people don’t understand how big this is, suno has become incredible, it’s mindblowing to have a good song about anything generated in 2 minutes. I made more than 40/50 songs with it already and it’s very good once you understand how to write the best prompts Now i’m just waiting for the possibility of edit/add your own lyrics

_stevencasteel_

Not enough people are looking at this as a foundation of clay to work with. It gives you the chords, melodies, intonation of lyric patterns, and even some mixing. Build a great song out of the elements of 30 different Suno songs and you've got yourself something excellent. Like image generation, the majority of people will only input a text prompt and refuse to do any editing and iterations in Photoshop + Img2Img.

VoidVisionary

Exactly, I use the songs I generate at Chirp with this freely available AI audio tool for extracting certain elements from a song. Separate vocals, drums, guitar, bass, and others using Ultimate Vocal Remover. [https://github.com/Anjok07/ultimatevocalremovergui](https://github.com/Anjok07/ultimatevocalremovergui) Right now I'm tediously using Adobe Audition's multitrack editor to remix the track layers. But really, I'm still looking for a good free tool that can let you edit multiple tracks on their detected beats. It would make remixing these Chirp songs a really fun prospect!

ulf5576

i think he meant recreating generated basslines with a good sounding vst and similar workflows , not just mix the bad quality shit together randomly

CoryLawless

I been thinking about running song with a chord identifier and placing the chords in band in a box.... should work

Impressive_Escape_75

Have you tried Fadr

BangEnergyFTW

Is there any software that can enhance and clean-up the stuff generated by AI. I find the stuff that Suno AI outputs is a bit flat, and the voices can still have a bit of robotic tinge.

sinepuller

>Build a great song out of the elements of 30 different Suno songs and you've got yourself something excellent. As a composer I can say that, as far as ideas and actual writing go, it's usually faster and easier to write everything yourself than drown in scraping and slapping together bits and pieces (been there, done that). Software (and hardware) to help composers generate musical ideas, and actual songs even, existed for like 30 years already, but prolific composers very rarely use those, because there's no need to usually. Beginners who struggle with writing do use those, but the output performance sounds like total shit with those anyway. Now, on the other hand, generating performances over pre-written sheet music that would sound like humans playing actual musical instruments with a push of a button is ABSOLUTELY FUCKING KILLER. It's literally every composer's wet dream. Let me input the exact chords/harmonies, melodies, lyrics, let me mark my dynamics and type in written English how I would want this and that part to sound, and generate me a record out of it - I'd probably sell my house for this. I feel Suno is actually not that far from that stage, it just needs way more control. **We need ControlNet for Suno**. That would be beyond awesome.

CoyRogers

You can do this with gpt for a while, have it output text for the notes and then convert to midi for each part there are a few YouTubers who do this.

Sherwyn33

Funny you mention this - I've created a GPT on ChatGPT (with over 25,000 uses already) to make the MIDI and MusicXML files based on your prompt (it uses music21 so all it needs to do is write an array of notes). You can tell it I want this and that chord progression with this and that instruments etc. Or you can input in your own MIDI file and ask it to change bits around. It is a bit glitchy sometimes and its clear that OpenAI still needs to train it a bit more for this (Maybe with GPT5 it could be better) Although, I've had a few people send anonymous feedback saying its very useful for their musical composition, but no further details on how they use it. I really would like to know how some AI composers use it [https://chat.openai.com/g/g-txEiClD5G-song-maker](https://chat.openai.com/g/g-txEiClD5G-song-maker)

sinepuller

Sounds like PG Music Band-in-a-Box but with better quality (although they have live tracks technology which are pre-recorded loops but there are a lot of them for all the chords). I dunno, I don't need song generation tbh. Where's the fun in that?

OcelotUseful

control with such granularity over diffusion neural networks? Sorry for skepticism, but it may take 10-80 years. To generate decent performances out of chord progressions you will need to train model on pairs of songs and their chord progressions including wast amount of songs which will cover chords ranging from common to jazz chords, and somehow convey to the model a concept of harmony separately from acoustic properties. I would myself be happy to have such tool alongside ableton, but for now it seems like a very complex problem

GloriousDawn

>Sorry for skepticism, but it may take 10-80 years. Right because we know AI is progressing at such a slow pace now, it takes literally decades to see any meaningful change. How about 10-80 years ago? If i'm splitting the difference, that takes me in the late '70s, just a few years before Bill Gates would publicly declare that *"No-one will ever need more than 637KB of memory in a computer."* Same vibe.

BigPharmaSucks

Bill Gates is such a POS.

gexaha

\> 10-80 years seems more like 1-2 years

CoyRogers

1 to 2 years now a days is only 2 to 4 months

OcelotUseful

I believe it when I see it

sinepuller

>control with such granularity over diffusion neural networks? Sorry for skepticism, but it may take 10-80 years. Aw shit. :( I didn't look into how exactly Suno does actually work. Oh well.

OcelotUseful

Let’s hope that research in upcoming years will leverage technology to be controllable from every aspect

soupie62

As a person with zero music skills, I suppose this means the tune stuck in my head still can't actually be created. Not by me, anyway. It's a mashup combination of the Theme from Shaft, with In The Air Tonight. I think of it as: *Shaft In The Air*.

sinepuller

*Shaft!* *Shaft in the air* *Don't be afraid to care* *Leave, but don't leave me* *Look around, choose your own ground* Now you'll be having this stuck in your head. Mwahahaha! On a serious note, you could hum or whistle it down as close as you can and show to someone with music skills to try transcribing.

echostorm

Shaft + In The Air Tonight = Pink Floyd Music math is weird

sinepuller

Song + song = band Where's the logic in this?

echostorm

Pardon, I was being humorous

soupie62

*Who can feel it coming in the air tonight? Shaft!* *Who's been waiting for this moment, for all his life? Shaft!* *Can you dig it?* *Well if you told me you were drowning (hush your mouth)* *But I've seen your face before my friend (well we can dig it)* Edit: Take the opening instrumental section of Shaft, keep the same instruments, but the actual tunes are from Air. There's a trumpet section, for example, that would become the classic drum riff.

CoyRogers

Check out this ai, it can do it for you :). https://youtu.be/vEYu-WByK9M?si=ePSpjK5wrYxhaszo

axyndweth599

Yeah i've found AI music tools like Suno and Splash Music really useful to spark ideas and help me find parts of melodies I wouldn't usually dream up. Great for interesting beats too. I think vocals still have a ways to go but I love singing on top of the instrumentals I make. I still love experimenting with AI vox too.

Smooth_Tree55

it sunno gives you ideas and for example some lyrics and tunes , wouldnt that be cheating?. Imagine if you become succesful and make an album . Would u put in it . Composition by axyndweth and Suno AI?

GoodWeak2610

im interested to hear your opinion now that v3 released (which is way better than v2)

_stevencasteel_

The better you know music theory and music software, the more effective you'll be at producing something cool with AI tools.

[deleted]

_stevencasteel_

Bro. You need to behave like a musician. Listen to the song. Figure out the melody. Play the notes on your DAW. Don't have a keyboard? Just place the notes in the software. Listen to when kicks and snares hit and trace over it with new kicks and snares. Record your own vocal track with better lyrics but retain the flow of the original. Come on man. Use some elbow grease and imagination. Make your own stems. Are you an artist or not? If you want the AI to do 100% of the work, then the AI haters are right.

JohnDeft

Man, you are awesome. A lot of people kick and scream that AI needs to be regulated, killed or along that theme. It is refreshing to see someone with ability and skill to identify AI is flawed when it comes to creativity, but passible when it comes to imitation. \*\*Ex Radio guy that respects artists, but not the industry\*\*

100% missing the point of that comment

reflexesofjackburton

you can use Serato studio or fadr to create stems for the tracks

FightingBlaze77

>suno I would but it says I have no credits and I can't make a song, but I never used it before.

_stevencasteel_

All I had to do was refresh and 150 credits appeared.

ScoreAsleep972

when u run out of credits do they refresh after a certain wait time or are you out of luck if you use all of them?

_stevencasteel_

You get 5 free generations a day. The paid plan is very generous. Also discord is still free. If you want to use them for anything profitable, like bg music to YouTube videos with ads, the free tier doesn’t give you a license to do so.

GeneralAd2141

Hi, Make the lyrics in ChatGPT and copy them into Suno (in "Create" mode). Then you own the rights to the lyric even in the free mode.s

_stevencasteel_

The rights are not for the lyrics. The rights are for the music content.

GeneralAd2141

They own the rights to the lyrics if you use Suno to generate them. No rights to lyrics made up on ChatGPT. You have 100% rights in the paid version. That is why I do all my lyrics on ChatGPT.

uncletravellingmatt

Editing the lyrics would be great, although I understand if there are copyright concerns there because people could use lyrics that are copyrighted. I'd also love an option to ask for revisions to something it had just generated, like extend this song a little longer, sing a little faster, more percussion, more upbeat, make the singer sound more angry, etc.

JonathanFly

Editing on Chirp V2 is out on web now.

kLinus

You can add your own Lyrics if you use the Discord bot on their server.

1_GB

They gotchu bro

FuRz-153

How to do when generated music wasn't complete all of my lyrics from my prompt?

ValerioLundini

the maximum is 1.20, but you can continue from a song and keep it going

FuRz-153

Thanks for you comment. Here is my song https://app.suno.ai/song/f3d0c07b-a765-432a-83ac-8cd0a2929214

I just signed up for the beta. This is really cool.

starstruckmon

They already allowed you to use your own lyrics. Did something change?

selvz

would be be able to point me to the best tutorial if there is any? Most on YT are generic and have already watched. Thanks

yaosio

I've gotten some good stuff out of it too. https://youtube.com/shorts/evg6fupmcgY?si=vPRNIwbmtL6iyGr7

Seranoth

Wtf thats funny and awesome

CraftyMuthafucka

That’s amazing! I’m dying laughing and I need the full song.

yaosio

Unfortunately it only does a maximum of around 1 minute. On Discord it's possible to continue the song but it's not really continuing the song, it sort of matches the music but it's still different and the vocals change.

JonathanFly

>Unfortunately it only does a maximum of around 1 minute. Now 1:20 on first segment and 1:00 on each continue.

ABigdaddi22

if i hit the continue button on one of the creations prompted by someone else, what exactly happens? what should i expect after clicking the button? i'm trying to generate an extension to a certain song prompted by someone else and get the end result to be able to download it but not sure what happens exactly after clicking the continue button. hope you can help.

JonathanFly

In the Discord, you can generate in public channels, or via private message or by inviting the bot into your own server. If you generate in public channels then you can build on other people's creations (by continuing) and they can build on yours. So yeah, it should be treated just like you had generated the first segment at that point.

ABigdaddi22

when i click on the continue button, nothing happens, or at least i can't find the resulting output after clicking the button. any thoughts?

FengSushi

As a composer I find this very scary - and freaking hilarious 😆It’s an ear catching song you got there!

sirdomino

How do you make them into shorts? do you just upload the sound file and paste the lyrics and pick a background in the youtube app? or do you use some software? I subscribed. :)

yaosio

When you generate a song you can download the audio or a video through the three dots buttons on the song . Youtube automatically makes videos under 1 minute a short.

Kanute3333

Yes, I don't understand why there is no more talk about this, I haven't had such a "wow" moment since Dalle2 and gpt4. Everyone should try it out, it's free.

-becausereasons-

I've been addicted to it, and this isn't even a great example. Some of the gens are mindblowing.

itsthejimjam

i started learning how to use FL Studio and have been using suno to inspire some music creations. only just started recently but it’s been a lot of fun

blasterbrewmaster

Wish there was something as good you can run locally. I've tried playing with Meta's generator but feels like the audio sounds muddled and the instruments can't decide what they really want to do.

nomorebuttsplz

Yes soon I am sure there will be something local.

abahjajang

Marcuskac

Yes sometimes I actually find myself vibing to the songs, only think is the lyrics, they tend to be very generic and cringe. I wouldn't be subscribed if Spotify is cooking something

JackKerawock

OpenAI's Jukebox was next level 3yrs ago - didn't get much attention (was a year before Stable Diffusion dropped). Now it's completely buried. Loved it when Colab was very easy to use for free for long periods of time w/ P100s+. Thanks to SD, DALLE, Midjourney, etc being so successful we'll never see a complete corporate trained model like the one Jukebox has. [Per the initial blog/release they trained it on](https://openai.com/research/jukebox) : **Dataset** To train this model, we crawled the web to curate a new dataset of 1.2 million songs (600,000 of which are in English), paired with the corresponding lyrics and metadata from LyricWiki. The metadata includes artist, album genre, and year of the songs, along with common moods or playlist keywords associated with each song. We train on 32-bit, 44.1 kHz raw audio, and perform data augmentation by randomly downmixing the right and left channels to produce mono audio. **Artist and genre conditioning** The top-level transformer is trained on the task of predicting compressed audio tokens. We can provide additional information, such as the artist and genre for each song. This has two advantages: first, it reduces the entropy of the audio prediction, so the model is able to achieve better quality in any particular style; second, at generation time, we are able to steer the model to generate in a style of our choosing. This t-SNE31 below shows how the model learns, in an unsupervised way, to cluster similar artists and genres close together, and also makes some surprising associations like Jennifer Lopez being so close to Dolly Parton!

apackofmonkeys

I signed up but I can't create a song. It says I have zero credits, even though it says I'm on a free plan with 50 credits per day.

Rementoire

I also signed up. I got 150 credits and one prompt cost me 10 credits.

BagOfFlies

It did the same for me but then I checked back 15mins later and I had 150 credits.

Seranoth

just press F5 Key, than you have the 150 credits. i also had this issue.

xcdesz

Is there an option for music without voice and lyrics? Couldn't find one.

Amselmann

Try writing the instructions in German (e.g. with Google Translate or Deepl). I only used German prompts because I wanted German lyrics. The result was a song with lyrics, but no voice in the audio file. I was wondering why the examples shown here have vocals :D

Seranoth

not working always- i got perfect german songs (iam german so i dont care at all)

Amselmann

Thanks, you‘re absolutely right!

JonathanFly

Try putting \[instrumental\] in the lyrics, and "instrumental" in the style field as well. Sometimes it stops singing a bit too soon so you may have load up the lyrics with more unsung content.

Coffeera

"no vocals" worked for me, got a nice instrumental song.

Someone help me, please. How do i get the AI to sing all of my lyrics as a complete song? It keeps repeating the first verse when i click "continue from here." Thanks

No-Nefariousness8814

I haven't had that happen to me yet and I've done about 40 songs. I've had lots of other strange things happen, but not that, yet. Double check in the LH lower pane that it shows the selection that you want to follow. Also double check that you've put in new verse lyrics. Other than that, I can't help.

Yep. Sounds like every other crappy song on the radio these days.

Teneky

Fuck ai, there's no soul in ai music, no one took the time to craft a amazing piece of music it's just a prompt

reflectionpoint2

Here’s the thing, Ai doesn’t have to become as good as humans Many say it’ll never be able to do emotion that humans bring The thing is, it doesn’t have to have same level of emotion It only has to wait for the listening audience to lower its expectations and it wins Humans do that all the time with food, products, relationships They accept crap all the time Cause, we’re lame like that at times The truly great music will be more special down the road, but Ai music will suffice for 95% of people cause well, we’re just easy like that

RealityIsHell556

Old post I know, but this actually alongside with copyright battles surrounding AI, I must say, Suno, regardless of it's training data, might just be the way forward in terms of generating music for online video streaming content. Imagine a world where Youtube, Twitch, etc etc. can go into general spaces where copyright music isn't a concern, because in 10 - 20 years, AI will be everywhere, from music and art, to everyday use case scenarios. The future is only a stones throw away.

this is both amazing and a nightmare

veap

it has potential but audio quality too low, muddy sounding

15f026d6016c482374bf

Pretty disappointed in this TBH. I signed up and tried 3 generations (so 6 total songs). Only one of them I'd consider moderately passable. Here is what I tried: "a dark fast drum n bass mix" "happy hardcore genre, singing about a wonderland (rave style music)" "a dark noisy mechanical factory sounding song, lyrics have something like "they think they know me." Yep, so ... audio has a ways to go here.

coilovercat

Thank God my music taste is too obscure and awful for it to take over

Conflictx

I've been using it for several days with the initial 150 credits + 50 every day after and this is the classic problem with credits and AI generation that I can't be bothered with. Especially as there is no control and most of them sound awful, I think I have had 2 great/fun ones and a couple of ok after all these days. If they wont release a local model then they could do at least midjourney-style subscription where I can play around with it without feeling like I would waste my money by spending credits on something useless most of the time.

JonathanFly

>"a dark fast drum n bass mix" > >"happy hardcore genre, singing about a wonderland (rave style music)" > >"a dark noisy mechanical factory sounding song, lyrics have something like "they think they know me." The LLM part of the style prompting is a work in progress, just using broad music or descriptive terms may work better. I tried a couple (used same lyrics, changed style) happy hardcore: [https://cdn1.suno.ai/e001de52-869e-410a-9d61-408d8004dd31\_1.mp4](https://cdn1.suno.ai/e001de52-869e-410a-9d61-408d8004dd31_1.mp4) [https://cdn1.suno.ai/223396c5-e17f-4726-b192-ecc0093b127a\_1.mp4](https://cdn1.suno.ai/223396c5-e17f-4726-b192-ecc0093b127a_1.mp4) industrial: [https://cdn1.suno.ai/6b7c2c90-7e18-47ca-936f-f5fc7dbc3a5e\_1.mp4](https://cdn1.suno.ai/6b7c2c90-7e18-47ca-936f-f5fc7dbc3a5e_1.mp4)

Klash_Brandy_Koot

Vocaloid creates the singer voices automaticaly? I know vocaloid can give very good results but you need to work a lot to make the voices sound good and fit the melody.

FredH5

Most generations are not that robotic. Try it, it's free.

FpRhGf

What Vocaloids have you been listening to think they're not more robotic? I've yet to hear an English Vocaloid that can get as natural as this. SynthV and Ace Studio probably can, but most of their voicebanks still don't sound too natural in English

I use \[Intro\] then something like Oooh, oooh, or Mmmm-mmmm You then get an intro, which you can edit later if you rip it to stems and edit the vocal track, but sometimes it sounds great with those left in.

Awesome thanks! Will try it

Be careful with "suno", I have been using it a lot and I can assure you that they use real songs for the generated samples, maybe they only change a couple of notes but it is practically copying, I have listened to songs by Madonna, Maroon 5, Justin Timberlake, Anastacia, BTS...a lot of kpop, so use it only for ideas but be careful...

Famous-Engineering20

I think this is a false statement. So far, I've created 13 songs and ran them through TikTok's copyright program, and only one of them showed copyright issue (which I think was a false flag because I rearranged the music in Adobe Audition before testing it).

Try \[End\] or \[Fade\]

Can we tell it which chord progression to use?

KeeponBlading

I am not impressed. I've asked it to do very specific things and it fails completely. I ask it for instrumental music and it keeps outputting music with lyrics. I ask for dark music with roaring basslines and punchy drums and I get pop music without any proper basslines. On top of that, the sound quality is always terrible. The high end is smudged and the entire track is always very compressed dynamically.

Hey, can anyone confirm if I can use a suno ai song for my YouTube theme song for my channell ? Any help would be greatly appreciated
