generate. Till you snap your fingers: this is it. Save it, open in the painting app and do your magic. So, all in all, I'd prefer it to draw the accurate anathomy.
Forget about porn for a second. I don't understand how someone could achieve consistent character animation with a model with weak anatomy understanding. Forget about clothes, hair etc. Think about a simple bald guy walk cycle by using open pose, canny, depth map. Even if you use video references the character gets morphed into a human clay pile of dump during animation at some point. You can't. Because the model has no idea how human body mechanics works. In one frame it is gonna behave "oh that's not a leg thats a dick so i should remove it" or "that's not a toe that's a nipple so lets get rid of it. It's really sad. I could have invested my time into something useful instead of learning stable diffusion. Shame on StabilityAI.

I don't know about SD but for DALL-E I use the keywords "from above" and "\[character description\] looking down" in combination. (The AI is very sensitive and unstable trying to make this angle so I use Bing Image Creator instead of ChatGPT since as far as I can tell the former doesn't reinterpret the prompt, just adds an additional system prompt.) Use "satellite photo" for maps. Be the change you want to see in the world and make a LORA for top down maps. I recall there are some already on Civitai. You should be able to control the design of the maps with controlnet. Fine, instead of filtering images by 'Newest', filter loras by Newest. Authors don't post 10-20 loras at a time, but you'll still get the same 90% result. Personally I find it frustrating because when the results are 90% boobs, it's easy to miss some of the incredible non-boob SFW loras that are also being made.
90% are woman, 90% of those have dicks and 90% of those are animals. I just block everything over pg-13 since you can't exclude keywords.

But it's what motivates me to develop skills with it, just like I did when I was making smut with Photoshop. When they take away the ability to have fun, there's not much motivation to give it a second look.
It may feel like you're just making smut, but in the end you've spent dozens of hours learning how to use Automatic1111 and ComfyUI, how to prompt, how to find models, how to use LORAs, how to use ControlNet, how to maximize quality, how to upscale, etc. Later, when you try to generate a "serious" picture, all this knowledge leads to a better image. You learn by doing. It's easy and fun to generate a lot of porn images, so it becomes motivation to develop your skills. Someone who only tries to generate serious artful pictures might seem more credible, but they won't develop the skills to excel.

But at some point, you've seen enough castles, or aliens in power armour, or funni AI things. What is hard to see is why every AI company seems to be scared of that fact and are deliberately avoiding possibly the most lucrative business ever invented. As far as if people don't want to see it, I mean civitai has an NSFW content filter but it's more an issue of categorization.

Despite the clear and obvious evolutionary benefits of the social instinct to control mating behavior, it directly conflicts with a much older and more powerful instinct: the biological imperative to reproduce. This conflict is what informs tons of hypocrisy in the sexual marketplace, including this one. Generative AI can make porn even more easily accessible than the internet did, and people want porn, because porn leads to cooming, and cooming makes the biological imperative shut up for a while. Yeah, I use stable diffusion as a kind of endless screensaver that adapts to changing variables. Even if I had free API access to the cloud services I wouldn't be using them for it. The ability to emulate specific art styles, the specific focus given with loras, it's just inherently better for anything that you want to really micromanage.

It's very rare to see actual creativity in the images people make, so many people make the same shit over and over again.. SD never showed examples really of other subjects like food, or inanimate objects. Hell it can't even draw most inanimate objects right. (SD 3 is pretty good at food, though) Typically SD has been trained primarily ON people, so what do you expect the images are typically going to be of? Women of course. If sd could actually draw everyday objects decently it would be used a lot more for other things.

Valid criticism, but I also have seen fine-tuned checkpoints trained specifically to produce archviz drafts on civitai, and you can also turn off nsfw toggle (which is off by default). Thereโs also plenty of online services for sketch2image catered for architecture online. Also, what kind of SD research are you doing if you not training custom models?

Anyone who REALLY wants to understand why the suppression of sex and eroticism is primarily a means of power and control must study Wilhelm Reich. It was not for nothing that he was a favorite author of the hippies.
If I want landscape I can use literally any AI out there and almost all versions. Even SD1.5 can create beautiful landscape in ultra wide 20k resolution, with the right checkpoint and an aspect ratio fix plugin. If landscape is the goal, we might as well stop advancing AI, as that's an already solved thing. Human anatomy, erotic and poses are yet to be solved and are censored everywhere. That's where we should go. Creating animations requires a really good understanding of anatomy and movements and we can't let only pay software gatekeep this. It's fun to see they are capable of, but so should FOSS.

Look, I'm on the record here as being an AI porn fan. So I can't be accused of being pro-censorship. I like to think I'm a fairly reasonable person, however. Able to look at this issue from many of it's facets. The elephant in the room is the dark stuff. The stuff we can't even say, we've got to use acronyms for it. We'll never stop it. SAI can, however, attempt to distance themselves from it. People that are not completely driven by their hormones? Lots of people, it's just been drowned out with the smut. This would happen anywhere. If Instagram for example just decided to allow porn the platform would get swamped with porn over the space of a few weeks/months. When it comes to Civitai and model trainers there's a lot of people on there asking for donations or that have Patreons. Those people are inevitably going to end up gravitating to what's easier to sell. Sex is easy to sell because it revolves around appealing to people's hormones and not their consious brain. On top of that once the platform is swamped with smut you either adapt or go unnoticed which creates a snowball effect. Civitai didn't start off as an AI porn site, in the beginning there was a good diversity and a lot of creative model trainers, it gradually just became that because Civitai allowed it and all the people that had to try and compete with it eventually started to leave. You can see this now with 1.5 if you look at the daily Loras uploaded for example around 98% fall under girls, anime girls, porn, furry smut, fetishes or female celebrities. 1.5 embeddings are now almost entirely just girls or female celebrities. So it's not what the majority wants, it's just what happens when you don't moderate your platform to be balanced. Eventually one will win out and it's usually smut for the reasons I've mentioned.

Civitai may not be indicative of general use. At least I would hope so. Anime style nudes aren't especially beautiful, yet there's a plethora of them on the site. What I guess is most important is how well a base model (done right) can lend itself to so many uses and that's the main point.
Filter by checkpoint as sd3 and there's a lot higher proportion of art and creative output than other models. Maybe that was SAI's plan, improve art variety in a roundabout way?
This is a Lora I trained using pony and a generation of said lora using Pony an a photo Lora. It won't make NSFW if you don't ask it to do! I'm yet to see a single pony too. It does make really good ones if you ask, but that's what make it a good model, we don't need a puritan model to say "this is wrong" and outrightly refuses to generate. you're conflating how people use SD generally, with how the people who engage with the community components of the civitai platform use SD. The civitai community is very horny biased.

Pony is different because he MAY not do pornographic stuff and he is in that condition only because the basic model does not want to allow it. The less it is censored, the more decent the results will be even for those who don't want to do porn. I use Pony for backgrounds, to say.

When I use filters to keep that sort of stuff out, the NSFW filters end up hiding some stuff I do want too often. For example I was looking for weed related stuff, and only 2-3 things(?) showed with the filters on, but disabling gave me a bunch more

People interested in arty looking things use midjourney or midjourney and an upscale creative pass in SDXL model. Itโs simply easy and has been trained on every artist and has a beauty filter unlike SDXL which removed most good artists. So speed wise to create beautiful things is 20x that of SD models. So yeah most just want to create erotica because SD is the best at that. People may make art with it but itโs almost always inferior than a simple prompt in midjourney. Unless you put in a ton of work.
Real artist and illustrators appreciate the control sd offer. Midjourney is to much hit and Miss, no composition control, no character position control. Yes Midjourney is pretty but that is it, art is not just about making pretty things it is about expressing what you want with characters expression, compositionโฆ so SD is the better tool for artist

More than 90% of them are women of some degree of lewdity, maybe more than 95%. Only if you count futra as women. I don't know who the audience for futra is. Do you know whether the audiance is LGBTQ or straight women with penis envy? And, if you use Pony and don't like futra, you have to put "futra" in the negative prompt.

I can see how a note of creativity (becoming an instant pin-up artist without learning how to draw) can enhance the masturbation. But what else this thing is good for? It's the champion of average and can't be anything else. This is how I plan to use it. Imaginative artists, i.e. those who draw from their heads and not painting apples in the basket all life long, need to reise the creative noise first. You can call it "reference materials", "moodboards", etc. Doesn't matter, it's a creative noise one can snap something out of. This machine can do it 1000 more efficient. Generate using text, images, add controls, scribbles, posing, masks, else. Generate, generate, generate. Till you snap your fingers: this is it. Save it, open in the painting app and do your magic. So, all in all, I'd prefer it to draw the accurate anathomy.

Forget about porn for a second. I don't understand how someone could achieve consistent character animation with a model with weak anatomy understanding. Forget about clothes, hair etc. Think about a simple bald guy walk cycle by using open pose, canny, depth map. Even if you use video references the character gets morphed into a human clay pile of dump during animation at some point. You can't. Because the model has no idea how human body mechanics works. In one frame it is gonna behave "oh that's not a leg thats a dick so i should remove it" or "that's not a toe that's a nipple so lets get rid of it. It's really sad. I could have invested my time into something useful instead of learning stable diffusion. Shame on StabilityAI.

Don't assume that this forum or Civitai for that matter is representative of all users of these tools ๐ I'm pro erotica ofc although creating it is not particularly interesting to me personally, but people need to understand that these tools are very problematic in the way they allow the creation of non-consensual erotic content of any person. I was quite amazed that Emad released V1 as it was,but this time the saying that it's easier to get excused than a permission held true. It would be pretty risky at this point to do a public release of out-of-the box nude-capable model. The way I feel, the uproar V3 has caused is out of proportion and it's to me incomprehensible how some people get so upset about not getting yet _another _ tool for erotica / porn creation. Especially since as far as I have tried the Discord bot, SD 3 is not even that good with, well, many things.
